Abstract

The alternator comprises the brush carrier plate (18) made of insulating material and fixed to the rear bearing (10) of the alternator which is made of conducting material. The plate includes the electronic DC voltage regulator (34) contained within a metal box fixed against the brush-carrying plate. The connection pads (38) for the electronic voltage control extend axially through an orifice (22) in the brush carrying plate to make contact with the metal conductors (40) integrated within the plate. The metal box of the electronic voltage regulator (34) covers the orifice in the plate so that the connections are held within a sealed container defined by the brush carrier plate (18) and the rear bearing (10) of the alternator.
