Abstract

Device for replacing the chain and dérailleur on bicycles. The invention relates to a device which eliminates the maintenance of the transmission mechanism and the soiling due to this maintenance. At the same time it provides protection for this transmission mechanism. Situated at the location of the pedal crank mechanism, it is made up of a leaktight box housing a system of gears. When the cyclist presses on a pedal, a gearwheel secured to the axle of the pedal crank mechanism (1) drives another gearwheel (2). This wheel (2) drives the axle (3).
