Abstract

The invention concerns spectacles with fast mounting consisting of correction or protection lenses (2) provided at their lateral rims with pins (3) for easy and fast mounting into frames (1) without lower or upper part of lens contour, and provided with tabs (5) comprising notches (6) wherein said pins can be snapped on to fix the lens while enabling its ultimate dismounting. The invention is applicable in the industrial and commercial field concerned with the distribution of articles for correcting sight deficiency or for protecting the eyes.

Description

The subject of the present invention is

quick-fit glasses.

  It concerns the industrial and commercial field of the manufacture and distribution of articles intended to correct deficiencies in the

sight or eye protection.

  Today, more and more commonly, not only in opticians, but in pharmacies and other types of shops, pre-assembled glasses are sold as is, which eliminates the need to cut glasses for each customer, thereby significantly reducing the cost of

  manufacturing and therefore the selling price.

  These glasses, often called "magnifying glasses" are generally placed on a display and have staggered corrective powers, the mention of which is

very apparent.

  The user therefore only has to use and take his glasses directly, which saves him from having to return, after placing his order, to give the optician time to cut the glasses. Their attractive price and their ease of acquisition make these articles a major commercial success. However, they have a number of drawbacks, and in particular: - The two glasses are always the same, while most people do not have the same

deficiency in each eye.

  - It is difficult to offer a large number of different mounts, as this would require having for each type a complete set of corrective powers, which would entail the need to store

  a very large number of articles.

  - For similar reasons, it is hardly possible to propose frames having a

  sought after aesthetic and selling few copies.

  The device according to the present invention eliminates all these drawbacks. Indeed, it allows, with reasonable stocks, to offer customers a wide variety of glasses that can be taken immediately and adapting to most common cases, even if the two eyes do not have the same

visual impairment.

  In addition, while only negative power glasses intended for hypermetropics and presbyopes are authorized to date in France for the magnifying glasses, it can be provided for the glasses with fast assembly according to the invention of the glasses of all types, such as negative power glasses for myopic people, astigmatic glasses, progressive glasses, etc. Similarly, the frames may advantageously be offered with different nose widths to allow the glasses to be adapted to the

  majority of possible cases.

  In addition, the glasses can be replaced independently very easily, in the event of a scratch, break or change in visual impairment over time. Similarly, the frame can be changed at any time by the user, who can thus have

  multiple frames for a single set of lenses.

  The device consists of corrective or protective glasses provided on their lateral edges with dowels making it possible to mount them quickly and easily in frames devoid of the lower part of the glass surround, and equipped with lugs comprising notches in which these dowels can snap in order to secure the glass while possibly allowing it to be dismantled. In the accompanying drawings, given by way of nonlimiting examples of embodiments of the subject of the invention: FIG. 1 shows in axonometric perspective a pair of mounted glasses, FIG. 2 is an enlargement of detail D of the previous figure, figure 3 represents, enlarged and seen from the front, a lens and the part of the frame in which it is intended to be mounted, Figure 4 represents, on a larger scale, two sections following the arrows F2 of the figure 3 and FIGS. 5 and 6 are enlarged representations of two variants of the fixing lugs seen

  along arrow F1 in Figure 2.

  The device, FIGS. 1 to 6, consists of a frame 1 comprising only the upper part of the surround of the glasses, and of 2 optical glasses which can

  be corrector type or simply protective type.

  The glasses 2 made of synthetic material, preferably polycarbonate, are equipped with two dowels 3 driven into blind holes provided for this purpose in the edge of each of their lateral edges and fixed by gluing, screwing, force introduction or any

other suitable means.

  The external end of the dowels 3 will preferably include a "hat" 4 similar to a nail head and whose role is to improve the maintenance of the mounting in the frame 1. The dowel body may be smooth or include a thread or annular grooves ensuring good fixing of the dowel in the glass 2. The frame 1 is provided, at the two ends of each partial surround of glass, with a tab 5 having a certain elasticity and comprising a notch 6 determined to allow the introduction and possibly extraction of a dowel 3, while ensuring good support when it is in place, thanks to a constricted part arranged below

the location of the dowel.

  Alternatively, the notch 6 may include notches 7 allowing the insertion of the pins 3 but not their disassembly. This provision is intended to allow an optician to quickly make pairs of glasses adapted to the needs of his customers, without

  allow them to disassemble them.

  To avoid their pivoting around the pegs 3, the portion of the edge of the lenses in contact with the frame 1 will include a hollow or raised rib 8 corresponding to a molding 9 in relief or

  hollow provided on the internal face of the frame 1.

  Some glasses 2 may have an off-center focus and be symmetrical in relation to the axis connecting the pins 3, so that they can be mounted indifferently in one direction or the other (bottom to top), in order to better adapt the position of the focus of the glass to that of the eye. In this case the rib 8 will be

  carried out all around the edge of the glass.

  The positioning of the various constituent elements gives the object of the invention a maximum of useful effects which had not, to date, been obtained.

Claims (6)

  10. Quick-mounting glasses, intended in particular to replace the pre-assembled glasses and allowing easy assembly of a frame and two optical lenses, the corrective power of which may or may not be identical, characterized by the combination of on the one hand, corrective or protective lenses (2) made of synthetic material comprising a pin (3) implanted in the edge of each of their lateral edges and, on the other hand, of frames (1) devoid of the lower part of the glass surround and equipped, at the two ends of each partial glass surround, with tabs (5) with notches (6) arranged to allow said pins to snap together so as to ensure the glass fixing.   2. Spectacles according to Claim 1, characterized in that the part of the edge of the lenses (2) in contact with the frame (1) has a hollow or projecting rib (8) corresponding to a projecting molding (9) or hollow provided on the internal face of said frame, so as to avoid   pivoting of the glasses around the ankles (3).   3. Glasses according to any of   previous claims, characterized in that   that the glasses (2) have an off-center focus and are symmetrical in relation to the axis connecting the pins (3), so that they can be mounted indifferently in one direction or the other (bottom to top), so adapt the position of the glass focal point to that of the eye. Glasses according to any of   previous claims, characterized in that   that the tabs (5) having a certain elasticity and that the notches (6) comprise a constricted part arranged below the location of the dowel (3) determined to allow the introduction and the extraction thereof while ensuring good support when it is in place.   6. Glasses according to any of   Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that   the legs (5) having a certain elasticity and that the notches (6) include notches (7) allowing the insertion of the pins (3) but not their extraction. 7. Glasses according to any of   previous claims, characterized in that   that the outer end of the dowels (3) has a "cap 4 similar to a nail head intended to   improve the retention of the lenses (2) in the frame (1).   8. Glasses according to any of   previous claims, characterized in that   that the body of the dowels (3) has a thread or annular grooves ensuring good fixing of the peg in the glass (2).
