Abstract

The long, narrow, plastics or metal casing (1) is ogival or similarly convex in cross-section with the apex or nose pointing in the direction of travel. Its rear surface (3-d), at least centrally (3d), is flat, with e.g. 3 vertically aligned slots (4), each supporting a spraying head (5). A butterfly nut tightened on a stud, fixed to a clamping plate within the casing, fixes each head at the required height. The casing's pointed cross-section facilitates passage between close set plant rows. The lateral projection of each head is minimized for the same objective, and the top mounting gives the casing a degree of freedom to swing back on encountering an obstacle. As well as the mounting height, fluid supply to each head is individually controllable. The lowest head opt. provides a single rear-facing nozzle (15) to deliver herbicide.

Device for spraying plant protection products, in particular on trellised vines with narrow spacing (D) between the rows, this device being intended to progress between these rows while being carried by a motor vehicle, characterized in that it comprises a box elongated hollow (1), suspension means (16 to 20) for fixing this hollow box, in an approximately vertical position, to a spraying boom (2) carried by said vehicle, at least one spraying assembly (5 ) equipped with at least one nozzle (11) intended to project said product laterally onto a row of vines, said spraying assembly (5) being mounted adjustable in height on said box (1), and hydraulic connection means (13 , 14) for connecting said spraying assembly (5) to said boom (2), these hydraulic connection means (13,14) being extendable longitudinally inside said box.

2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that said box (1) has in cross section a shape of warhead (3a) whose tip is directed forward in the direction of progression.

3-Device according to claim 2, characterized in that said box (1) has at the rear relative to its direction of progression, a wall (3d) in which is practiced, for each spraying assembly (5), a longitudinal slot (4), said assembly being provided with fixing means (7 to 10) clamping / loosening on the opposite edges of said slot (4), these fixing means, in their loose state, allowing sliding of said assembly the along said slot (4).

4. Device according to claim 3, characterized in that said fixing means comprise a mounting plate (7) for the spray nozzles (11), a backing plate (8) and screwing means (9,10) arranged for attaching said mounting plate (7) to said plywood (8) with interposition of the edges of said slot (4).

5. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the greatest width of the rear face of said box (1) is at least equal to the extent of said spray assembly (5), seen in a transverse plane of said box (1).

6. Device according to any one of claims 2 to 5, characterized in that the cross section of the box (1) has on the lateral sides of its rear face (3d) two oblique facets (3b, 3c) connecting respectively on either side of the ogival section part (3a) of the box (1).

Device according to any one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that said hydraulic connection means comprise at least one flexible pipe (14) wound in a serpentine and disposed in said box (1), to respectively establish the connection between said boom (2) and that of said spraying assemblies (5) being close thereto and, if necessary, between two of said adjacent spraying assemblies (5).

Device according to claim 7, when it depends on any one of claims 4 to 6, characterized in that a connector (13) is provided between each flexible pipe (14) and the associated spraying assembly ( 5), this fitting passing through aligned holes made respectively in said mounting plate (7) and said plywood (8) of the means for fixing the associated spraying assembly.

9. Device according to claim 8, characterized in that each connector (13) comprises an axial end piece (13a) aligned with said holes and a lateral end piece (13b), to allow the respective connection to said flexible pipes (14).

10. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that said suspension means comprise an elastic suspension member (20) interposed between said ramp (2) and said box (1).

11. Device according to claim 10, characterized in that the suspension member (20) cooperates with an elastic stop coming in compression only, when the box (1) rocks forward.

12. Device according to any one of claims 10 and 11, characterized in that it also comprises lateral guide means (22,23) to allow movement of said box (1) only in a plane extending in the direction of progression of the device.

13. Device according to claim 12, characterized in that said lateral guide means (22, 23) are produced in a single piece with the box (1).

14. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 13, characterized in that said spraying assemblies (5) are selectively closable.

15. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 14, characterized in that each spraying assembly (5) comprises two nozzles (11), preferably orientable, to allow lateral spraying on either side of said box ( 1).

16. Device according to any one of claims 1 to 15, characterized in that the lower spraying assembly (5) is equipped with a weeding nozzle (15), hydraulically connected to this assembly and intended to selectively spray a weedkiller when all the other spraying assemblies of the device are closed.
