Abstract

A small case with a window (3) for holding and presenting a piece is made by folding several cut-out panels from a cardboard blank. The blank has a principal front panel (5), containing the presentation window towards its first end (6), and a second end (13). There are two adjoining side panels (7,8), a principal rear panel (9) and a fixing flap (10). Two flap assemblies (14,16,18,19) adjoining the first and second ends form, after folding, closing end flaps for the case. Two side openings (24,25), for holding the piece contained in the case, are near the first end and near the window in two zones (28,29) limited by longitudinal folding lines (31,32,34,35) and transverse cutting lines (33,36).

CARDBOARD BLANK, BOX MADE FROM SUCH A BLANK,
PACKAGE COMPRISING SUCH A BOX AND METHOD OF MAKING
OF SUCH A PACKAGE
The invention relates to a cardboard blank intended for the production of a box having a window for holding and presenting a part of the contents of the box; a box made from the blank; a package including the box and its contents; and the method of making such a package.

 We already know a cardboard blank intended for the production of a box having a window for holding and presenting a part of the contents of the box.

 Such a blank comprises several cut panels connected between by grooved fold lines.

These panels include
- a front main panel provided with a presentation window towards its first end, and a second end
- two adjoining side panels
- a rear main panel adjoining one of the two side panels
- a solidarity component,
placed one after the other and linked together by grooved parallel longitudinal folding lines, the assembly being able to form, after folding and joining, a tubular case,
- Two sets of flaps adjoining the first and second ends respectively, capable of forming, after folding and joining, a first and a second end closure of said case.

 In the known blank, there are also two openings for lateral retention of a part of the contents of the box, arranged towards the first end of the front main panel on either side and near the presentation window, in two zones. limited by grooved longitudinal fold lines and transverse cut lines, these two zones being located astride the front main panel and the side panels, and in which the fold lines of the side panels are interrupted.

 I1 is also provided sections of longitudinal fold lines formed in these areas overlapping the lateral holding openings.

 This structure is such that the main front panel forms, between the two said zones, a narrower part where the window is located.

 In the box produced, the two zones are folded inwards.

 The set of flaps adjoining the first end comprises a main flap extending the narrow part of the main front panel and connected to it by a grooved line of transverse folding.

This main component includes
- a first narrow zone adjoining the narrow part of the main front panel
- a second enlarged zone adjoining the first narrow zone, capable of closing the end of the case
- a third wide zone extending from the second enlarged zone but separated from it by a grooved line of transverse folding.

 Such a blank makes it possible to produce a box in which a plurality of parts are enclosed.

 In a known application, these parts are externally in the form of a plastic shell.

 Such a shell comprises a protruding flange coming to cooperate with notches of longitudinal direction formed in the lateral holding openings.

 Thanks to this structure, a part of the contents of the box, limited by its shell is held opposite the window, which has many advantages from a marketing point of view.

 However, it has been observed that this structure could present risks of seeing the shell dissociate from the notches formed in the lateral holding openings.

 This risk is all the more important when the distance between the front main panel and the rear main panel is greater than the thickness of the shell. However, this situation occurs when the box produced is of a sufficiently large capacity.

 To remedy this drawback, provision has been made to place in the box a separate added separation forming a wedge for the hull maintained in the window.

 However, this embodiment has the drawback of causing over-consumption of cardboard and making mechanization more complex.

 The invention therefore aims to provide a cardboard blank of the type mentioned above which at the same time solves the problem of maintaining the part limited by a shell held in the window and allows efficient mechanization.

 To this end, the invention provides a blank of the type mentioned above such that on the one hand it is provided with cutting segments and grooved folding segments formed in the main flap, capable of allowing the formation, by folding, of a stop block intended to be placed in the box under the window, and on the other hand, the third zone has a sufficient longitudinal length so that, after folding, it comes opposite the window.

According to another characteristic, it is arranged on the main shutter
- two cutting segments, of general longitudinal direction, spaced from one another and facing one another
- a first and a second grooved segment of end-folding, in transverse direction, connecting the two cutting segments at their ends
- a grooved segment of median folding, of transverse direction, connecting the two cutting segments in their median zone.

 According to another aspect, the invention relates to a box produced from a blank according to the invention, folded and secured on itself.

 Such a box comprises, adjoining the window, a double display block and, opposite the window, a stop block, the assembly ensuring the maintenance of a piece of content in the window for its presentation.

 According to another aspect, the invention relates to a package comprising a box according to the invention and a content placed in the box including a part held and presented in the window.

 Finally, according to a last aspect, the invention relates to a method of producing such a package in which one starts from a flat blank; the display wedge is formed by folding; a piece of the content is placed on the display hold thus produced; the bumper block is folded over the part; and we close the box.

 Figures 2 and 3 are schematic views illustrating the box according to the invention in two successive stages of production.

 The invention relates to a cardboard blank 1. This blank 1 is intended for the production of a box having a window 3 for holding and presenting a part 4 forming part of the content of box 2.

 In general, the box 2 contains a plurality of parts such as 4.

 The blank 1 comprises several cut panels linked together by grooved fold lines.

These panels are as follows
a main front panel 5 provided with the presentation window 3, the latter being situated towards a first end 6 both of the blank 1 and of the box 2.

 - two side panels 7, 8 adjoining the main front panel 5.

a rear main panel 9 adjoining a side panel, in particular panel 7, and
- an adjoining shutter 10, in this case the rear main panel 9 opposite the side panel 7.

 These panels 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are placed one after the other, as indicated. They are connected together by grooved parallel longitudinal folding lines. In particular, there is a fold line 11 between the front main panel 5 and the side panel 7 and a fold line 12 between the front main panel 5 and the side panel 8.

 The panels 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10 make it possible, after folding and joining, to form a tubular case open at both ends.

 The blank 1 also includes two sets of flaps adjoining the first end 6 and the opposite second end 13 respectively. These two sets of flaps are capable of forming, after folding and securing, a first and a second end closure of the previously mentioned case.

 Towards the first end 6, the first set of flaps comprises a main flap 14 adjoining the front main panel 5 by a grooved line of transverse folding 15.

 The first set of flaps also comprises two legs 16, adjoining the two side panels 7, 8 respectively, towards the rear main panel 9, with regard to the side panel 7; and towards the free edge, in the case of the side panel 8. These tabs 16 are connected to the panels 7, 8 by grooved transverse folding lines 17 collinear with the line 15.

 Towards the second end 13, the second set of flaps comprises a first flap 18 and two tabs 19 adjoining the front main panel 5 and the side panels 7 and 8 respectively via a common fold line 20.

 As can be seen in the drawing, the flap 18 is itself in two parts separated from each other by a fold line 21.

 In the embodiment shown in the drawing, there is also provided a grooved tear-off line 22 having a general U shape, starting from the fold line 11, extending transversely on the side panel 7 and overlapping a part of the main panel. rear 9. In the base of the U of the grooved tear-off line 22, therefore in the panel 9 is formed a slot or cutout 23 allowing the introduction of the nail for the opening.

 I1 is also provided two lateral holding openings 24, 25 of the part 4 located to the right of the window 3.

 The two openings 24, 25 are formed towards the first end 6. They are located on either side and near the window 3. The opening 24 is located towards the side panel 7 while the opening 25 is located to the side panel 8.

 The openings 24, 25 have a shape allowing to follow the contour of the shell delimiting the part 4. In particular, this contour includes notches 26 at the point in which is housed a projecting rim 27 of the shell of the part 4.

 The openings 24, 25 are also formed in two zones 28, 29 of the blank 1 limited by grooved lines of longitudinal and transverse folding.

 Zone 28 straddles the main front panel 5 and the adjacent side panel 7. Zone 29 straddles the main front panel 5 and the adjoining panel 8.

 The zone 28 is also adjacent to the free edge 30 of the blank 1 towards the first end 6.

 The zone 28 is delimited by two grooved longitudinal fold lines, namely the line 31 located on the main front panel 5 between the window 3 and the opening 24 and the line 32 located on the side panel 7.

 Opposite the free edge 30, the two grooved longitudinal fold lines 31, 32 are interconnected by a transverse cutting line 33.

 Similarly, the zone 29 is delimited by grooved longitudinal fold lines 34, 35 and a transverse cut line 36.

 The two zones 28, 29 therefore have a generally square or rectangular shape.

 These two zones 28, 29 straddle the main front panel 5 and the side panels 7, 8. In zones 28, 29 the fold lines 11, 12 of the side panels 7, 8 are interrupted.

 I1 is also provided, in the zones 28, 29, two grooved fold lines 37, 38, arranged longitudinally and overlapping the openings 24, 25. These lines therefore extend between the respective openings 24, 25 and, on the one hand, the free edge 30, on the other hand the cutting lines 33, 36.

 Preferably, the two cutting lines 33, 36 are collinear.

 It follows from the structure which has just been described that there is between the two zones 28, 29 a narrower part 39 of the main front panel 5. The window 3 is formed in this part 39.

 The legs 16 are located to the right of the side panels 7, 8 with the exception of the zones 28, 29.

 Once the box has been made, the two zones 28, 29 can be folded towards the inside of the box and contribute to the production of a double display wedge 40.

 The main flap 14 previously mentioned itself comprises three zones, namely, going from the grooved fold line 15 towards the transverse free edge 41 of said flap 14, a first zone 42, a second zone 43 and a third zone 44.

 The first zone 42 is narrow. It comes very exactly in the extension of the narrow part 39.

It is therefore limited, on both sides, by the extensions of the grooved longitudinal fold lines 31, 34.

 The second zone 43 is wider and its two free edges come in line with the fold lines 11, 12 of the side panels 7, 8. The second zone 43 is therefore connected to the first zone 42 by a transverse recess 45.

 Due to its width, the second enlarged zone 43 is able to close the first end of the case.

 The third zone 44 has the same width as the second zone 43 and comes very exactly as an extension of the latter. It is nevertheless separated from it by a grooved transverse fold line 46.

 I1 is also provided, on the main flap 14, for the cutting segments and the grooved folding segments capable of allowing the formation, by folding, of a stop wedge 47.

 This stop block 47 is intended to be placed in the box 2 under the window 3.

 Thus, there are formed on the main flap 14 two cutting segments 48, 49, first and second grooved segment of end folding 50, 51 and a grooved segment of middle folding 52.

 The two cutting segments 48, 49 have a general longitudinal direction. They are separated from each other and placed opposite one another. Their transverse spacing is of the order of magnitude of the transverse opening of the window 3. They are preferably arranged to deviate from each other from their end closest to the window 3 or the line of folding 15 and towards the most distant end situated towards the free edge 41.

 The two grooved end folding segments have a general transverse direction and connect the two cutting segments 48, 49 at their ends. The first segment 50 is the closest to the window 3 and the fold line 15 while the second segment 51 is the farthest from the window 3 and the fold line 15 and therefore the closest to the transverse free edge 41 of the third zone 44.

 The first segment 50 is located in the second zone 43 and, and more particularly in the vicinity of the separation between the first and the second zone 42, 43, separation delimited by the transverse line defined by the recess 45. Furthermore, the second segment 51 is located, meanwhile, near the transverse free edge 41.

 The central folding groove segment 52, also of transverse direction, connects the two cutting segments 48, 49 in their central zone. This median segment 52 is located in the third zone 44 in particular substantially at equal distance from the grooved transverse fold line 46 and the transverse free edge 41.

 I1 is therefore provided, on the main flap 14, another zone 53 limited by the segments 48, 49 and 50, 51.

This zone 53 includes the middle segment 52. It is this zone 53 which, by folding, will make it possible to produce the stop wedge 47.

 The grooved transverse fold line 46 is nonexistent in the area 53. Conversely, the middle segment 52 does not exist outside the area 53. The spacing between the first segment 50 and the line 46 is substantially equal to the spacing between the second segment 51 and the middle segment 52.

 The spacing between the first segment 50 and the second segment 52 is of the order of magnitude of the longitudinal length of the window 3.

 The spacing between the fold line 15 of the main flap 14 and the first segment 50 is equal to or of the order of magnitude of the spacing between the grooved longitudinal fold lines 31 and 37 on the one hand, 34, 38 d 'somewhere else.

 According to another characteristic, the third zone 44 has a sufficient longitudinal length so that, after folding and constitution of the stopper wedge 47, this third zone, comes opposite window 3.

 According to another embodiment not shown, the end 13 may have the same characteristics as those of the end 6 as described above. In this embodiment, the blank allows the production of two sets of stops 40, 47, each set being arranged at one or the other of the ends 6, 13.

 The box 2 is produced from the blank 1 which has just been described, once it has been folded and joined together.

 This box comprises, adjoining the window 3, a double display wedge 40 obtained by folding inward the box of the zones 28, 29, and on the other hand opposite the window 3 a stop wedge 47 obtained by folding the flap main 14 and said other zone 53.

In this situation, the third zone 44 of the main flap 14, with the exception of said other zone 53, can come against the internal face of the rear main panel 9. On the other hand, said other zone 53 lying between the first segment 50 and the segment median 52 is offset with respect to the third zone 44 previously mentioned so as to be placed opposite window 3 to ensure the blocking of the shell of part 4.

 The set of two wedges 40, 47 ensures the maintenance of a piece 4 of content in the window 3 and this for its presentation.

 With such a structure, the box 2 can be devoid of a separate added separation forming a wedge inside.

 The invention also relates to a package comprising the box 2 which has just been described and a content placed in the box including in particular a part maintained and presented in window 3.

 Finally, the invention relates to a method of producing such a package. In this process, one starts from a flat blank 1 as described. This blank is set in volume as shown in FIG. 2 and the double display wedge 40 is formed by folding. In this situation, the part 4 can be placed to be placed facing the window 3. Then, the main flap 14 is folded, so the stopper wedge 47 on this part (FIG. 3). Finally, the box is formed and closed, the content of which is possibly supplemented.

Claims (17)

 1. Cardboard blank intended for the production of a box having a window (3) for holding and presenting a part (4) of the contents of the box (2) comprising several cut panels connected together by grooved lines of folding, namely  - a main front panel (5) provided with the presentation window (3) towards its first end (6) and a second end (13);  - two adjoining side panels (7, 8);  - a rear main panel (9) adjoining a side panel (7);  - a securing component (10);  placed one after the other and connected to each other by grooved parallel longitudinal folding lines (11, 12), capable of forming, after folding and joining, a tubular case;  - two sets of flaps (14, 16, 18, 19) adjoining the first and second ends (6, 13) respectively, capable of forming, after folding and securing, a first and a second end closure of said case  - two lateral holding openings (24, 25) of a part (4) of the contents of the box, arranged towards the first end (6), on either side and near the window (3), in two zones (28, 29) bounded by grooved longitudinal fold lines (31, 32, 34, 35) and transverse cutting lines (33, 36), these zones (28, 29) being located astride the main panel front (5) and the side panels (7, 8) and in which the longitudinal fold lines (11, 12) of the side panels are interrupted; sections of longitudinal fold lines (37, 38) being formed in the zones (28, 29) overlapping the lateral holding openings (24, 25), so that the main front panel (5) forms between the zones ( 28, 29) a narrower part (39) where the window (3) is located and that, in the box (2) made, the two zones (28, 29) are folded towards the inside of the box;  - all of the flaps (14, 16), adjoining the first end (6) comprising a main flap (14), extending the narrow part (39) of the main front panel (5) and connected to it by a grooved line transverse folding (15) and having a first narrow zone (42) adjoining the narrow part (39); a second enlarged second zone (43) adjoining the first zone (42), capable of closing the end of the case and a third large zone (44) extending from the second zone (43) but separated from it by a grooved transverse fold line (46) and provided with a transverse free edge (41).  characterized on the one hand by cutting segments (48, 49) and grooved folding segments (50, 51, 52) formed in the main flap (14) able to allow the formation, by folding, of a stop block (47) intended to be placed in the box under the window (3) and on the other hand by a longitudinal length of the third zone (44) sufficient so that, after folding, this third zone (44) comes opposite the window (3).  2. Blank according to claim 1 characterized in that it is formed on the main flap (14)  - two cutting segments (48, 49) of general longitudinal direction, spaced from one another and facing one another;  - a first and a second grooved segment of end folding (50, 51), of transverse direction, connecting the two cutting segments (48, 49) at their ends;  - a grooved segment of median folding (52), of transverse direction, connecting the two cutting segments (48, 49) in their median zone, the segments (48, 49, 50, 51) delimiting a zone (53) intended for form the stop block (47), the middle segment (52) being present in the area (53) and absent outside of it while the grooved transverse fold line (46) is present outside the area (53) and absent inside.  3. Blank according to claim 2 characterized in that the transverse spacing between the two cutting segments (48, 49) is of the order of magnitude of the transverse opening of the window (3).  4. Blank according to claim 2 characterized in that the two cutting segments (48, 49) move away from one another from their end closest to the window (3) towards their end the more distant.  5. Blank according to claim 2 characterized in that the first grooved folding segment (50) is located in the second zone (43).  6. Blank according to claim 2, characterized in that the first grooved folding segment (50) is located near the separation between the first and the second zone (42, 43).  7. Blank according to claim 2, characterized in that the second grooved folding segment (51) is located near the transverse free edge (41) of the third zone (44).  8. Blank according to claim 2, characterized in that the grooved segment of median folding (52) is located in the third zone (44).  9. Blank according to claim 2, characterized in that the spacing between the first grooved folding segment (50) and the grooved transverse folding line (46) is substantially equal to the spacing between the first and second grooved segment folding (51 and 52).  10. Blank according to claim 2, characterized in that the spacing between the first grooved folding segment (50) and the second grooved folding segment (52) is of the order of magnitude of the longitudinal length of the window (3).  11. Blank according to claim 2 characterized in that the spacing between the line (15) of folding of the main flap (14) and the first grooved segment of folding (50) is equal to or of the order of magnitude of the spacing between the grooved longitudinal fold lines (31, 37, 34, 38) of said zones (28, 29).  12. Blank according to any one of claims 1 to 11 characterized in that the second end (13) and the associated shutter assembly has the same characteristics as the first end (6) and the shutter assembly (14, 16).  13. Box characterized in that it is made from a blank according to any one of claims 1 to 12, folded and secured on itself.  14. Box according to claim 13 characterized in that it comprises, adjacent to the window 3, a double display block (40) and, opposite the window (3), a stop block (47), the assembly ensuring the maintenance of a piece (4) of content in the window (3) for its presentation.  15. Box according to claim 13 characterized in that it is devoid, inside a separate separation reported forming wedge.  16. Package comprising a box according to any one of claims 13 to 15 and a content placed in this box including a part maintained and presented in window 3.  17. A method of producing a package according to claim 16 characterized in that one starts from a blank according to any one of claims 1 to 12, flat; the display wedge (40) is formed by folding; a content piece (4) is placed on the display wedge (40) thus produced; the stop block (47) is folded over the part; and we close the box (2).
