Abstract

A lifter, designed to raise the contents of a container (6) as it is emptied to facilitate the removal of remaining items, consists of a platform (1) which is shaped to fit in a standard container and is connected by traction springs (2, 3) to clips (4, 5) which engage with the container's upper edges (7, 8). The platform can be fitted with traction springs which are stronger at the rear of the container than at the front so that the platform is tilted towards the front of the container as it is emptied, giving easier access to the remaining items inside it. The platform, springs and clips are easily fitted and removed and can be supplied, for example, in kit form.
