Abstract

The nut cracker has two branches (4,5) that are articulated round an articulation. The upper branch (5) has a bevelled or triangular point (8) which is pushed into the slot of the nut (2). The branches have two concave compartments and the nut is held in the compartment (3) in the lower branch (4). The point can be the tip of a small screw on the end of a bolt (6) through the upper branch. It is turned by a handle (7) at the top of the bolt after the branches have been brought closer, to hold the nut.

Les noix sont des fruits très comestibles et la seule raison qui diminue sa consommation est le fait qu'il soit difficile à extraire de sa coque. Pour cela plusieurs inventions concernant l'extraction du fruit ont été proposées. Certaines préconisent la prise en tenaille de la noix entre deux branches pour la casser. Or dans ces cas la noix est écrasée avec sa coquille et il devient donc embarrassant d'en trier les morceaux. Deux autres inventions (FR-A-2 343 460 et 2 678 501) proposent l'ouverture de la noix grâce à un ustensile en forme de fer de lance. Mais du fait que l'ouverture se fait de maniére manuelle, certaines noix dont la fente ne présente pas de saillie ne pourront s'ouvrir. Nuts are very edible fruits and the only reason that decreases its consumption is the fact that it is difficult to extract from its shell.
