Abstract

A closing strip, e.g. for a bag which can be re-sealed after opening and some of its contents used, consists of female (10) and male (20) components attached to supporting strips (11, 21) and engaging with one another when pressed together. The projecting ridge (23) of the male component fits between two in-turned ribs (13, 15) on the female one. The female component is equipped with a pair of sealing lips (16, 18) outside the ribs, extruded as a part of the female component and fitting against the base (22) of the male component when the closure is sealed to prevent penetration by particles or powder from the contents of the bag.

Description

The present invention relates to the field of

  closure for packaging, in particular resealable bags.

  Many types of profiles have already been proposed for this purpose.

  Examples of such profiles are described in documents EP-

  A-384588, US-A-4731911, EP-A-0516393, US-A-5065899, EP-A-0621197, US-A-

424628 &

  The simplest profiles consist of a pair of complementary profiles: one male, the other female adapted to receive

the aforementioned male profile.

  The known profiles are generally satisfactory.

  However, it is sometimes observed that the product contained in the sachet penetrates into the female profile - either during the initial filling of the sachet, or during a partial subsequent withdrawal of the product - and thus disturbs the initial engagement or the subsequent re-engagement of the profiles. This annoying penetration of the product is particularly important in the

  case of particulate product, especially for powdery product.

  The object of the present invention is to eliminate this drawback.

  This object is achieved in the context of the present invention thanks to a female type closure profile for resealable packaging, characterized in that it comprises on the top of the elements making up the female profile, flexible wings which prohibit or limit the penetration of particulate product into the female profile, while allowing the insertion of a complementary male profile in said

female element.

  We can see in this figure, two complementary profiles, one female 10, the other male 20, capable of successive engagement / disengagement to allow respectively the closing and opening of a

associated packaging.

  These sections 10, 20 may have come from extrusion with a film forming the packaging, or may be integral with respective strips 11, 21 designed to be fixed by any suitable means, for example by

heat sealing, on such a film.

  According to the representation of the appended figure, the female profile 10 comprises two generally planar elements 12, 14, parallel to each other and orthogonal to the strip 11, provided near their top and on their internal surface with respective projecting ribs 13, 15 , converging towards the strip 11 and forming a concave opening contour

for female profile 10.

  This male section 20 itself has a base element 22 generally planar and orthogonal to the strip 21, which comprises at its top a symmetrical and tapered protuberance 23 adapted to penetrate into the female element 10 and engage with the ribs 13 , 15. Of course, the geometry of the sections 10, 20 shown in the appended figure is given only by way of nonlimiting illustration. The present invention applies to all types of complementary female and male profiles. According to the invention, as can be seen in the appended figure, the female section 10 is provided on the top of the elements 12, 14, with flexible wings 16, 18 which prohibit or limit the penetration of particulate product into the female section 10, while authorizing the insertion of the

complementary male profile 20.

  These flexible wings 16, 18 are preferably extruded with the female profile 10. However, as a variant, said flexible wings 16, 18 can be attached, for example heat-sealed, to the top of the

items 12, 14.

  The flexible wings 16, 18 are placed on the outside of the internal chamber of the female profile 10 opposite the opening contour

of it.

  They converge away from the support strip 1 1 and in

  direction of their free ends.

  The flexible wings 16, 18 are preferably symmetrical with respect to the median plane of opening of the female profile 10. However, this

  condition is not always imperative.

  The flexible wings 16, 18 are tapered in the direction of their

free end.

  They generally form in combination a convex dihedral particularly suitable for preventing the penetration of powder, by sliding of the pulverulent product on their external surface. By way of nonlimiting example, at rest the flexible wings 16, 18 have an average inclination of the order of 20 relative to the support strip 10 and the interval between the free ends of the flexible wings 16, 18 is at

maximum of the order of 0.2 mm.

  Those skilled in the art will however easily understand that the flexible wings 16, 18 do not in any way disturb the engagement of the male section 20,

  since they are elastically erased during this engagement.

  Of course, the present invention is not limited to the embodiment which has just been described, but extends to all variants

conform to his spirit.

  In particular, as indicated above, the invention is not

  not limited to the geometry of the profiles illustrated in the appended figure.

  The invention can for example be applied to profiles comprising on the same strip, several complementary female profiles each provided with flexible wings 16, 18 or even to complementary profiles facing 10, 20, both formed of the type

  female and each provided with flexible wings 16, 18.

Female-type closure profile for resealable packaging, characterized in that it comprises on the top elements (12, 14) composing the female profile (10), flexible wings (16, 18) which prohibit or limit the penetration of particulate product into the female profile (10), while allowing the insertion of a male profile (20)   complementary in said female element (10).   2. Profile according to claim 1, characterized in that the flexible wings (16, 18) converge away from the support strip   (11) of said profile (10) and in the direction of their free ends.   3. Profile according to one of claims 1 or 2, characterized by   the fact that the flexible wings (16, 18) are symmetrical with respect to a plane   opening profile of the female profile (10).   4. Profile according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized by the   causes the flexible wings (16, 18) to be tapered towards their free end.   5. Profile according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized by the   causes the flexible wings (16, 18) to form a convex dihedral.   6.
