Abstract

The lamp for a decorative lighting arrangement has a multiple of tungsten filaments (26), which are arranged between two supply line wires (21,22) at different heights above a glass pinching point. A first tungsten filament at the end of the supply wire facing away from the glass pinching and a second tungsten filament are arranged near the glass pinching point between the supply line wires.

Description

 The present invention relates to a lamp bulb for a decorative lamp assembly and, more specifically, such a bulb which produces several spots of light when it is powered.

 Figures 1 and 1A show a decorative lamp assembly comprising a network of an electric wire and several lamps placed on the network. The bulb 10 of each lamp has two supply wires 11, 12, a part 14 for pinching glass molded onto the wires 11, 12 at the bottom so that these wires 11, 12 are held in parallel, and a filament 15 of tungsten connected between the wires 11, 12 near the upper part.

When electricity is transmitted to the bulb 10, the tungsten filament 15 heats up and emits light.

This bulb structure works but is unattractive because it only produces a spot of light when it works. In addition, when the tungsten filament is broken, the bulb does not work and becomes unusable.

 The present invention has been made in view of the drawbacks of the prior art. Its main purpose is to produce a lamp bulb for a decorative assembly which gives several spots of light when it is powered. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the bulb comprises two tungsten filaments which are connected between two supply wires at different heights above the glass nipping part on the supply wires. When the bulb is powered, the two tungsten filaments are electrically connected and each emit light.

When one tungsten filament is broken, the other still works.

 We refer to Figure 2; a bulb 20 is mounted in a base 23 of plastic. The bulb 20 has two supply wires 21, 22, a pinched part of glass 200 molded on the wires 21, 22 at the bottom so that the wires 21, 22 are held in parallel, two output wires 24, 25 which feed respectively from the supply wires 21, 22, a first tungsten filament 26 connected between the wires 21, 22 near the upper part and a second tungsten filament 27 connected between the wires 21, 22, at a certain distance between the first filament 26 and the glass pinching member 200. When the bulb 20 is inserted into the base 23 of plastic material, the wires 24, 25 come out of the lower end of the base 23, then are folded towards the inside and fixed intimately to the two opposite sides of the lower part of the base 23. When the base 23 is introduced into a plastic lamp holder (not shown), the wires 24, 25 are brought into contact with respective electrical terminals of a electric wire ue connected to the lamp holder.

 FIG. 3 represents a decorative assembly 30 of lamps produced according to the invention, in which several lamps are fixed to a network of an electric wire and are controlled.

 Figure 4 is an enlarged view of part of the decorative assembly 30, showing a number of the bulbs 20 in operation and a number of the bulbs 20 which are not in operation.

 Of course, various modifications can be made by those skilled in the art to the bulbs which have just been described solely by way of nonlimiting example without departing from the scope of the invention.

Claims (2)

 1. Bulb of decorative lamp assembly with lamps, characterized in that it comprises several tungsten filaments (26, 27) connected between two supply wires (21, 22) at different heights above the part pinch (200) of glass on the supply wires (21, 22)  2. Bulb according to claim 1, characterized in that a first filament (26) of tungsten is connected between the supply wires (21, 22) at a first end remote from the pinched part (200) of glass, and a second filament (27) of tungsten is connected between the supply wires (21, 22) near the pinched part (200) of glass.
