Abstract

The detection method uses a flow meter with magnetic contacts. When water flows either for use or because of a leak the contacts operate at a preset sensitivity and operate a timer relay (4). The timer relay activates two timing units (5,6). The first unit (5) prevents premature water valve (7) closure and the second (6) defines the time beyond which the water valve should close. Two further relays (8,9) close the water valve and maintain it closed as well as illuminating a visual alarm (11). The system may be reset by a contact (10).
