Abstract

A closing strip, e.g. for a bag which can be re-sealed after opening and some of its contents used, consists of female (10) and male (20) components attached to supporting strips (11, 21) and engaging with one another when pressed together. The projecting ridge (23) of the male component fits between two in-turned ribs (13, 15) on the female one. The female component is equipped with a pair of sealing lips (16, 18) outside the ribs, extruded as a part of the female component and fitting against the base (22) of the male component when the closure is sealed to prevent penetration by particles or powder from the contents of the bag.
