Abstract

The chain and pinion mechanism drive provides a compact height adjusting assembly fitting within each bed support post. The hospital bed consists of vertical support posts (2) with cross rails (30) extending between the posts. The posts are hollow with a chain (4) extending from the top to the bottom of each hollow post. A transverse rotary shaft (60) extends from a position under the cross rail to support a pinion inside the hollow post. The teeth of the pinion engage the chain, so that by rotation of the pinion the shaft, pinion and cross rail may be raised or lowered on the chain. The chain forms an S-shape around the pinion, and around a second pinion. The shaft is linked to an electric motor (5) and gear box mounted centrally under the bed support cross rail (30).

Une grande partie des lits de soins qui équipent actuellement les hôpitaux ct les institutions médicalisées sont équipés d'un cadre muni de roulettes, sur lequel sont prévus de moyens de soulèvement et d'abaissement du sommier de lit, en direction verticale. - ladite chaîne engrène, du côté de son extrémité supérieure, d'abord avec Ic pignon d'entraînement pour former une première boucle, puis avec le pignon fou pour former une seconde boucle orientée dans le sens inverse;
- ladite plaque comporte des galets de guidage à l'intérieur du pied;
- chaque pied en forme de profilé creux comporte une ouverture verticale de section circulaire, dont les extrémités haute et basse sont aptes à recevoir des équipements additionnels, par emmanchement ou vissage;
- lesdits équipements additionnels aptes à être mis en place dans les extrémités basses des pieds consistent en des roulettes, tandis que ceux aptes à être mis en place dans les extrémités hautes sont des instruments à usage médical, tels que des potences ou porte-sérums
- le moteur-réducteur équipant la tête de lit est pilotable indépendamment de celui du pied de lit;
- il comprend des panneaux de tête et de pied de lit qui sont fixés auxdits pieds en forme de profilés creux.According to other advantageous but non-limiting characteristics:
