Abstract

The jewelry making device comprises a body with a matrix (1) which is screwed on a support (2). In the support is a press (3) locked by a copper wire pin (5). A guide system comprising a fin, screwed in a threaded hole (9), ensures the balancing of the device when it is dropped. A transmitter enables recovery of the device. Preferred Features: Metal is placed in a chamber (8) and the device is heated then released. On contact with the ground the copper wire breaks and releases the press which compresses the metal against the support anvil.

  The functioning of the device consists in filling the chamber (mark 8) of the body with the chosen metal, namely gold or silver debris from old jewelry arranged according to the creator's taste, so each compression will become a new jewel original. The shape of the chamber (item 8) and that of the inside end of the press (item 3) gives the shape of the piece of jewelry that one wishes to obtain. The body is heated, 1000 C for gold or 900 C for silver, then dropped from an altitude of 600 feet to a chosen site. The fin ensures the balance of the device during its fall so that, in contact with the ground, the press (item 3) breaks the copper wire (item 5) and compresses the metal in the chamber (item 3) against the heel of the support (item 2). The device can be recovered using the transmitter (item 7). After unscrewing the body (item 4), we obtain the welded jewel. To wear it as a pendant, simply attach a clip of the same metal, which can be set with precious stones. According to the inspiration of the creator, it is thus possible to create a whole range of different jewels (ring, watch, bracelet, necklace, earrings, etc ...) by modifying the shapes of the matrix (reference 1)

and the press (item 3).

  The industrialization of the invention can be achieved by replacing the drop of the device by the action of a mechanical or pneumatic press which will act with the same force. In this case the fin (item 6) and

  the transmitter (item 7) are no longer useful.

  The 350 mm long prototype was made of steel, the body and the fin each measuring 175 mm. Figures 3, 4 and 5 respectively represent the matrix (item 1), the support (item 2) and the press (item 3) which make up the body for assembly: - Item 10: holes for the passage of the centering pins (item 14) of the matrix (item 1) on the support (item 2); - Reference 11: holes for the passage of BTR screws (reference 4); - Reference 12: hole for passage of the copper wire + 2 mm (reference 5); - Item 13: threaded holes e 6 mm for BTR screws (item 4); Mark 14 centering pins t 4.5 mm;

  - 15 hole mark # 6 mm for attachment of the fin (mark 6).

  1) Device for making gold or silver jewelry by compression of the metal. comprising a body, composed of a matrix (item 1) and a support (item 2) in which a press acts (item 3), and of a guide system, composed of a fin (item 6) and of a transmitter (item 7). 2) Device according to claim 1, characterized by the shape of the die (item 1) and that of the press (item 3) which condition the form of the jewel to obtain.   3) Device according to claim 1, characterized by the presence   a heel for anvil use on the support (item 2).   4) Device according to claim 1, characterized by the presence of a copper wire passing through the matrix (item 1), a press (item 3) and the support (item 2) allowing during contact with the ground to break to compress metal.   5) Device according to claim 1. characterized by the presence of a fin (item 6) for balancing during the fall and a   transmitter (item 7) allowing recovery of the device.
