Abstract

DOUBLE LATCH LOCK

  The present invention relates to a double bolt lock preferably used on roller shutter boxes, but which can be implemented

on similar fittings.

  Traditionally, all locks of this type use a standard, axial closing element, or a single bolt. In both

case, the closure is insecure.

  The object of the present invention is to increase the security of this type of closure without having to resort to locks of more complex construction.

  An additional feature of the double bolt lock according to the invention is that it effectively fulfills its function on doors arranged in operation both coplanar and perpendicular to the frame in which the keeper is located. That is to say that it admits several montages (coplanar, angled, left, right) with

The present invention relates to a double bolt lock mounted in a housing (1) provided with a removable cover (2) in which is mounted a barrel (3) capable of being actuated axially by a

  key (4) and having an eccentric post.

  The housing (1) and the cover (2) are assembled

by screws (9).

  -3- According to the invention, and according to the embodiment shown, inside the housing (1) protrude axes (11) on which toothed wheels (5) are mounted respectively to free rotation. Each of said toothed wheels (5) rotating in opposition to each other comprises grooves (51) capable of receiving in a fixed manner in rotation bolts (7) which, for this purpose, have a notched orifice (71) complementary. The toothed wheel (5) and the bolt (7) mounted on said wheel, are

united in rotation.

  According to the invention, and according to the embodiment shown, in the housing (1) is a central body (6) guided linearly movable

between two extreme positions.

  4t The central body (6) comprises opposing racks (61), which mesh with the respective toothed wheels (5) above and, on its face opposite the removable cover, a transverse housing (62) in which s engages the eccentric axial lug of the

barrel (3).

  Thanks to this construction and this arrangement, the rotation of the barrel (3) controlled by a key (4) causes a linear displacement of the central body (6) and, consequently, the rotation of the toothed wheels (5) in opposition to the displacement linear of the central body and bolts (7) integral with the latter to reach the open / closed positions. We obtain a frontal engagement of the bolts (7) in the keeper (8) when the lock is arranged

  perpendicular to the frame (Figure 6).

CLAIMS R E V E N D I C A T I O â-â   1. Double bolt lock, characterized in that it comprises a housing (1) provided with a removable cover (2) in which there is a barrel (3) with axial actuation provided with an eccentric lug, housing of which protrude axes (11) on which are respectively mounted freely rotating toothed wheels (5) which mesh in opposite racks (61) extended by a central body (6) guided in said housing, which central body (6) comprises, on its face opposite the removable cover, a transverse housing (62) in which engages the eccentric pin of the axially actuated barrel to move said body linearly in its rotation, said toothed wheels (5) having the characteristic of turning in opposition to the linear movement of the central body, and to include grooves (51) for receiving in rotation integral bolts (7), which rotate in opposition to each other, integrally with said toothed wheels es between two opening / closing positions by actuation of the axial barrel by means of a key (4), the closure being   ensured by a double bolt in the strike (8).
