Abstract

This locking device for a measuring tape hook is of the type in which the end of the measuring tape (2) is fixed by riveting between, on the one hand, a graduated plate (3) on which a pull ring (7) and a hook (8) are articulated and, on the other hand, a riveting backing plate (4). According to the invention, this device consists of a tenon (10) projecting from one of the elements trapping the end of the tape (2) and capable of penetrating into a hole (12) of the hook (8), when the latter is in position folded against the riveting plate for locking it in rotation. This simple device allows the user to decide for himself whether or not to improve his safety by locking, temporarily or permanently, the hook in position folded against the end of the tape.
