Abstract

The hand basin has a tap over it controlled by a pusher (1) linked to a valve beneath it. The pusher is situated on the front wall of the basin at hip level, projecting from the basin wall and slightly below its lower edge. The pusher is, for example, flat and round, 8 cm in diameter and of chrome-plated brass.

DESCRIPTION

  The present invention relates to a device for controlling the opening of a water tap on a hand basin or any

  countertop with a band on the front.

  This type of device is intended to equip hand hygiene fountains in hospitals and in general in all health establishments.

  Indeed, in this area as in that of agro-

  food, there should be no hand contact with any part of the tap to open or close it10 to avoid the risk of contaminating the hands again.

  The opening and closing of this type of tap is traditionally carried out by one of the following devices: - foot control by pedal or any other device incorporated into the ground above the lavavo (type 1) - femoral control either by a rod or by an actuator connected to the sink by a pivoting part (type 2) - control on the front of the sink by pivoting an articulated part of the strip. (type 3) - control by infrared cell mounted either on the device, or on the tap or in the environment of the device (walls, ceiling ...) (type 4) For reasons of ease of cleaning soils, the

  type 1 solution is increasingly abandoned.

  From an ergonomic point of view, type 2 and 3 controls are not optimal because they require users to more or

  less contorting to activate the valve opening.

  For financial and reliability reasons (sensitivity to disturbances due to passing in front of the device), type 4 solutions do not meet with full acceptance

users.

  The type 3 device very close to that of the invention is characterized by an alignment of the control part with the rest of the device, which annoys the user in the

tap opening process.

  The device according to the invention overcomes this drawback. It indeed comprises a part: - of flat and round shape of diameter 8 cm -2 - - in chromed brass - protruding from the front face of the device at an interval

  equivalent to its stroke plus a clearance of 5 to 10 mm.

  - slightly offset from the bottom of the device's headband - of the order of 2 cm to be able to further improve its percussion. According to particular embodiments: - the front surface of the control part can be flat or curved - the material can be adapted to the environmental environment of

  the appliance: coated with epoxy or teflon paint for agro-

food for example.

  - the control member (1) can be coated with a composite part of any shape, in the same tone or in a color different from that of the apparatus. The attached drawings illustrate the invention: FIG. 1 shows in perspective the type of device on which the invention is in principle mounted as well as the location of the device for controlling the opening of the water tap. FIG. 2 shows in section, the detail of this

  implantation in relation to the front strip of the device.

  Figure 3 shows a hand basin viewed from above with the pusher (1) offset from the axis of the device and slightly protruding. With reference to these drawings, the push button (1) is the main member which allows the tap to be opened by acting with the operator's right upper thigh by

  a forward movement towards the device.

  The timed tap (2) is then activated and sends the water

towards the spout (3).

  In the figure (1) represented the application is made on

  a hand-washing hygiene fountain intended for hospitals and in general for all health establishments, which is also the subject of a model filing.

RESELL ICATION   1) Device for controlling the opening of a water tap for a washbasin or hand basin, characterized in that it   comprises a member (1) disposed at the level of the upper part of the thigh of the user.   2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the control button (1) is projecting from the strip   front of the washing machine and possibly slightly below its lower edge.   3) Device according to any one of claims   previous characterized in that the water opening control is effected by a simple tilting movement of the   body of the user forward until hitting the tap button without using the hands.
