Abstract

The package is produced by folding a precut blank consisting of side panels (31 - 34) with closure flaps (40, 41) and tabs (38). An internal locking structure which is made up of two panels (45, 46) is connected to the main structure by a triangular strip (42) can be folded to produce a partition which divides the package diagonally into two compartments. This has reinforcing components (57) at the bottom. An Independent claim is included for the blank.

Description

The present invention relates to the technical field of packaging and

  packaging of various products in a case formed by folding a blank

  pre-cut from cardboard or the like.

  The cases used generally have a substantially parallelepipedal shape which, if it is capable of containing the product to be packaged, is not always capable of providing the latter with sufficient wedging to preserve its integrity. To take into account the particular shape of the container, the case must therefore include an internal wedging structure which then defines a reception housing

for the product to be packaged.

  This is, for example, the case for the packaging of a tube produced from a sheath of deformable material and closed by the bottom, so that the tube has, at its mouth, a substantially cylindrical shape which will in

  flattening to present a shape at the substantially prismatic opposite end.

  Indeed, to ensure an efficient wedging of such a tube, it is necessary to have

  a housing, in the form of a wedge or a prism.

  The presence of corner housings can also be useful for packaging, for example, products in bags which have one end

thicker than the other.

  In order to meet this need, US Pat. No. 3,370,776 and the utility model DE 299 02 027 have both proposed a packaging case produced from a pre-cut blank of compact cardboard. This packaging case is mounted by folding to include a peripheral envelope with hinged panels intended to form a substantially parallelepiped case body, flaps and flaps for closing the transverse ends of the body. The case also includes an internal wedging structure forming a foldable and counterfixable extension of an articulated panel and comprising a connecting strip, a median panel and a counter panel, delimited and articulated together by oriented fold lines. so that the middle panel extends diagonally in the case body and delimits two

  compartments substantially wedge-shaped.

  According to these two documents, the connecting strip and the counter panel are articulated on two diametrically opposite parts of the middle panel, so that the connecting strip and the counter panel are folded in two directions.

  However, it has become apparent, in use, that such a case does not always exhibit optimum resistance to crushing under the effect of a force exerted perpendicular to the large faces of the case. In order to remedy this drawback, it therefore appeared the need to have a packaging case, of the above type, which has reinforced qualities of resistance to crushing and which, more particularly, offers, for the at least one of its wedge-shaped compartments, optimal crush resistance, so as to define, within the case, a particularly reinforced compartment

crush resistant.

  To achieve this objective, the invention relates to a packaging case, of the type produced from a precut blank and mounted by folding to include: * a peripheral envelope with hinged panels intended to form a case body, flaps and closing flaps of the transverse ends of the case body,

  * and an internal wedging structure forming a folding and counter-extending

  fixable of an articulated panel and comprising a connecting strip, a median panel and a counter-panel delimited and articulated together by fold lines oriented so that the median panel extends diagonally in the

  case body and delimits two compartments substantially wedge-shaped.

  According to the invention, this case is characterized in that the connecting strip and the counter panel are oriented in the same direction and the same direction relative to the median panel and located in the same corner compartment for each to reinforce,

  at least in part, one of the two triangular faces of this corner compartment.

  The invention also relates, for the production of the case, to a precut blank comprising, on the one hand, a first part, called an envelope, composed of four panels articulated one after the other by lines of parallel folding, some of said panels being extended at the end by folding flaps, while others are provided with closing flaps of the case body formed by said panels and, on the other hand, a second part, called internal wedging , which includes: * a connecting strip connected to the last articulated panel, by a fold line parallel to that separating the last panel from the adjacent panel, and intended to provide a fixing surface for the first panel, in order to form the body of case, e a middle panel and a counter panel which extend from the connecting strip being delimited by two fold lines, parallel to each other, forming an angle of value ct with the fold line separating the connecting strip of the last articulated panel, the counter panel having, opposite the fold line, a bearing edge converging substantially with the fold line in the same direction as that in which the fold lines converge . According to another characteristic of the invention, the connecting strip and the

  counter-panel are connected to the same part, called the upper part, of the median panel.

  In order to better understand the contribution of the invention compared to the prior art, FIGS. 1 to 3 recall, in detail, the teaching of documents

US 3,370,776 and DE 299 02 027.

  As can be seen from fig. 1, the precut blank, for producing by folding a case according to the prior art, comprises a first part A, called the peripheral envelope, which comprises four panels 1, 2, 3, 4 articulated one after the other others by parallel fold lines 5, 6, 7. Some panels, 1 and 3, are extended at the end by folding flaps 8, while the other two panels, 2 and 4, are each provided with a flap of closing of the transverse ends of the

  case body 10 and 11, respectively high and low.

  The precut blank also includes a second part B, called internal wedging, constituted in particular by a connecting strip 12 connected to the last articulated panel 4 by a fold line 13 parallel to that 7 separating the last panel 4 from the adjacent panel 3. This connecting strip is intended to provide a fixing surface for the first panel 1, in order to form the case body, as illustrated in FIG. 2. The internal wedging part B also comprises a middle panel 15 and a counter panel 16 which extend from the connecting strip, being delimited by two fold lines 17 and 18, parallel to each other and forming an angle with the fold line 13. The counter panel 16 has an edge

  support 19 intended to be placed in the angle defined by the fold line 6.

  It appears, more particularly from FIG. 1, that the fold lines 17 and 18 are diametrically opposite with respect to the middle panel 15, so that the counter panel 16 and the connecting strip 12 are connected to opposite portions, respectively low and high, of the middle panel 15 Similarly, it appears that the fold lines 13 and 17 converge downward, while the edge 19 and the line 18

converge towards the top of the case.

  Given the orientation of the fold lines 17 and 18, the middle panel 15 extends, when the case is mounted, diagonally in the case body E formed from the part A of the precut blank. The middle panel 15 then delimits two

  compartments 20, 21 substantially in the form of a wedge or prism.

  In addition, given the relative position of the connecting strip 12 and the counter panel 16 relative to the middle panel, the connecting strip 12 is in relation to a first compartment 20, while the counter panel 16 is is folded away opposite to the middle panel 15, so as to be in relation to the second compartment 21. Thus, as shown in section in FIG. 3, the succession of the connecting strip 12, the middle panel 15 and the counter panel 16 describes a kind of "S". However, taking into account this relative arrangement of the elements 12, 15 and 16, the case thus formed does not exhibit optimal resistance to the forces exerted perpendicular to the large faces of the case in the direction of the arrows FI and F2 of the

fig. 3.

  The invention therefore aims to remedy this drawback by proposing, in particular, to arrange, inside the case, at least one corner compartment with reinforced structure. To this end, according to a first embodiment, the case according to the invention is produced from a precut blank, generally designated by the reference 30 and illustrated in FIG. 4 on which the cutting lines are shown in solid lines, while the fold lines are shown in phantom. The blank 30 can be made of any suitable material and, preferably but not exclusively,

compact cardboard.

  The precut blank 30 comprises a first part I, called the peripheral envelope, intended to form, by folding, the body of the case. This first part I comprises, in particular, four panels 31, 32, 33, 34 articulated, one after the other, by parallel fold lines 35, 36, 37. Some panels, 31 and 33, are extended at the end by folding flaps 38, while the other two panels, 32 and 34, are each provided with a closing flap 40 and 41 at the ends of the

  case body, respectively high and low.

  The blank 30 also comprises a second part II, known as an internal wedging structure, which consists, in particular, of a connecting strip 42 extending in the extension of the last articulated panel 34. The connecting strip 42 is connected to the last panel 34 by a fold line 43 parallel to that 37 separating the

  last panel 34 of the adjacent panel 33.

  The internal structural part It also includes a middle panel 45 and a counter panel 46 which extend from the connecting strip 42 while being delimited by two fold lines 47 and 48 parallel to each other. The two fold lines 47 and 48 also form an angle of value a with the fold line 43

  separating the connecting strip 42 from the last articulated panel 34.

  According to the example illustrated, the fold lines 47 and 48 extend, continuously, up to a so-called upper part of the middle panel 45, so that the counter panel 46 and the connecting strip 42 are connected to said middle panel 45 at

  less at the level of this upper part.

  Thus, the connecting strip 42 and the counter panel 46 are arranged substantially in relation at least to the same upper end of the middle panel 45, as opposed to the prior art, explained in FIG. 1 according to which the connecting strip 12 and

  the counter panel 16 are diametrically opposite with respect to the median panel.

  Indeed, the connecting strip 12 is linked to the upper end of the middle panel 15, while the counter-panel 16 is arranged in the lower part of this same middle panel. This difference between the invention and the prior art is clear from

  the comparative analysis of figs. 1 and 4.

  It should be noted that, according to the example illustrated, the connecting strip 42 and the

  counter panel 46 extend beyond the upper edge 49 of the middle panel.

  The case according to the invention is shaped, from the blank 30, by successive folding, along lines 47 and 48, of part II of the blank in, respectively, the direction of the arrows F7 and Fs, then by successively folding along the lines 35, 36, 37 and 43 of the part V of the peripheral envelope, so as to fix the first articulated panel 31 against the connecting strip 42 by any means

  suitable, such as, for example, by gluing.

  Against the panel 46 has, opposite the line 47, a bearing edge 50 which is placed in the angle defined by the fold line 37. It should be noted that the edge 50 defines, with the fold line 48, an angle of the same value as that of the angle defined by fold lines 47 and 43. The value a of this angle corresponds to the inclination of the middle panel 45 inside the body d case defined by the panels

articulated 31, 32, 33 and 34.

  In addition, according to the invention, the fold line 48 and the support edge 50 converge downwards, just like the fold lines 43 and 47. According to the example

  illustrated, the counter panel 46 extends to the lower part of the middle panel.

  However, the counter panel 46 could only interest a part of the middle panel.

  After assembly, the connecting strip 42 is located against the first panel 31, while the counter panel 46 is located against the third

panel 33.

  The case thus formed is illustrated in perspective in FIG. 5 from which it appears that the middle panel 45 extends diagonally in the case body. The position of the middle panel 45 is clearly shown in FIG. 6 and it appears that the inclination of the panel 45 defines, in the case body, two compartments 51 and 52 of form

  substantially prismatic or wedge-shaped.

  Fig. 7 shows that, according to an essential arrangement of the invention, the connecting strip 42 and the counter panel 46 are oriented in the same direction and the

  same direction with respect to the middle panel. Thus, the connecting strip 42 and the counter

  panel 46 are both arranged in the same corner compartment 51 and each reinforce, at least in part, one of the triangular faces of this

compartment 51.

  This advantageous arrangement of the invention makes it possible to define, as shown more particularly in FIG. 7, by the succession of the connecting strip 42 of the

  median panel 45 and counter panel 46, an anti-U-shaped reinforcement structure

  crushing of the corner compartment 51, in relation to which the connecting strip 42 and the counter panel 46 are arranged. It should be noted that such a reinforcement function is not ensured, according to the prior art, by the strip 12, the middle panel and the counter panel 16 which define a "Z" structure, as shown in FIG. 3. Thus, the invention allows, by the relative arrangement of the connecting strip 42, the middle panel 45 and the counter panel 46, to define, in relation to the

  panel 34, a corner compartment 51 with reinforced structure.

  In addition, the connecting strip 42 and the counter panel 46 provide, according to the illustrated example, an additional function of reinforcing the upper part of the body of the case, in order to improve its resistance to crushing under the constraint effect

  exerted in the direction of the arrows F9 and F0lo on the panels 32 and 34.

  According to a preferred but not strictly necessary feature of the invention, the middle panel 45 has, at its lower end, a

  fixing lug 57 against the internal face of the last articulated panel 34.

  Preferably, this fixing lug 57 is connected to the middle panel 45 by an articulation band 58 defined by two fold lines 59 and 60, not parallel to each other and converging in the direction of the connecting band 42. This band d articulation 58 makes it possible to define a sort of bellows which allows a flat presentation of the preformed case, the tab 57 being fixed against the last panel 34 and the first panel 31 being fixed on the connecting strip 42. The strip of articulation 58, forming bellows, allows, in fact, a displacement of the internal wedging structure during the transition from this preformed state flat to the final state of the case,

as illustrated in fig. 5.

  According to the example illustrated, the tab 57 is fixed on the panel 34 while being oriented downwards, but it could also be envisaged to fix this tab 57 of

  so that it faces the top of the case and is located in compartment 51.

  Such an upward orientation is particularly preferred in the case of a

  automated assembly of the case.

  Figs. 9 and 10 illustrate an alternative embodiment of the case according to the invention, according to which the blank 30, constituting the case, has the same elements

  that those described in relation to fig. 4.

  However, this alternative embodiment differs from the previous one in that the closing flaps 40 and 41 are arranged in the extension of the same panel.

  This variant also differs from the previous one in that the upper edge 61 of the connecting strip 42, the upper edge 62 of the middle panel 45 and the upper edge 63 of the counter panel 46 are all located in the extension of each other. so that after formation of the case, the upper edges 61, 62 and 63 are substantially at the same level, as shown more particularly in FIG. 9. It should be noted that, as for the previous example, the bearing edge 50 and the fold line 48, as well as the fold lines 47 and 43, converge in the same direction. In addition, according to this variant, the middle panel 45 has a cutout 64 which defines an immobilization imprint or a cell for receiving a unitary conditioned product 65, such as, for example, a bottle which is then placed, at

  both in the two corner compartments 51, 52.

  Preferably, the cutout 64 defines a foldable flap 66, articulated by a fold line 67 on the middle panel 45. The foldable door flap is provided with at least one support tab 68, articulated by a fold line 69 During the shaping of the case, the flap 66 defines a support for the product 65 placed in the cell, so as to keep said product 65 away from the bottom flap of the case,

as shown in fig. 10.

  Figs. 11 and 12 illustrate another embodiment of the case according to the invention, according to which the blank 30, constituting the case, has the same elements as those described in relation to FIG. 4, the middle panel 45 does not

  having however no fixing lug.

  This other embodiment differs from that illustrated in FIG. 4 in this

  that the counter panel 46 has, opposite the middle panel 45, a counter

  reinforcement tab 70 which is separated from the counter panel 46 by a fold line 71 parallel to the edge 'support 50 and located in the extension of the latter. The fold line 71 then achieves, with the fold line 48, an angle a. The reinforcement lug 70 is preferably connected to the counter panel 46 in the lower part of the latter, towards the point of convergence of the fold lines 48 and 71. The reinforcement lug 70 defines an edge of support 72 parallel to the support edge 50. The function of this

  support edge 72 will appear subsequently.

  In order to provide reinforcement for the tip of the corner corresponding to the bottom of the compartment 51, the blank 30 also has a folding extension III intended to constitute an internal reinforcement structure. According to the example illustrated in FIG. 11, the reinforcement extension mI extends at the bottom of the last hinged panel 34, from a fold line 73 perpendicular to the fold lines 37

and 43.

  The reinforcement extension mI then comprises, from the fold line 76, a lamination strip 74 and a reinforcement flap 75 separated from the strip

  laminating 74 by a fold line 76 parallel to the beach line 73.

  The pre-cut blank, thus formed, is shaped substantially in the same way as has been described in relation to FIG. 4, so as to constitute the case according to the invention. During this shaping, after the folding lines 43, 47 and 48 have been formed, the reinforcement extension III is folded down and the lamination strip 74 is glued against the internal face of the last articulated panel 34. The lug reinforcement 70 is folded over against the panel 46, by the formation of the fold line 72. This last folding is carried out so that, after the shaping of the case, as illustrated in FIG. 12, the reinforcement lug 70 is pressed against the articulated panel 33 and its edge 72 is in abutment against the panel 32

  in the angle formed by the fold line 36.

  Thus, the lug 70 reinforces the lower part of the compartment 51 and the triangular faces corresponding to the panels 33 of the compartment 52. In addition, the lug 72 thus ensures immobilization and wedging of the counter panel, 46

  contributing to the correct positioning of the middle panel 45.

  In the closed position of the case, the reinforcing flap 75 is then applied

  against the middle panel 45, as shown in fig. 12.

  Thus, the lamination strip 74 and the reinforcement flap 75, pressed against the median panel 45 ensures closure of the bottom of the compartment 51 and

  strengthens the latter's resistance.

  The implementation of the reinforcement extension m and the reinforcement lug 70 contributes to ensuring very good resistance of the compartment 51, so as to suitably protect a product 77 in the form of a wedge, such as for example a tube, which would be introduced there. The case, produced from the precut blank illustrated in fig. 11 and presented in form in FIG. 12, has very good impact and drop resistance. Indeed, the lamination strip 74 and the reinforcing flap, as well as the reinforcing lug 70, prevent the tip of the product 77 from being

  thrown against the bottom of the case and damaged.

  The implementation of the reinforcement extension mI and the reinforcement lug 70 advantageously offer good impact resistance of the corner part

  defining the bottom of compartment 51.

  Figs. 13 to 15 illustrate an alternative embodiment of the case illustrated in

fig. 11 and 12.

  This variant embodiment also implements the lug of

  reinforcement 70 and the reinforcement extension III.

  However, according to this variant, the folding reinforcement extension lmI, which extends from the fold line 73 in alignment with the last panel

  articulated 34, includes a reinforcing flap 78, articulated by the fold line 73.

  The reinforcing flap 78 has a support leg 79 which extends from a fold line 80 substantially parallel to the fold line 43 and perpendicular to the fold line 73. The support leg 79 has then a bearing edge 81, parallel to the bearing edges 50 and 72. The bearing edge 81 defines, with the

fold line 80, an angle a.

  During the shaping of the case, in accordance with the folding and gluing sequences presented above, the flap 78 is folded against the panel 45 and the fold line 80 is formed so that, during the shaping of the case, the support leg 79 is placed against the articulated panel 31 and the edge 81 bears against the panel 32 in the angle defined by the fold line 35. By this arrangement, the lower part of the middle panel 45 , forming the corner defining the bottom of the compartment 51, is perfectly wedged, on the one hand, by the reinforcement extension m thus formed and, on the other hand, by the reinforcement lug 70 which

  immobilizes the counter-panel 46 and therefore the middle panel 45.

  This advantageous arrangement of the invention then ensures good mechanical strength of the tip of the compartment 51 and therefore good

  protection of a packaged product placed there.

  It should be noted, by comparative analysis of Figs. 12 and 14 that, according to the variant illustrated in FIG. 14, the bottom of the compartment 51 is located substantially in the vicinity of the bottom of the case, while, according to the variant illustrated in FIG. 12, the bottom of the compartment 51 is located at a distance from the bottom of the case formed by the flap 41 in

closed position.

  According to the embodiment illustrated in FIGS. 4 and 6, maintaining the tip of the compartment 51 located near the bottom of the case is

  carried out by the fixing lug 57.

  Likewise, according to the embodiments illustrated in FIGS. 11 and 13, the point 51 of the compartment 51 is held in position by the extension

m of the panel 34 However, in accordance with the invention, it could be envisaged not to

  implement no particular means to ensure this maintenance or, on the contrary,

  to ensure this maintenance by any other appropriate means.

  Thus, figs. 16 to 19 illustrate other alternative embodiments of the case according to the invention according to which the maintenance of the tip of the compartment 51, located near the case, is carried out by a holding tab 85 extending at the level of the lower end of the middle panel 45 from a fold line 86 perpendicular to the line 48. As shown more particularly in FIGS. 17 and 19, the retaining tab 85 is intended, during the shaping of the case, to come into abutment, by its edge 87 opposite the fold line 86, against the panel 32 so as to prevent excessive separation important, compared to panel 34, from the bottom of the

  median panel 45, at the point of the compartment 51.

  The invention is not limited to the examples described and shown, because

  various modifications can be made without departing from its scope.

Claims (18)

CLAIMS:   1- Packaging case, of the type produced from a blank (30) precut and mounted by folding to include: A peripheral envelope with articulated panels (31, 32, 33, 34) intended to form a case body , flaps (40, 41) and flaps (38) for closing the transverse ends of the case body,   * and an internal wedging structure forming a folding and counter-extending   fixable from an articulated panel (34) and comprising a connecting strip (42), a middle panel (45) and a counter panel (46) delimited and articulated together by oriented fold lines (47, 48) of so that the middle panel (45) extends diagonally in the case body and delimits two compartments (51, 52) substantially in the form of a wedge, characterized in that the connecting strip (42) and the counter panel (46) are oriented in the same direction and the same direction relative to the median panel (45) and located in the same corner compartment (51) for each to reinforce,   at least part, one of the two triangular faces of this corner compartment (51).   2 - Case according to claim 1, characterized in that the connecting strip (42) and the counter panel (46) are connected to the same part, said high, of the panel median (45).   3 - Case according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the against   panel (46) has, opposite the middle panel (45) a reinforcement lug   intended to wedge the counter-panel (46).   4 - Case according to claim 8, characterized in that the bearing edge (50) forms a value angle (ct) with the fold line (48) separating the middle panel from the counter panel (46).   13 - Case according to claim 11 or 12, characterized in that the counter   panel (46) comprises, in the lower part, a reinforcement lug (70) extending opposite the median panel (45) from a fold line (71) situated in the extension of the edge d support (50) and having a support edge (72) parallel to the   fold line (71) separating the lug (70) from the liner (46).   14- Case according to claim 11, characterized in that the last articulated panel (34) has, in the lower part, a folding extension (I), intended to constitute an internal reinforcement structure of the corner corresponding to the bottom of one of the compartments (51).   15 - Case according to claim 14, characterized in that the reinforcement extension comprises, from the last panel (34) a lamination strip (74) on the last panel (34) and a reinforcement flap (75) delimited by two fold lines (73, 76) parallel to each other and perpendicular to those (35, 36, 37)   of articulation of the articulated panels (31, 32, 33, 34).   16 - Case according to claim 14, characterized in that the reinforcement extension (ml) comprises a reinforcement flap (78) which is separated from the last articulated panel (34) by a fold line (73) perpendicular to those of articulation (35, 36, 37) of the articulated panels (31, 32, 33, 34) and which comprises a support tab (79) extending from a fold line (80) parallel to those of articulation of   hinged panels and having a bearing edge (81) parallel to the bearing edge (50).   17- Case according to claim 11, characterized in that the middle panel (45) has, in the lower part, a fixing lug (57) intended to be   counter-fixed on an internal face of an articulated panel (34).   18- Case according to claim 17, characterized in that the fixing lug (57) is connected to the middle panel by a hinge band (58) delimited by two fold lines (59, 60) converging in the direction of the band of link (42).   19 - Case according to one of claims 11 to 18, characterized in that the   middle panel has at least one cutout (64) intended to define a cell for receiving a packaged unit product (65). - Case according to claim 19, characterized in that the cutout defines a folding panel (66) and a support tab (68) intended to form a   support, remote from the bottom flap (41), for a product (65) placed in the cell.   21 - Case according to one of claims 1 to 3 or one of the claims   11 to 13, characterized in that the middle panel (45) has, in the lower part, a   retaining tab (85) intended to bear against the panel (32).
