Abstract

The baby cot cover (5) is of flexible sun shading material or water resistant material which encloses the infant and cot. An arcuate cover support (6) has fixings (12) at its free ends to removably engage on lateral mountings on the cot (1).

Description

 The present invention relates to a protective device for a child's resting or the like, in particular for a "deckchair".

 I1 is well known to place a child in a semi-reclining position in a so-called "deckchair" when you want the child to rest comfortably. This deckchair includes a canvas, possibly padded, provided with loops at its periphery, and a bent tube frame engaged in these loops.

 The current resting places do not make it possible to ensure the protection of the child against the sun, the rain or against mosquitoes or other insects, when the deckchair is used outside.

 The invention aims to remedy this major shortcoming in a simple, effective and inexpensive manner.

To this end, the device it concerns includes
- a flexible protective envelope, such as a sun shade, a mosquito net, a piece of waterproof synthetic material, capable of largely enveloping the rest of the restroom and of the child, and
- A hoop comprising two fixing means at its free ends, capable of being engaged removably on two lateral uprights of the rest, this hoop making it possible to constitute a support frame for said envelope in height, at a distance from the child.

 A deckchair or the like can thus be fitted with a flexible protective cover capable of being kept by the roll bar away from the child.

 Advantageously, the arch is shaped so that these fixing means can be placed at several different relative distances.

 A standard hoop can thus be adapted on rests of different widths, depending on the size or brand of the rest used.

 The hoop could, in this case, be made of a semi-rigid material, having sufficient flexibility to allow adequate spacing of its fixing means. Preferably, however, it is made up of three parts, namely two L-shaped parts, and a tubular part; each of the L-shaped parts has a branch which forms the lateral upright of the arch and which includes the fixing means at its free end; these same branches of the two parts have substantially the same length, so that the other two branches are coaxial when these parts are mounted on the rest, these other branches being engaged and able to slide in said third part.

 Each fixing means is advantageously constituted by two pieces forming a jaw, each defining a recess substantially in a semicircle to allow the engagement of these jaws on a corresponding tubular upright of the rest, and by a knurled nut bolt, to allow tightening. of these jaws.

 For a good understanding, the invention is again described below with reference to the appended diagrammatic drawing representing, by way of nonlimiting example, a preferred embodiment of the device which it concerns.

 FIG. 2 represents a repository 1 of the "deckchair" type, comprising a fabric 2 provided with loops at its periphery, a frame 3 of bent tube engaged in these passers-by, and a base 4, also of bent tube, connected to this frame 3 by suitable connecting pieces.

 On this deckchair 1 can be mounted a protection device comprising an envelope 5 and an arch 6.

 The envelope 5 is made of flexible material.

Depending on the case, this envelope 5 can be made of an opaque fabric forming a sun visor, of an openwork material suitable for constituting a mosquito net, or of an impermeable synthetic material.

 As shown in Figure 2, the envelope 5 is capable of largely enveloping the entire resting room 1 and a child placed on the latter.

 The arch 6 is more particularly shown in FIG. 1.

 It is made up of three parts 10, 11, namely two L-shaped parts 10, and a tubular part 11.

Each of the parts 10 has a branch 10a which forms the lateral upright of the arch 6 and which includes a fixing assembly 12 at its free end. The branches 10a have the same length, so that the two other branches 10b are coaxial when the parts 10 are mounted on the rest 1. The branches 10b are engaged and can slide in the tubular part 11.

 The fixing assemblies 12 are constituted by two parts 13 forming a jaw and by a knurled nut bolt 14 passing through these parts 13.

 Each of the parts 13 defines a recess 15 substantially in a semicircle to allow the engagement of the fixing assemblies 12 on the corresponding tubular uprights of the repository 1. The knurled nuts 14 are loosened to allow the spacing of the parts 13 for this engagement, and are tightened to maintain the arch 6 on the rest 1.

 Thanks to the device according to the invention, a rest or the like can be equipped with a flexible protective envelope maintained by the roll bar at a distance from the child, which makes it possible to ensure perfect protection of the child.

Claims (4)

 1 - Protective device for a child's rest or the like, characterized in that it comprises  a flexible protective envelope (5), such as a sunshade, a mosquito net, a piece of waterproof synthetic material, capable of largely enveloping the entire resting room (1) and of the child, and  - an arch (6) comprising two fixing means (12) at its free ends, capable of being engaged removably on two lateral uprights of the rest (1), this arch (6) making it possible to constitute a support frame for said envelope ( 5) in height, away from the child.  2 - Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the hoop (6) is shaped so that its fixing means (12) can be placed at several different relative distances.  3 - Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the arch (6) consists of three parts, namely two parts (10) in the form of L, and a tubular part (11); each of the L-shaped parts (10) has a branch (10a) which forms the lateral upright of the arch (6) and which comprises the fixing means (12) at its free end; these same branches (10a) of the two parts (10) have substantially the same length, so that the other two branches (lOb) are coaxial when these parts (10) are mounted on the rest (1), these other branches (lOb ) being engaged and able to slide in said third part (11).  4 - Device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that each fixing means is constituted by two parts (13) forming a jaw, each defining a recess (15) substantially in a semicircle to allow the engagement of these parts (13) on a corresponding tubular upright of the rest (1), and by a knurled nut bolt (14), to allow the tightening of these fixing means (12).
