Abstract

The spring clip is shaped from metal wire. The central part of the clip (1a) follows the profile of the cable tray support (3), while the ends (1g,1i) are shaped to hook into the cable tray. The clip is generally 'U'-shaped, with the ends extending horizontally to the end clips. One end is bent over to form a simple hook, while the other end (1i) is bent to a spiral shape. The internal diameter of the spiral is slightly greater than the outer diameter of the wire forming the cable tray. When the clip is fitted over the support the central region is bent, so the clip maintains a tension ensuring the cable tray is clamped to the support.
