Abstract

The invention relates to a package for a filiform element wound upon itself to form a plurality of turns comprising: - two end walls (5, 6) which extend on either side of the bundle of turns which forms a spool, doing so in planes parallel to the planes of the turns and, - connecting their edges, cross-pieces which thus form a cage (4) containing the spool (2). It is characterised in that the cage (4) is divided into two previously formed complementary shells and which, after producing the spool, are disposed on either side of the latter and are assembled in a joining plane by any known assembly means (14).
