La réinsertion trans-osseuse de la coiffe des rotateurs nécessite de réaliser différents points de suture avec des fils qui, après passage dans des tunnels osseux et lors de leur serrage, sont susceptibles d'engendrer des contraintes importantes sur la partie d'os séparant les tunnels. Ces contraintes peuvent entraîner la rupture des fils de suture et/ou provoquer des lésions de la partie de l'os provoquant un échec de la suture. Les contraintes en tant que telles résultent du fait que le ou les fils de suture sont directement en contact avec la partie d'os considérée notamment au niveau de la mise en tension desdits fils.
