Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a utensil for opening the nuts without breaking them.
Nuts are very edible fruits and the only reason that decreases its consumption is the fact that it is difficult to extract from its shell. For this, several inventions concerning the extraction of the fruit have been proposed. Some advocate the pincer grip of the nut between two branches to break it. However in these cases the nut is crushed with its shell and it therefore becomes embarrassing to sort out the pieces. Two other inventions (FR-A-2 343 460 and 2 678 501) propose opening the nut using a spear-shaped utensil. But because the opening is done manually, some nuts whose slot does not have a projection cannot be opened.
The nut opener according to the invention is characterized in that it separates the nuts in two parts. The fruit can then be recovered without difficulty and without the presence of shell debris.
The method according to the invention consists in driving a beveled or triangular-shaped point into the slot of a nut.
Two cases can arise: (a) - the nut is spread thanks to the depression in its slot of the beveled point.
(b) - la noix est écartée grâce à la rotation de la pointe enfoncée dans sa fente.(b) - the nut is spread thanks to the rotation of the point pressed into its slot.
Thus, according to the two principles set out, the nut opener can be produced in several modes. Among which two modes are presented in FIGS. 1a, 1b and 2a, 2b, 2c.
According to the first embodiment (Figures la, lb), the device (1) consists of a nut clamp and a tip; the nut (2) is placed in the cavity (3) of a branch (4), it is then clamped with a second branch (5) whose part close to the nut, necessarily concave, has a point (6) which sinks into the nut when it is nicked.
The two branches according to the invention can be articulated in the manner of a pincer (Figure 1b) or a traditional nutcracker (Figure 1a).
According to the second embodiment (Figures 2a, 2b, 2c), the device (1) consists of a nut clamp and a point placed at the end of a bolt articulated by a wrist or a lever. The nut (2) is placed in the cavity (3) of a branch (4), it is then tightened with a second branch (5) whose part close to the necessarily concave nut has a triangular point held by a bolt ( 6) which can be actuated by a wrist (7) or a lever in the manner of a corkscrew or a screwdriver. The triangular tip may also have a screw (8) to facilitate its penetration into the nut slot in order to have a better possibility of opening the nut. However even in the absence of the screw, the said utensil according to the invention can open the nut.
According to the second embodiment of the device, we can have (FIG. 2c) two concave compartments (2) and (3) articulated so that they can trap the nut (1). The device according to the invention comprises at least on one of its compartments a beveled or triangular point (4) placed at the end of a bolt parallel to said compartment. The bolt is operated by a lever or a wrist (5).
