Abstract

The invention relates to a formulation and to a device which make it possible to purify and improve the performance of degreasing solvents. An aqueous purification formulation (4, 5), which is immiscible and with a different density, produces a two-phase system with commonly used degreasing solvents. The technique of the invention regularises the quality of degreasing operations using solvents and contributes to protecting the environment. The formulation and device according to the invention are particularly intended for improving the performance and for increasing the duration of use of solvents for the degreasing fountain. The degreasing fountain (1), which is conventional, is fitted to a special drum (2). A dip pipe (3) makes it possible to renew the purifier (4, 5), the colouring of which facilitates the operation. Its length, and that of the suction (6) and discharge (7) pipes for the degreasing solvent (8), depend on the difference in density between the degreasing solvent and the purifier.
