Abstract

B522 The present invention relates to a box for the

  distribution of so-called handkerchiefs.

  The invention relates more particularly to a box, in particular of cardboard, for the distribution of handkerchiefs of paper, in particular of cellulose wadding, which are contained in the box which comprises for this purpose, in one of its walls, in particular in an upper wall. if we consider the distribution box placed horizontally on a table or support, a distribution window, originally closed by a 1o seal, covered with a flexible film, for example a flexible plastic film, which is fixed to the wall, in particular to the internal face of the latter, and which has an elongated distribution opening delimited by two longitudinal edges spaced transversely which meet at each of the

  two opposite longitudinal ends of the opening.

  Such a cardboard box contains a series of stacked and entangled handkerchiefs, the sheets constituting the

  handkerchiefs being interconnected by attachment points.

  The dispensing window with its elongated opening should facilitate the use of the box and make it possible to resolve

  several problems inherent in this type of box.

  The box must in particular facilitate the extraction of the first sheet or handkerchief. In fact, this first sheet of paper or cellulose wadding, at the outlet of the machine for producing the handkerchiefs stacked in the box, is generally compressed, due to the manufacturing process, and it is found that it "swells" and just sticks against the part opposite the internal face of the upper wall of the cardboard box, after a certain period of storage. Thus, if no means are provided, we see that the first sheet

  most often tears.

  It is therefore desirable to design an elongated slot which exerts a reduced retention force on the sheet of paper B522 during its extraction and which in particular makes it possible to increase the

sliding leaves.

  When the user wishes to extract the last handkerchiefs or sheets out of the box, there is often a phenomenon of extraction "in strings" because the last sheets held together by attachment points are not braked sufficiently during their passage through the window opening and they come out in the form of a continuous strip of paper in which the precut formats or handkerchiefs are integral with each other, that is to say that they can no longer be extracted individually one after the other. It is therefore desirable that the design of the elongated opening allows the last sheets to be retained individually so that they are separated from each other.

  It is also desirable to maintain at least as good extraction qualities as those existing with conventional boxes so that, when a sheet is removed individually, the next sheet is always engaged in

the extraction opening.

  In order to solve some of these problems, it has already been proposed, in particular according to the state of the art disclosed in document EP-B1-0,577,443. a box of the type mentioned above and of the type in which the opening comprises, in the vicinity of at least one of its opposite longitudinal ends, a first and a second curved slots, transversely opposite, each of which first extends substantially in the extension of a longitudinal edge in the direction of said longitudinal end, then transversely outward away from said longitudinal edge. Such an opening design illustrated in Figure 5 of this document, in which each of the first and second curved slots does not extend from the distal longitudinal end of the elongated opening, but on the contrary from a longitudinal edge of the opening near the corresponding distal end does not solve all of the problems mentioned above. In order to solve each of these problems, the invention provides a box of the type mentioned above, characterized in that said at least one longitudinal end of the elongated opening comprises a third slot, of generally longitudinal orientation, which extends since

  said at least one longitudinal end of the opening.

  According to other features of the invention - the third slot is rectilinear; - The third slot extends along the longitudinal axis of the elongated opening; each of said first and second slots is a substantially semi-circular slot; - The radius of each of said first and second slots is substantially equal to 5 mm; - The third slot extends longitudinally beyond the extreme longitudinal point of said first and second slots; - The length of said third slot is substantially equal to 7 mm; - Said at least one longitudinal end of the elongated opening has a rounded profile; - The average radius of curvature of the rounded profile of said at least one longitudinal end of the elongated opening is substantially equal to 2.5 mm; - the length of the elongated opening is substantially equal to 105 mm; - the greatest transverse width of the elongated opening is substantially equal to 8 mm B522 - the elongated opening allows the distribution of tissues of approximately 215 mm in length; - The elongated opening has a symmetry of design with respect to a median longitudinal axis; - The elongated opening has a symmetry of design with respect to a median transverse axis; - the free end of each slot is set back

  relative to the free edge of the window.

  The box 10 is in particular delimited by two large rectangular walls which here consist of a solid lower wall 12 for which the box 10 rests for example on a table, and of a horizontal upper wall 14 allowing the distribution of the handkerchiefs 16 contained in the

box 10.

  In a known manner, not shown in detail, the handkerchiefs 16 are paper or cellulose wadding formats of generally square or rectangular shape which are tangled and stacked B522 vertically in the box, each handkerchief 16 being folded in half so that its dimensions when folded correspond substantially to the dimensions

inside the box 10.

  In known manner, to allow the extraction of tissues 16 from the box 10, the horizontal upper wall 14 has a centered cutout 18 in the general shape of an elongated ellipse which is initially closed before use by a cover (not shown) precut on along the edge 20 of the window 18 to allow the user to easily remove it and to open the box which gives him access to an elongated central opening 22 which is

formed in a flexible film 23.

  The flexible film 23 has a generally rectangular outline and is fixed to the upper wall 14 inside the box 10, that is to say it is generally glued under the

  internal face of the upper wall 14.

  There is therefore an annular zone of rectangular outline of the cardboard inner face of the upper wall 14 with which the tissues 16 contained in the box are in contact, and in particular the first tissue of the pile of tissues whose extraction is more particularly difficult

  as previously explained.

  In a known manner, the elongated slot 22 extends along a median longitudinal axis of symmetry AL which also corresponds substantially to the median longitudinal axis of the upper wall 14, and the elongated opening 22 also has a design symmetry by relation to a median transverse axis AT which also corresponds substantially to the transverse axis

  The elongated opening 22 is narrow, that is to say that the maximum transverse width between its two parallel and opposite longitudinal edges, slightly curved, in line with the transverse axis AT is here substantially equal to 8 B522 millimeters while the length total of the elongated opening 22 separating its two opposite longitudinal ends 26 where the longitudinal edges 24 meet, is here substantially

equal to 105 millimeters.

  s The profile of each of the opposite longitudinal ends 25, also called distal longitudinal ends, of the opening 22 is a rounded profile whose radius of curvature

  The area cleared between the longitudinal edges 24 of the elongated opening 22 formed in the flexible film 23 allows the user, by inserting his fingers, to catch the first handkerchief 16 of the stack in order to extract it vertically at

  According to the teachings of the invention, each end of the elongated opening 22 has a first slot and a second opposite slot 26 which are all

  two curved, and a third straight slot 30.

  curved slots 26 is a substantially semi-shaped slot

  circular which extends first of all longitudinally sensitive-

  lying in the extension of the corresponding longitudinal edge 24 from a point P which is situated longitudinally set back with respect to the longitudinal end 25 of the opening 22, each first or second slot 26 then extending, in an arc of a circle, transversely away from the longitudinal edge 24, that is to say towards the edge 20 of the

  window 18 without however reaching this edge 20.

  In the preferred embodiment according to the invention, the

  mean radius of each first or second semi-slit

  circular 26 is substantially equal to 5 millimeters and the longitudinal end point T of each first or second slot 26 is located longitudinally beyond the end

  longitudinal 25 of the elongated opening 22.

  Thus, in the vicinity of each longitudinal end, the flexible film in which the central opening 22 is formed consists of four adjacent parts separated from each other by jo the three slots 26 and 30 and which, as shown schematically in Figure 1 , when extracting a handkerchief 16, flourish vertically upwards

  forming petals, or a corolla.

  Thanks to the design according to the invention, the longitudinal ends of the elongated opening 22 open with the slots 26 and 30, in corollas, in order to avoid tearing of the first sheet, the extraction of which, as explained

  previously, is particularly difficult.

  The presence of the three slots 26, 30 at a longitudinal end makes it possible to retain one by one the sheets constituting the handkerchiefs by acting in the manner of a brake to allow the separation of the handkerchiefs each time one of them is extract, especially when extracting

last handkerchiefs stacked.

  Finally, the design with three slots 26, 30 allows the adaptation of the invention to many flexible materials constituting the film 24, while keeping a very good quality of extraction. B522

Claims (15)

  1. Box (10), in particular made of cardboard, for the distribution of handkerchiefs (16) contained in the box which for this purpose comprises, in one (14) of its walls, in particular an upper wall, a dispensing window ( 18) covered with a flexible film (23) which is fixed to the wall (14), in particular to the internal face thereof, and which comprises an elongated opening (22) for distribution delimited by two longitudinal edges (24 ) spaced transversely which meet at each of the two opposite longitudinal ends (25) of the opening, and of the type in which the opening (22) comprises, in the vicinity of at least one of its opposite longitudinal ends i5 (25 ), a first and a second curved slots (26), transversely opposite, each of which (26) extends first substantially in the extension of a longitudinal edge (24) towards said longitudinal end (25), then transversely outward away of said longitudinal edge (24), characterized in that said at least one longitudinal end (25) of the elongated opening (22) comprises a third slot (30), of generally longitudinal orientation, which extends from said at least an extremity   longitudinal (25) of the opening (22).   2. Box according to the preceding claim, characterized   in that the third slot (30) is rectilinear.   3. Box according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the third slot (30) extends along the axis   longitudinal (AL) of the elongated opening (22).   4.
