Abstract

Method of assembling a wooden window frame. It consists in inserting a plastic insert (1) in a housing formed in the fixed casement (3), in then screwing a self-tapping (self-cutting) screw (2) which passes through the bottom rail (4) and penetrates into the fixed casement (3) until it has pierced and passed transversely through the said insert. The insert used consists of a plastic cylinder (10) pierced with a smooth blind central recess (11) and includes fluting (12) on its external face.
