Abstract

Sheet material with a sandwich structure comprising a web between two metal skins has a pattern imprinted on at least one of the outer surfaces by deformation of the skin. An Independent claim is also included for a method for the production of this material by pressing the sandwich between two rollers, at least one of which is engraved, and deforming at least one of the skins by a stamping process in which the engraving on the roller acts as a matrix for the skin in contact with it and the web (under pressure) acts as a flexible punch for the skin.
