Abstract

The invention relates to a device enabling screw-on lids on containers to be unscrewed effortlessly, even using only one hand. This is achieved by tightly gripping the lid and the container simultaneously whilst imparting a relative rotation thereto. The apparatus is as easy to use as a pair of pliers. It is principally made up of two rings (1, 2) each equipped with a clamping lever (3, 4). These two subassemblies, although they are connected together, have an angular clearance which enables the lid to be unscrewed. The device according to the invention is particularly designed for opening jars.
