Abstract
A bin liner 2 with drawstring/s 3 that run along the sidewalls and are connected to the bottom of the waste sack where the drawstring/s are pulled at the bag opening to compact the contents of the bag and create an air gap to release the vacuum 5 between the liner and the garbage bin 1. The refuse sack 2 is made up of walled sections that are sealed on 3 sides and has an opening at the top through which rubbish may be deposited into the bag. The drawstring/s may protrude from either side of the bag and their ends may be bonded together to form a continuous loop. The drawstring may be housed inside a hem within the bag opening, sides or bottom. The drawstring or band may be thicker at the bottom of the liner than at the top opening. The drawstring/s may also run under the liner bottom.
Description
Anti-Vacuum Bin Liners
Description
A Bin Liner of plastics material used in conjunction with a waste bin (receptacle) for the collection of waste, the receptacle stored usually in the kitchen in the home. The liner inserted into the receptacle, then opened with the top edges of the liner wrapped over the edges of the receptacle and held in place by the top of the bin lid overlapping the main bodies edge, trapping the liner in the process.
Once the Liner is full the waste collected becomes compacted against the walls of the body of the receptacle creating a vacuum between the liner and receptacle wall, as the liner is pulled upwards the vacuum pulls the Liner back making it harder to remove.
Bin Liners with a drawstring built into the hem of the opening to assist in closing and securing the contents are liable to tear when being lifted out of the receptacle via the drawstring with the pressure of the vacuum holding the liner firmly resulting in the stretching and thinning of the material and liable to tearing.
The invention concentrates on breaking the vacuum between the Liner and wall of the bin/receptacle by attaching a band/drawstring to the bottom of the Liner along the outer side wall to the top opening via a hem along the side or loose against the outer wall of the Liner. That when the band is pulled upwards the contents of the Liner are compacted slightly pulling the side of the Liner away from the wall of the Bin/receptacle and breaking the vacuum, making the liner easier to remove from the Bin/receptacle. The drawstring or band, drawstrings or Bands when tied together at the top will also help supporting the weight of the contents of the liner underneath when being removed reducing the risk of the thinning the plastic and pulling or tearing apart

Claims (8)
1) A Bin/Receptacle Liner made of plastic or similar bio materials having walled sections sealed together on 3 sides leaving an opening at the top to create an inner void and having a band or bands/drawstring/s connected to or running under the Liner bottom section and along the side wall terminating/attaching at the opening, that once pulled with an upward force thus compacting the contents and releasing the vacuum created between the Liner and Bin/Receptacle.
2) A bin liner as in claim 1, where in the sections are multiples of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or more joined together to form the liner shape for use with a receptacle.
3) A bin liner as in claim 1, where in the drawstring/s or Band/s are of a stronger plastic consistency than the construction of the bag walls.
4) A bin liner as in claims 1,2 & 3, wherein the ends of the drawstring protruding from the bag join with another end on a section either side forming a continuous loop between the two sections.
5) A Bin liner as in claims 1, 2, 3 & 4, wherein the drawstring/Band is looped under or through the bottom of the Liner loose or in its hem, the hem in a continuation along both sides and bottom section, the drawstring/Band is fed up the side wall to the opening, in loose form the drawstring/Band being thicker at the bottom than at the opening.
6) A bin liner as having sections as in claims 1,2, 3, 4 & 5, where in the drawstring is in a continuous loop in each section with each hem in the section having an opening at the top of each section either side.
7) A bin liner as in claims 1,2,3, 4, 5, 6, in the shape of a paraboloid.
8) A bin liner having a sealed edge on three sides and an opening at the 4th side creating an inner void and having a plastic band/drawstring connecting the top and bottom of the liner edges.
8) A bin liner having a sealed edge on three sides and an opening at the 4th side creating an inner void and having a plastic band/drawstring connecting the top and bottom of the liner edges.
