Abstract

The bin consists of a container which is set on the ground and has an aperture (7) in at least one side (4) for the articles (19) to be collected, and a support (11) which covers the top of the container and is equipped with a bag (13) to collect the articles. The bag is attached to the support by connectors (14,15), e.g. in the form of rings and hooks, and the support has a handle (20) at the top for lifting. The container and support can be made either triangular or rectangular in an horizontal cross-section, with cut-away corners, and the aperture(s) (7) through which the articles are introduced are preferably situated on the corners of the container. The upper end of the container can also be equipped with guides (24,25,26) to position the bag and cover accurately when they are lowered into place, and the bag can have a tie (18) at the bottom for emptying it once lifted. In variants of the design the bag can have corrugated sides so that it extends gradually as it is filled, or it can be set on a base suspended from springs. Description

 The present invention relates to a device for the selective collection of household waste.

 - We know that in order to preserve the environment, it is in the best interest to collect household and other types of garbage and waste separately.

 This is how lton organizes selective collections of bottles, containers and other glass objects. One of the means for carrying out this collection consists in placing in public places easily accessible to users, containers inside which lton can pour, for example empty bottles.

 These containers, which are mostly placed on the sidewalks, must have a sufficient volume and be strong enough not to be damaged.

 They must also be designed in such a way that it is not possible for unauthorized persons to have access to their interior.

 In practice, such containers are constituted by closed volumes provided at their upper part with a limited number of small openings and in their bottom wall, dlune emptying hatch. When these containers are full, they are generally lifted by a crane truck which empties them into a bucket. Their content is then transferred to a central collection point.

 This way of doing things has various drawbacks, among which there may be mentioned the obligation to lift relatively heavy containers and to build these containers in a sufficiently robust manner to withstand the vagaries of handling, which generally gives them an unattractive appearance.

 In addition, the fact of lifting 11 together consisting of the container and its content unnecessarily increases the load that must be borne by the crane used for emptying, which is also extremely noisy.

 The subject of the present invention is a device for the selective collection of household waste, in particular glass, characterized in that it comprises in combination: a container placed on the ground with a fixed station provided at the top on at least one of its sides with an opening for the passage of the products that one wishes to collect; a support piece capable of being engaged at the top of the container, said support piece having at least one opening corresponding to the opening or openings made in the container; a bag for collecting the collected objects, said bag being detachably suspended from the support piece inside the container; the support part comprising a gripping member which, by means of a lifting means, makes it possible to place in the container and to remove the assembly constituted by the support part and the bag.

 - In a particular embodiment of the invention, the horizontal section of the container and the corresponding shape of the support piece are such that, when the support piece is placed in the container, the openings of the latter correspond to the openings made in the support piece.

 According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the container has a triangular or rectangular section with cut corners, the orifices for the collected waste advantageously being on the cut corners.

 According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the upper part of the container has guide members which facilitate the introduction of the support piece and the bag inside the body of the container.

 In a particular embodiment of the invention, the support part is constituted by a plate having on its periphery at least certain curved edges which are placed on the upper edge of the container.

 In another embodiment, the support piece comprises suspension lugs which are intended to penetrate holes formed on the interior wall of the container, these holes having a Y shape, so that they participate in guiding the piece support during its introduction into said container.

 In a variant, the support part is provided with a base which allows it to rest on the bottom of the container or on the ground, which facilitates the loading and unloading of the support part provided with its bag.

 The bag can be fixed to the support piece by various means, for example using hooks which are located on the support piece and on which can engage rings or orifices located at the top of the bag.

Another possible means of attachment consists of straps sewn onto the bag and attached to tabs provided on the support piece.
Advantageously, the bag is constituted by a cylindrical sleeve which is closed at its lower part by joining at a point, the lower periphery of the bag. Thanks to which, it is possible to empty the contents of the bag by releasing the closure of its lower part.

 According to the invention, it is advantageous to use bags woven with threads of resistant synthetic material, such as the bags used for the transport of pulverulent materials such as fertilizers or cements, or the evacuation of spoils in works. of the building.

 According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the bag preferably comprises on its lateral part elastic members, which, when empty, bring it back towards the support part by giving it a deformation having substantially the shape of a accordion.

 This variant has the double advantage of reducing the size of the bag during transport or the placement of empty bags mounted on the support and of preventing the bottles from breaking by falling into the bag because when the latter is empty, its bottom is brought up, hence a lower fall height.

 In another variant, the container internally has a bottom which is suspended by elastic members and on which the bag rests.

 In this way, the same advantage is obtained as above with regard to the fall of the bottles, since the bottom of the bag descends as the bag fills.

 In other words, the height of fall of the waste collected inside the container is always reduced, regardless of the filling rate of the bag.

 In addition, this variant has the advantage of being more reliable and more economical than the previous one, since the elastic members are integral with the container and are fixed permanently in the latter, the bags used being able to be of a completely any fact.

 In this variant where the bag has no elastic member, one can provide a fastener which connects the bottom of the bag and the support part to temporarily reduce the height of the bag and facilitate the positioning of the support part in the container, after which , the attachment can be broken manually or simply under the effect of the weight of the first bottles collected.

 According to the invention, the gripping member disposed at the upper part of the support piece is advantageously constituted by two or three bars starting from the periphery of the support piece and joined at their top at a common point. These bars can be easily hooked for example by a grab attached to the end of the lifting device.

 To carry out the exchange of full bags with empty bags, it suffices to lift the assembly constituted by the support part and the bag, using a lifting device preferably supported by a truck, capable of extracting it from the or introduce it into the container.

 The truck used for transport can advantageously include supports whose shape corresponds to that of the upper part of the containers, so that the assemblies constituted by the support parts and the bags are supported in the truck as they are in the containers .

 In the variant according to which the support part is provided with a base, it is possible to transport the assemblies constituted by the support part and the bag by placing them directly on the truck bed.

 The present invention has the advantage of allowing easy extraction of the contents of a container. In addition, as the latter is left at a fixed position, it can be produced by a robust but unsightly inner part while its visible outer part can be coated with noble materials such as stainless steel, the outer surfaces of the container being able to be advantageously used as display space, possibly illuminated.

 In order to better understand the invention, we will now describe by way of illustration and without any limiting character several embodiments shown in the accompanying drawing.

 Schematically shown in Figure 1 the form of a first embodiment of the container of the collection device according to the invention.

 According to this embodiment, the container has a triangular horizontal section with three sides 1, 2 and 3, the corners of which are cut by short sides 4, 5 and 6.

 FIG. 1 shows how the upper part of the short side 4 has an opening 7 for the passage of the collected waste.

 The lower part of the container may have a bottom 8, but this is not compulsory since the waste is actually collected in a bag as will be explained below.

 The container may for example be made of sheet steel or another material such as plastic. To obtain a robust and stable interior, it is also possible to use concrete which may be covered with noble, more aesthetic materials. Its interior surfaces are advantageously smooth to allow easier introduction and extraction of the bag which receives the collected waste.

 There is shown in Figure 2 a sectional view along II-II of Figure 1 of a more elaborate embodiment of the device according to the invention.

 We find in Figure 2 the small side 4 of the container and its large opposite side 3 and the bottom 8 which rests on feet 9 bearing on the ground.

 In the embodiment of Figure 2, the walls of the container itself are surrounded as shown schematically at 10 by covers or boxes which can be used for example to improve the aesthetic appearance of the device according to the invention or to achieve display panels that can be lit or to display various products.

 We also see in Figure 2, the support piece 11 which is, in this case, constituted as a kind of flat cover whose folded edges 12 cover the upper part of the walls 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 container, which has the advantage that rainwater does not accumulate in the container or in the contents of the bag 13 which is fixed by means of rings 14 and hooks 15 to an inner skirt 16 fixed in under the cover 11.

 The skirt 16 has an opening 17 which corresponds to the opening 7 made in the short side 4 of the container.

 The lower part of the bag 13 is closed off by the fact that its edges are joined in the center using a fastening device 18 which can be released to open the bag and unload the bottles and other collected waste 19 .

 Bars 20 in this case 3 in number are joined at their upper part at 21 and fixed at their lower part at points <22- near the short sides 4, 5 and 6 of the container, so that the they can easily be grasped using a grab 23 fixed to the end of a lifting device to lift the support piece and the bag attached to it.

 According to the invention, it is advantageous to have at the upper part of the container a guide device which, in the present case, is constituted by giving the internal upper part of the container a frustoconical shape 24 which guides the bag towards the inside the container.

 In addition, a tube device has been placed at the upper part of the container, the horizontal frame 25 with a contour corresponding substantially to the external shape of the container serves to protect the latter from shocks during the positioning of the support part provided of its bag, while the rounded vertical parts 26 are intended to guide and center the support part so that it comes easily to be placed in the position shown in FIG. 2.

 There is shown in Figure 3, a perspective view of a variant of the embodiment of Figure 2 in which the support part which has substantially the same shape is provided at its lower part with a base 27 supported by three legs 28.

 It is understood that in this way, the assembly constituted by the support piece and the bag 13 can directly rest on the ground during its handling or transport.

 Clearly seen in Figure 3 the arrangement of bars 20 which meet at their top at 21 to allow easy gripping of the support piece using for example a grapple.

 There is shown schematically in Figure 4 an embodiment in which the wall of the bag 13 is provided at its periphery with elastic members 29 which may be constituted by rubber parts or springs. These elastic members 29, the natural length of which is less than the corresponding length of the wall of the bag, have the effect, when the bag is empty, of bringing it upwards by folding it in accordion as shown by the broken line 30 of the figure.

 In this way, when the bag 13 is empty, the first bottles which are engaged by the opening 17 fall on each other, of a low height, which prevents them to a large extent from breaking, the useful height of the bag 13 progressively increasing with the weight of the bottles, which results in an elongation of the elastic members 29.

 FIG. 5 represents another embodiment in which the container is provided with a bottom suspended by elastic members.

 In this figure, the container and its outer covers are shown in broken lines.

 We find the sides 3 and 4 of the container as well as its bottom 8 which rests on the ground by feet 9.

 In this embodiment, the support part 11 is constituted by a frustoconical upper part 16a and by a skirt also frustoconical 16b less convergent than the previous one.

 This support piece 11 comprises, in accordance with the invention, openings not shown which coincide with the openings 17 formed in the short sides 4, 5 and 6 of the container.

 The bag 13 is of the type described in the embodiment of FIG. 2, that is to say that it has no elastic member and that it is simply closed at its lower part by a closure 18 located here inside the bag.

 Unlike the embodiments described above, the bag 13 is fixed to the support piece 11 by straps 14 'sewn onto the bag and attached to lugs 15' secured to the skirt 16b of the support piece 11.

 Preferably, two tabs are provided on each of the large faces of the support piece, so as to suspend the bag at six points regularly distributed around its periphery.

 Note that the skirt 16b engages slightly inside the bag 13 so as to keep it suitably open.

 By using straps, it is easier to hook and unhook the bag 13 from the support part 11. Thus, one can deposit the full bag 13 and the support part 11 on the truck, easily replace the full bag with an empty bag, and replace the support piece II in its housing on the container.

 In this embodiment, the container is provided with a bottom 31 which is suspended by elastic members 29 'from hooks 32 secured to the container.

 Thus, the bag 13 rests on the suspended bottom 31 and has a fairly low drop height, which limits the risk of breakage of the bottles and especially the noise generated with each fall of a bottle.

 As the bag 13 fills, the bottom 31 descends under the effect of the weight of the bag.

 This embodiment has the advantage of not requiring the use of bags provided with elastic members such as those described ~ with reference to FIG. 4.

 In particular, bags made in a rectangular piece of sufficiently robust material can be used here by folding this piece in half lengthwise and sewing it on its side edges so as to form a pocket that it 'is therefore not necessary to tie at its lower part to seal it.

 In this embodiment, as in the previous one, it may be advantageous to have a sensor at the bottom of the container which detects when the bag reaches its maximum height, indicating that it appears necessary to replace it.

 In a more sophisticated embodiment, one can provide a mechanism for closing the openings 17 once the bag is completely filled, for example by triggering the closing of valves situated in the vicinity of the openings 17 as soon as the suspended bottom 31 has reached a height. minimal.

 In this embodiment the support part 11 rests on the inner wall of the container by lugs 33 which engage in orifices 34 formed on the inner wall of the container. These holes 34 have a Y shape for guiding the lugs and as a result of the support part 11 when it is placed in the container.

 To facilitate this guidance, the interior wall of the container has a flared surface 24 at its upper part.

 The gripping member shown here is a simple ring 21 '. Other attachment systems could be used to lift the support piece 11.

 It is understood that the embodiments which have been described above have been given only by way of nonlimiting examples and that they may receive any desirable modification without departing from the scope of the invention.

 In particular, the gripping member described here may be constituted by a simple ring or any other known attachment means.

Claims (17)
