Abstract

The coach has two floors, with access aisles, or gangways (6) for the seats (5), off centre and not directly one above the other. The staggered aisles allow the coach an increase in internal height. A metal beam (2) may carry the upper floor, its largest section vertical, carrying the upper aisle at its base. The upper seat floor (7) is above the corresponding aisle floor level (8). The upper seat centres are carried on floor mounted joists (4), hence not restricting the passengers feet. Both aisles are of equal height.
