Abstract

The cover comprises a crown shaped piece (3) comprising three concentric skirts (6,8,12). A first sleeve (13) communicating with the bottle neck (11) has a second rotating sleeve (17) belonging to a cap (5). The cap has an external skirt (18) supported on the free edge (7) of the first skirt. A radial tube in the cap delivers the product according to the angular position of the cap on the bottle.

Description

The main subject of the present invention is a rotary device

  opening and closing a relatively flexible bottle, tube or the like allowing in particular the delivery of a liquid or more or less viscous cosmetic product.

  Devices of the above type have already been proposed

  above, but their structure was often complicated and expensive to manufacture, just as the operation of these devices was not always very reliable, especially when

long.

  Also, the present invention aims to remedy these drawbacks by proposing an opening and closing device, the structure of which remains as simple as possible while guaranteeing the necessary qualities.

  To this end, the subject of the invention is a rotary device for opening and closing a relatively flexible bottle, tube or the like for dispensing a liquid or more or less viscous cosmetic product, characterized in that on the open head of the bottle or tube is clipped a piece in the shape of a crown comprising on one side and concentrically from the outside towards the inside: - a first skirt with a free edge turned towards the outside and bearing on the upper part of the bottle or tube , - a second skirt with a free edge turned inwards so as to be able to hang on a shoulder surrounding the neck of the bottle or tube and - a third skirt penetrating into said neck to form a connection with the inside of the bottle or tube, the other side of said crown-shaped part comprising: - a sleeve or first sleeve integral with this part and opening at one end into the third skirt, while the other end of this first sleeve is closed and has a lateral orifice, - a cap with an external skirt bearing on the free edge facing outwards from the first skirt, and mounted for rotation on the part in the form of a crown, and - a radial tube formed in the cap or in the crown-shaped part and capable of delivering product or not depending on the angular position of the

hat on the bottle or tube.

  According to one embodiment, the cap comprises a second covering sleeve and mounted for rotation on the first sleeve comprising the aforementioned lateral orifice, while the radial tube formed in the cap extends between this second sleeve and the outer skirt of said cap. so as to be able to communicate with the lateral orifice of the first sleeve

  by relative rotation of the cap on the bottle or tube.

  According to another embodiment, the radial tube formed in the crown comes integrally with the first sleeve in line with the aforementioned lateral orifice and is closable by an elastic ring secured to the outer skirt of the hat and carrying a head with slot for

product delivery.

  According to another characteristic, the aforementioned elastic ring is open and passes around an arcuate element made of one piece with the crown-shaped part of the same

side as the first sleeve.

  This device is further characterized in that the first skirt of the piece in the shape of a crown carries a stud crossing a window formed in the outer skirt of the hat and whose width corresponds to an angle at the center

between about 45 and 90.

  According to yet another characteristic of this device, the piece in the form of a crown carries between the first and the second aforesaid skirts a tongue cooperating with a housing coming from the material with the upper part of the bottle or tube to prevent rotation of said

  piece compared to the bottle or tube.

  It will also be specified here that the aforementioned radial tube, on the side of the outer skirt of the cap is closed by a

flexible and notched lid.

  The aforementioned first and second sleeves cooperate in rotation by means of annular grooves and ribs. According to yet another characteristic of the invention, the through end of the radial tube comprises

  a seal cooperating with the aforementioned ring.

  The aforementioned seal advantageously comprises a part which projects laterally from the through end of the radial tube and which is applied elastically.

  We see in Figure 1 a tube 1 which is relatively flexible and which can contain for example a liquid cosmetic product or more or less viscous, and whose head carries a

  rotary opening and closing device 2.

  As can be seen in particular in FIGS. 2 and 4, the device 2 according to this invention essentially consists of two parts, which can be made of a suitable molded plastic, namely a part in the shape of a crown 3 mounted by clipping on the upper part 4 of the tube 1 and on which part is rotatably mounted a

hat or the like 5.

  The crown-shaped part 3 comprises on one side, namely the lower side visible in FIGS. 2 and 4, a plurality of concentric skirts which will be described in

  detail below from outside to inside.

  The part 3 comprises first of all a first skirt 6 whose free edge is turned towards the outside as seen in 7 and which is supported on the upper part 4 of the tube 1

  when the crown 3 is mounted on said upper part.

  The crown-shaped part 3 then comprises a second skirt 8, the free end edge of which is turned inward, as seen in 9, so as to allow the crown 3 to be hooked onto an annular shoulder 10 which surrounds the neck 11 of the tube 1. Finally, the crown-shaped part 3 comprises a third skirt 12 which is shorter than the skirt 8 itself shorter than the skirt 6. This skirt 12 penetrates into the neck 11 of the tube 1 to make a sort of connection with the inside of tube 1 which forms a reservoir for

cosmetic product for example.

  The crown-shaped part 3 comprises on the side opposite to that having the above-mentioned skirts, that is to say the upper side visible in FIGS. 2 and 4, the elements

described below.

  A first sleeve 13 is integral with or integral with the part in the form of a crown 3 and extends upwards from said part. This first sleeve 13 opens into the first skirt 12, in axial alignment with the latter, by its lower end 14 while the other end 15 of the first sleeve 13 is somewhat closed, but nevertheless has a lateral orifice marked at 16 in Figures 4 and 5. More specifically, the orifice 16 is formed in the wall

  of the first sleeve 13 and in the upper part of this sleeve.

  In the embodiment shown in Figures 2 to 5, the cap 5 has a second sleeve 17 which

covers the first sleeve 13.

  This cap 5 comprises a cylindrical outer skirt 18 which bears by its edge on the free edge 7, facing outward, of the first skirt 6 belonging to the

crown shaped piece 3.

  The first sleeve 13 externally has annular grooves 19 cooperating with annular ribs provided inside the second sleeve 17, or the reverse. Thus, the cap 5 is retained by clipping on the first sleeve 13 belonging to the crown 3, while

  can rotate in one direction or another on this sleeve.

  As is clear from FIGS. 4 and 5, a radial tube 21 formed in the cap 5 extends between the

  second sleeve 17 and the outer skirt 18 of said cap.

  This radial tube 21 can communicate with the lateral orifice 16 of the first sleeve 13 by relative rotation of the

cap 5 on tube 1.

  There has been shown at 22 in FIGS. 4 and 5 a flexible cover comprising one or more notches 23. Thus, the radial tube 21 is normally closed by the cover 22, and when it is placed in communication via the lateral orifice 16 with the inside of the tube 1, a pressure on the wall of the tube 1 will allow the ejection of the product by forcing through

notch 23.

  As shown in Figures 3 and 4, the first skirt 6 of the crown 3 externally carries a stud 24. This stud passes through an arched window 25 formed in the outer skirt 18 of the cap 5. The width of the arched window corresponds to a angle at center A of around 90, but it could correspond, without departing from the scope of the invention, to a different angle at center, for example between

about 45 and 900.

  So when the hat 5, relative to the crown

  3, is in the position visible in FIG. 3, that is

  that is to say when the stud 24 abuts on one end of the window 25, the tube 1 will be closed. In other words, the radial tube 21 is not in correspondence with the lateral orifice 16. On the other hand, by causing the cap 5 to rotate through 90 relative to the crown 3, the stud 24 then being at the at the other end of the window 25, there will be a correspondence between the tube 21 and the lateral orifice 16, as can be seen in FIG. 5. The tube 1 will therefore be open and able to deliver product by compression for example, of said tube. 30 has been shown in Figure 3 a small lug secured to the edge of the window 25. This small lug 30 can be either broken or unbroken and crossed by the stud 24 during the rotation of the cap 5. In the latter case , the small lug 30, not having been broken, will oppose the return of the stud 24 to its initial position. That said, in the case of a break or crossing of the small lug 30, the latter constitutes a safety means making it possible to see if

  the tube was opened or not before the purchase.

  It can be seen in FIGS. 3 and 4 that between the first skirt 6 and the second skirt 8, the part 3 in the form of a crown carries a tongue 26 which extends substantially parallel to the skirts 6 and 8. The tongue 26 cooperates with a housing 27 provided on the upper part 4 of the tube 1. Consequently, after mounting and clipping of the part 3 in the form of a crown on the neck 11 of the tube 1, the rotation of said part relative to the tube 1 will be prevented, and this is therefore only the cap 5 which can rotate on the part 3 via the two sleeves

cooperants 13 and 17.

  In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, where the same references have been used to designate the common elements, the radial tube 21 is no longer formed in the cap 5 as described above, but it is provided in

  the crown-shaped part 3, as described below.

  It can be seen that, in this second embodiment, the radial tube 21 comes integrally with the sleeve 13 of the part in the form of a crown 3, and this at

  right of the lateral orifice 16 provided on said sleeve.

  As for the cap 5, it simply cooperates with the first skirt 6 of the crown-shaped part 3, to

rotation on said skirt.

  But here, the outer skirt 18 of the cap 5 carries an elastic ring 50 which is clearly visible in FIG. 7 and which carries a head 51 with a slot 55 allowing the product to be delivered under the effect of a pressure exerted on the tube 1. We see at 56 in Figure 6 that the ring 50 is secured to the skirt 18 of the cap 5, at the delivery head 51, by cooperating shoulders provided on

said hat and said head.

  As can be understood, when the head 51, by rotation of the cap 5, is located in line with the radial tube 21 and therefore the lateral orifice 16 of the part in the form of a crown 3, the product can be dispensed by said head, while the radial tube 21 will be closed by a rotation of the cap such that it is the ring itself 50 which will then act as a shutter on either side of its part comprising the dispensing head 51. We will specify again here that the through end of the radial tube 21 includes a seal 53 (FIG. 6)

cooperating with the ring 50.

  This seal 53, as can be seen in FIG. 9, comprises a part 101 which projects beyond the opening end of the radial tube 21, and this laterally and on one side of the tube 21. The projecting part 101 is elastically applied by a lug or the like 100 against the

ring 50.

  Thus, passing from the open position visible in FIG. 10, to the half-open position visible in FIG. 11, there will be no possibility, at said half-open position, for the product in the tube to penetrate between the skirt 18 of the cap 5 and the crown 3, thanks to the projecting part 101 of the seal 53. In other words, the passage from the half-open position (FIG. 11) to the substantially closed position (FIG. 12), there will be no risk of fouling. of the product opening and closing device in

the tube.

  There has been shown at 52 in FIG. 6, and in dotted lines in FIG. 7, an arcuate element around which the open elastic ring 50 passes. This arcuate element 52 comes in one piece with the crown-shaped part 3 on the same side as the upper part of the sleeve 13 belonging to

  said crown-shaped part 3.

  As clearly appears in FIG. 8, this crown-shaped part 3 comprises on the side of the three skirts 6, 8 and 12, more precisely between the skirts 8 and 12, parallel and spaced ribs 54 defining slots between them. These slots can cooperate with corresponding slots (not shown) carried by the neck 11 of the bottle or tube 1 so as to thus block in rotation the

crown 3 on said neck.

  In this regard, it will be observed that the part in the form of a crown 3 actually comprises two means for blocking the rotation of said part on the neck 11, namely the slots formed by the ribs 54 on the one hand, and the tongue 26 intended to cooperate with the housing 27 as described above. This double arrangement advantageously makes it possible to ensure the rotation blocking of the part in the form of a crown 3 on the neck 11 either on a tube, such as the tube 1 visible in FIG. 1, or on a bottle.

  Indeed, with a bottle obtained by extrusion-

  blowing, slots can be produced perfectly by molding capable of cooperating with the slots 54 of the part in the form of a crown 3. By cons, it is not possible by extrusion-blowing of the bottle, the housing 27 in the upper part of said bottle. But when one is in the presence of a tube whose body is obtained by extrusion and whose head is molded on one of the ends of the tube, then the housing 27 may come from molding with said head. This means that in the case of a tube, the blocking in rotation of the crown-shaped part 3 on the head of the tube will be obtained by the cooperation of the tongue 26 with the housing 27, while if one places the crown-shaped part 3 on a bottle head, the rotation lock can no longer be carried out as previously, but will be ensured by the cooperation of the slots 54 of the crown-shaped part 3 with the corresponding slots coming from material

with the neck of the bottle.

  A compact opening and closing device has therefore been produced according to the invention, of simple mechanical design, which can be mounted very easily by clipping onto the through head of a tube or a bottle and having all the desired qualities d tightness while having excellent reliability, even in the long run, with regard to

  opening and closing operations.

  Of course, the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments described and illustrated which have been given only by way of example. On the contrary, it includes all the technical equivalents of the means described as well as their combinations if these are carried out according to its spirit.

Claims (11)

  1. Rotary device for opening and closing a relatively flexible bottle, tube or the like for dispensing a liquid or more or less viscous cosmetic product, characterized in that a piece is clipped onto the open head of the bottle (1) in the form of a crown (3) comprising on one side and concentrically from the outside to the inside: - a first skirt (6) with a free edge (7) turned towards the outside and bearing on the upper part (4) of the bottle (1), - a second skirt (8) with a free edge (9) turned inward so as to be able to hang on a shoulder (10) surrounding the neck (11) of the bottle (1), and - a third skirt (12) penetrating into said neck to form a connection with the inside of the bottle (1), the other side of said crown-shaped part (3) comprising: - a sleeve or first sleeve (13) integral with this part and opening at one end (14) into the third skirt (12) while the other end (15) of this first sleeve is closed and has a lateral orifice (16), - a cap (5) with external skirt (18) bearing on the free edge (7), facing outward, of the first skirt (6), and rotatably mounted on the crown-shaped part (3), and - a radial tube (21) formed in the cap (5) or in the crown-shaped part (3) and capable of delivering product or not depending on the angular position of the cap (5) on the bottle or tube (1) 2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the cap (5) comprises a second sleeve (17) covering and rotatably mounted on the first sleeve (13) having the aforementioned lateral orifice (16), while the tube radial (21) formed in the cap (5) extends between this second sleeve (17) and the outer skirt (18) of said cap so as to be able to communicate with the lateral orifice (16) of the first sleeve (13) by relative rotation of the cap on the bottle (1). 3. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the radial tube (21) formed in the crown (3) comes integrally with the first sleeve (13) in line with the aforementioned lateral orifice (16) and is closable by an elastic ring (50) integral with the outer skirt (18) of the cap (5) and carrying a head (51) with slot (55) for delivering the product. 4. Device according to claim 1 or 3, characterized in that the aforesaid elastic ring (50) is open and passes around an arcuate element (52) made integrally with the crown (3) on the same side as the first sleeve (13).   5. Device according to one of claims 1 to 3,   characterized in that the first skirt (6) of the part in the form of a crown (3) carries a stud (24) passing through a window (25) formed in the outer skirt (18) of the cap (5) and whose width corresponds at an angle to the center (A) between about 45 and 900.   6. Device according to one of claims 1 to 5,   characterized in that the crown-shaped part (3) carries between the first and second abovementioned skirts (6, 8) a tongue (26) cooperating with a housing (27) made integrally with the upper part (4) of the bottle or tube (1) to prevent rotation of said part relative to the bottle (1).   7. Device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the aforementioned radial tube (21) on the side of the outer skirt (18) of the cap (5), is closed by a   flexible and notched cover (22, 23).   8. Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the first and second aforesaid sleeves (13, 17) cooperate in rotation by means of grooves and annular ribs (19, 20).   9. Device according to claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the through end of the radial tube (21) comprises a seal (53) cooperating with the aforementioned ring (50).   10. Device according to claim 9, characterized in that the seal (53) has a part (101) which projects laterally from the through end of the radial tube (21) and which is resiliently applied by a tab   or the like (100) against the ring (50).   11. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the crown-shaped part (3) comprises on the side o extend the first, second and third skirts (6, 8, 12) of the ribs (54) forming slots cooperating with corresponding slots carried by the neck (11) of the   bottle for blocking the crown in rotation on said neck.
