Abstract

The molded synthetic material or metal shoe (1) has front parallel separating fingers between which are alternate long (8) and short (9) slots designed to only allow a part of the hair to make contact the cutters and to layer the remainder of the hair under the shoe to prevent is from being cut. The result is that after passage of the clippers (3) parallel bands of cut hair are separated by bands of non cut hair . The shoe is clipped over the cutter head (2) of the hair clippers (3) and is fitted under the shoe (4) on which the cutting blade (5) is mounted. The shoe has a universal fixing which allows it to be fitted to all types of currently known hair cutters. The clip arrangement comprises two flexible tongues (11). The shoe can be used on electric or manual hair cutters and can be used on a hand razor.

Description

<Desc / Clms Page number 1>
The subject of the present invention is a tapering shoe for a hair clipper or a hair razor.

It relates to the industrial and commercial field of the manufacture and distribution of equipment and accessories for the treatment of hair for women, men or children, generally intended for hairdressing salons but usable by individuals. .

Thinning is an operation commonly performed by hairdressers in order to reduce the thickness of the hair or to obtain certain particular visual effects dictated by the fashion of the moment.

To date, it is practiced by thinning the hair strand by strand, either with a razor, or using special notched scissors.

This operation is time consuming and requires a great deal of know-how from the operator.

The device according to the present invention aims to remedy this state of affairs. It makes it possible to practice tapering much more quickly and easily than with currently known methods, by reducing by fractions the cutting field of a common type of mower.

It is constituted by a shoe integrated in the clipper or fixed on an existing clipper or a hand razor and comprising teeth separating determined notches to alternately let the hair pass to the cutting blade, or on the contrary lay them under the hoof without being cut, so as to obtain, after the passage of the clipper, parallel strips of cut hair separated by strips of uncut hair.

In the accompanying drawings, given by way of nonlimiting examples of embodiments of the subject of the invention:

<Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 Figure 1 shows, side view, the head of an electric mower equipped with a removable tapering shoe, Figure 2 is a bottom view of the sole of the mower head, Figure 3 shows the shoe alone, FIGS. 4, 5 and 6 represent different types of shoes seen from above and FIGS. 7 and 8 are vertical sections respectively according to the arrows F1 and F2 of FIG. 3.

The device, Figures 1 to 8, consists of a shoe 1 fixed on the head 2 of a mower 3, below the sole 4 on which is mounted the cutting blade 5.

The shoe 1 is formed by a body 6 comprising at the front vertical parallel partitions 7 determining between them a series of alternately long 8 and short 9 notches in which the hair to be treated passes when using the clipper 3 .

The long indentations 8 extend rearwardly beyond the teeth 10 of the sole 4 of the clipper head 2, so that the hair engaged in these indentations can pass between the teeth of the sole 4 to be cut by the blade 5 (cut figure 8).

On the contrary, the depth of the short notches 9 is determined to prevent the hair which is engaged therein from being cut by folding them back so that they pass under the shoe 1 before they reach the teeth 10 of the plate 4 (cutting figure 7).

The shape and dimensions of the shoe 1, as well as the width of the notches 8, 9 is determined according to the type of result to be obtained. For this purpose, the shoe 1 will advantageously exist in several sizes to allow very fine, fine, medium, wide or very wide tapering.

The shoe 1 can be made of any suitable material, and in particular of metal or of molded synthetic material.

<Desc / Clms Page number 3>

 It can be removable and include a universal fixing system allowing it to be mounted on all the heads 2 of common mowers, this fixing system being able to consist of flexible lateral tabs 11 secured to the body of the shoe or of another device such as screws or snap.

The shoe 1 can also be integrated into the sole 4 of the mower head 2 and form only one element with it.

The mower 3 can be both hand type and electric type.

The shoe according to the invention can be designed to fit on the blade of a hand razor thanks to a clamping system consisting for example of elastic blades forming a clamp and enclosing the blade.

The positioning of the various constituent elements gives the object of the invention a maximum of useful effects which had not, to date, been obtained by similar devices.
