Abstract

The invention concerns a device for forming a retractable, removable level top (16), adjustable in height, for use in particular in cramped spaces such as, for instance, the rear seat of a vehicle. The invention is characterised in that it consists of an attaché case (10) provided with an articulated lid which when it is open has an internal surface forming a level top (16), and a magnetic plate (18) on the back of the attaché case (10) body, for fixing it to a support comprising a metal surface, while making it removable. When used in a motor vehicle, the metal surface comprises two identical supports, both consisting of a horizontal element (1), to be fixed on the headrest, at the top of the front seat, and of a vertical element (2) characterised in that it is articulated to the horizontal element (1) for adjusting in depth, and a metal plate facing the user for fixing the attaché case-level top at the desired height, notwithstanding the variations in distance between the supports while ensuring the removable nature of the attaché case.
