De telles diodes ont pour avantage, par rapport à des ampesà incandescence, de ne requérir que très peu d'entretien, ce qui est important dans le cas d'éclairages peu accessibles. Les dispositifs existants ont toutefois pour inconvénient de fournir un éclairage peu homogène compte tenu des faisceaux lumineux ponctuels que produisent les diodes. -un barreau en matériau transparent, dont une face d'extrémité est placée à proximité immédiate des diodes et dont l'autre extrémité comporte une cavité aménagée en elle, cette cavité étant délimitée par une paroi dépolie.To this end, the latter includes:

Le volume de la cavité est ainsi fermé, ce qui empche toute introduction de salissures diverses, particulièrement pour une utilisation en extérieur.
