Abstract

The pollutant particle emission reducer comprises a vaporizer (G) to diffuse water vapor into the exhaust gases from an I.C. engine or released by a heater burning hydrocarbon fuels. The water vapor is produced by recuperating exhaust gas heat in a heat exchanger (c) round the exhaust pipe, and is diffused in proportion to the quantity of exhaust gas by means of a pressure tank (E) with a valve (F) connected to the accelerator, and the amount of water required for evaporation is fed from a tank (A) through a float valve (B) in the heat exchanger. The condensation of the exhaust gas/water vapor mixture is enhanced by a silencer with cooling fins and an outlet cock for recuperating the liquid soot from it.

DESCRIPTIF
DESCRIPTION
The present invention relates to a device for reducing the emission into the atmosphere of polluting particles from the combustion of hydrocarbons by internal combustion engines and boilers.

These volatile particles usually pollute the ambient air by suspension and the soil by precipitation in rainwater.

The device according to the invention allows the immediate precipitation of a significant part of these particles by diffusion of water vapor in the exhaust of the engines or the chimney of the boilers. This precipitation, by cooling and condensation, makes it possible to reduce the propagation in the atmosphere of these particles by fixing them in the liquid state. According to the particular embodiments: - the device can comprise a water supply by reservoir in the case of 'a motor vehicle, or by running water, in the case of a boiler.

- The device can be equipped with a pollutant recovery system adapted differently depending on whether it is an exhaust or a chimney.

With reference to these drawings, steam is produced by recovering the heat given off by the exhaust gases. This recovery is carried out by means of a temperature exchanger system thus constituted: - Figure 1: the water contained in the primary tank (A) flows through a tube terminated by a float valve (B). In the secondary tank (C), enclosing the expansion tank and equipped with a drain valve (1), the pressure created by the expansion of the water circulates it towards a spiral tube (D), located upstream on the exhaust manifold, where evaporation occurs. This spiral tube (D) is connected to a tank (E) where the vapor produced accumulates under pressure. This tank distributes the steam in proportion to the engine speed thanks to a tap (F) coupled to the accelerator. In the case of a boiler, the valve will be similarly coupled to the control system. The vapor is brought to the end of the expansion pot by a tube terminated by a vaporizer (G). Furthermore, the trigger pot has, in its part. internal, a sheet metal spiral (H) intended for optimal recovery of the heat from the exhaust gases.

- Figure 2: This mixture is directed to the exhaust silencer (M) surmounted by cooling fins by the outside air (N). These are intended to promote the condensation of the gas / vapor mixture before leaving the exhaust (L). Part of this liquid soot is collected on the bottom of the silencer (K) fitted with a drain tap (J).
