Abstract

Waste basket of that type which includes an articulated lid and a removable receptacle, or the like, characterised in that the orifice via which the waste is introduced emerges well below the upper edge (7) of the receptacle (3) for receiving the waste.

Description

 The present invention relates to a trash bin, more particularly but not exclusively, intended to constitute an element of urban furniture.

 Such baskets generally comprise a fixed envelope, the upper part of which is provided with a cover, articulated on said envelope, which has an orifice making it possible to introduce the detritus into a removable container located in the envelope.

 The opening of the lid opens above the upper edge of the aforementioned container.

 The practice has shown that users always tend to place more trash in the bin than it can contain and that these are therefore compressed. Therefore, when the lid is lifted, to access the container for emptying, the detritus decompresses and overflows with all the disadvantages that this may cause for the personnel responsible for emptying said container.

 The present invention, which overcomes this drawback, is recognizable in that the orifice, through which the detritus is introduced into the bin, emerges at a level which is situated well below the upper edge of said bin.

 According to one embodiment, the cover has an opening bordered by a tubular sheath, extending downward, the lower opening of which opens below the upper edge of the tank.

 The present invention will be better understood from the description which follows, given with reference to the accompanying drawing by way of indicative example only, in which the single figure is a vertical section view of a litter bin according to the invention.

 Referring to the drawing, and according to one embodiment, it can be seen that the basket consists of an envelope 1 comprising, at its upper part, a cover 2, articulated at 2a on said envelope.

 In the known manner, a removable container 3 having an insertion orifice 4 is placed in the envelope 1.

 According to the present invention, the orifice 4 is bordered by a tubular sheath 5 extending downwards.

 The outlet orifice 6 of the sheath 5 opens into the tank 3 at a level which is situated well below the upper edge 7 of said tank.

This difference in level is indicated by the dimension h on the drawing.

 In this way, there always remains, at the top of the container 3, even when the latter is full, a space 8.

 Even in the case of critical filling, that is to say when the detritus D is compressed between the bottom of the tank and the lower part of the sheath 5, the opening of the cover will not cause overflows.
