Abstract

The case comprises of a main surface (10) that can be wrapped around the handset/communications system. Tabs (11,13) enable the case to be secured in the wrapped state. The tabs are secured to the attachment points by hook and loop fasteners such that the case can be easily and simply adjusted.

Description

The present invention relates to a variable geometry case intended for

  the protection and transport of a communication or mobile telephony device called "mobile phone" or "mobile phone". This case is intended in particular to serve as a medium for advertising and communication. The main functions of a mobile phone case are on the one hand, the protection of the device in particular against bumps and scratches, and on the other hand, to allow the transport thereof in the context of its use mobile. Generally, the case is attached to the belt by means of a particular system, this allowing quick access to the device for making calls or answering a call. Usually, such cases are created and manufactured so as to contain exclusively a single model of telephone, which is explained by the primary function of the case which is to protect said device, this protection being guaranteed by the fact that the case fits perfectly, by wrapping it, the geometry of the device. There are therefore as many different case models as there are

different phones.

  It should be noted that the materials which are used to constitute these cases are rigid or semi-rigid of leather type, or synthetic fabrics, or even those commonly used in the field of luggage. Whatever materials are used to make these cases, they are shaped by a final technical process, in particular by sewing or gluing, which results in their unique and exclusive adaptability to the model of

  phone for which they were designed, to the exclusion of all others.

  However, similarities in formats between the different models of mobile phones, some cases may exceptionally be suitable for several devices. In this case, to adjust to similar formats, we see that certain parts which constitute the case are made of relatively extensible materials. This case remains very exceptional given the great diversity of device formats and the low capacity for adaptation

  provided by stretch materials.

  There is therefore no case compatible with all of the

cell phone models.

  In addition, until today it was not possible to use a cell phone case as a medium for advertising and communication: the main reason is precisely the great diversity of phone models. Indeed, how to make profitable an operation where it would require as many different cases as there are mobile phones? The variable geometry case according to the invention provides here a solution that can be directly exploited by the fact that it will allow advertising operations to be carried out by broadcasting identical cases to targets having mobile phones of different geometries. In addition, the presentation of this case in the form of a flat pre-form also brings significant advantages: the flat manufacturing allows an economic personalization of the case in a single operation by a traditional process (screen printing, offset printing , digital printing); it also allows the distribution of the product by

sent by post in an envelope.

  The object of the present invention is to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks and to produce a geometry mobile phone case.

  With reference to fig. 1, the pre-form of the case is in the form of a horizontal rectangle 10 increased by three legs, one of which is located on the upper part of the rectangle 11, another on the lower part 13 and a third on the right side part 12 of this rectangle. The tab 12 is in the form of a very elongated horizontal rectangle centered on the right side of the rectangle 10. The tab 11 is in the form of a narrow rectangle in the direction of the height.   approximately one third of its surface, relative to the left side.

  Several locations on the front and back of the preform are coated with a more or less large surface of velcro type material, positive or negative. These surfaces are distributed in such a way that once the case has been formed, each surface is located opposite a

  opposite surface allowing attachment either; 15; 16; 17; 18; 19 and 20.

  These velcro-type surfaces can advantageously be replaced

  by another removable or permanent fixing system.

  The volume of the case pre-form allows dressing of the

  mobile phone, in order to constitute its case fig. 6.

  Fig. 1 is a non-exclusive proposition in its design.

  Fig. 2 provides an identification of the different sides of a mobile phone in the context of this demonstration: front face D, back back H, upper face F, lower face G, right lateral side E, left lateral side I. pre-form lying flat, the phone is also placed flat, back H against the pre-form. The vertical median axis of the telephone corresponding substantially to the vertical median axis connecting the tabs 1 1 and 13. The tab 12 is then found on the lateral side I and partly on the rear H of the telephone. This tab 12 then holds the whole of the rectangle 10, by the fixing 15 against 16. The body of the case is thus formed, it is then possible to remove the phone from its case without said case deforming, the different fasteners keeping the entire holster preform in the holster position. The tab 11 is then folded forward on the face D, over the face F, so as to match the surfaces 19 and 20. This tab 11 is used for opening and closing the case. . We also note in this case, that the width of the tab 11 is calibrated to allow the maintenance of the phone in the case leaving a space on either side of itself to allow the antenna of the phone to protrude from the case either on the right or on the left, depending on the

phone configuration.

  The positioning of all the legs in relation to the rectangle implies the direction of winding around the telephone fig. 6. Insofar as the tab 12 is placed on the right side of the rectangle, the alignment of the tabs 11 and 13 being located at the first third of the rectangle 10, the winding will start with the left part, the right part provided with the tab 12 to be found outside for fixing. In the case of a winding in the other direction, the tab 12 would be placed on the left of the rectangle, the alignment of the tabs 1 1 and 13 would be offset to be positioned substantially 2/3

right of the rectangle.

  According to the invention, the perfect adaptability of the preform of case on different models of mobile telephony devices is obtained

  thanks to the variable geometry characterized according to the description

  following: According to the identification of the faces of a mobile telephone device fig.2, and according to the line fig.3 comprising the following indications: L, distance corresponding to the height of the rectangle 10; K, corresponding to the distance between the upper limit of the rectangle 10 and the lower limit of the surface determined according to the distance J; J corresponding to the distance between the upper end for measuring the distance K and the end of the tab 11, this distance J having to be sufficient to allow the flap and the fixing of the end of the tab 11 to the face D; M, corresponding to the distance between the lower limit of rectangle 10 and the upper limit of the surface determined according to the distance N; N corresponding to the distance between the lower end for measuring the distance M and the end of the lug 13, this distance N having to be sufficient to allow the flap and the fixing of the end of the lug 13 on the surface D; O corresponding to the distance between the left lateral edge of the rectangle 10 and the limit of the surface determined according to the distance P; P corresponding to the distance between the right lateral end of the measurement of the distance O and the end of the tab 12, this distance P must be sufficient to allow the flap and the fixing of the tab 12 on the surfaces I or E; The dimensions of the case pre-form are determined according to the dimensions x, y and z of the formats of the smallest as well as the largest telephone likely to be included in the case according to the following formulas:

The material used to make the case preform will be selected from the range of available materials, such as those commonly used in luggage, or other materials capable of fulfilling the same use. For example, let us cite leather, synthetic canvas, flexible or semi-rigid PVC, single or multilayer. In general, the preform of a mobile phone case with variable geometry can be made of any material that a person skilled in the art could select to meet the criteria for protecting and transporting a mobile phone. Various accessories can also embellish the invention, for example and without being restrictive: metal parts, rivets, parts

of plastics.

  One of the possible manufacturing techniques and putting the invention into practice, without this example constituting an obligation, is to carry out the pre-form of the case according to the path in fig. 1 in an assembly of materials composed for example of: a layer of expanded PVC (polyvinylchloride) with a thickness of zero point five millimeters, plus a layer of semi-rigid PVC with a thickness of three hundred microns, plus a layer of 90g printed paper, plus a layer of crystal-like PVC transparent with a thickness of three hundred microns. The paper layer being pre-cut to the shape, all of these four materials are assembled and cut in a single operation called thermo-welding with specific tools. After cutting and assembling the four layers, the layer of printed paper appears through the layer of crystal PVC. According to the locations determined in fig.1, the "velco" type surfaces, positive and negative, are positioned on the preform of the case by heat-sealing or by bonding. To complete the functionalities of the case, two models of fasteners fig. 4 can be produced, one 21 intended for fixing the mobile phone case with variable geometry to the arm or the leg, and the other 22 suitable for attaching said case to different objects such as, for example and without any restriction, on a bag strap or on a bicycle frame. These fasteners can be made of the same material as the case preform. Furthermore, they are partly covered with removable fixing surfaces, for example of the "Velcro" type. They are made integral with the preform of the case by means of four slots 14 provided for shaping in which they are embedded and

  The mobile phone case with variable geometry is particularly suitable for communication operations, and mainly for the following reasons: - the possibility of producing a single model of case which will be suitable, thanks to the invention, to any target, making such a

Claims (6)

  1. Phone and mobile communication device case   variable geometry characterized in that it consists of a pre-   flat case form which gives it the possibility of adapting perfectly to the geometry of most mobile telephone devices when it is set in volume and in that the case pre-form is kept in the state of three-dimensional case by systems of   fasteners allowing different format configurations of said case.   2. Pre-form of a telephone and mobile communication device case, characterized in that the cut-out thereof reveals a rectangular surface (10) from which three protrusions called legs (11), (12) stand out ) and (13), in that these tabs are equipped with a temporary or permanent fixing system, in that the surface (10) constitutes the main body of the case by winding it around the device so as to marry it on four sides, that the tab (12) serves to keep the main surface (10) in shape, that the tab (13) serves to close the lower part of the case, and that the   tab (11) is used to close the upper part of the case.   3. Case preform according to claim 2, characterized in that the material used to make the case preform consists of several layers of cut PVC (polyvinylchloride)   and assembled by thermo-welding or by any other technique.   4. Pre-form of case according to claim 2 and claim 3, characterized in that the PVC layer on the outside is transparent and lets appear the layer below this, and that a layer of paper printed be inserted under the PVC layer   transparent at the time of manufacture.   5. Case preform according to claim 2, claim 3, as well as claim 4, characterized in that a layer of printed paper is slipped under the layer of transparent PVC after   manufacturing through a slit made in this layer of PVC.   6. Case according to claim 1, characterized by a system for fixing the case in the form of a strip of material cut in two parts from one end and up to its half, these two parts coming fit into slots (14) in the back of the case until self-locking fig.4, this strip of   material being equipped with a removable fixing system.
