Abstract

The bolt comprises a lower latch unit (3) connected to an activating rod (4) fixed to the door. The latch unit has a movable bolt (6) which engages a fixed strike plate (8) and a locking means interposed between the bolt and strike plate. The locking means are composed of an activating lever able to lock in one direction or unlock in the other direction. The lever is formed by an operating handle (17) articulated (20) in the bolt extension (18). A nose (21) extends into a bolt window (19) beyond the handle articulation. A rocker (22) opposite the window is articulated (23) in the strike plate extension (24) and engages the activating lever and the bolt. A return spring (30) supported on the strike plate acts on the rocker.
