Abstract

The snap-hook fastener for a safety harness has a pivot bolt (3) controlled by a closure sprung (7) slidable sleeve (6). When at repose, the sleeve houses onto the lever (3) and hook (1) extremities (1A,3A) in the vicinity of the axle pin (2). This prevents pivoting of the bolt. The user slides the sleeve (6) away from the pin (2) and onto the bolt (3) to allow pivoting of the latter (3). The movement is resisted by coil springs (7). The cross sectional sleeve (6) and bolt (3) geometry may prevent their relative rotation.
