Abstract

The belt conveyor is constructed so that the mechanical assembly (9) supporting the drive (1) and return (2) cylinders is connected to its support (12) on only one side, leaving the other side free for the passage of the belt which remains closed on itself. A device (15) for relaxing the transporting belt (4), independent of the device (17) for adjusting the tension, makes it possible to facilitate its removal and refitting by production personnel who are not qualified for maintenance operations, without it being necessary to use specialised tools.

Description

The invention relates to a device making it possible to remove a conveyor belt from its support and quickly put it back in, without the need for specialized tools. This procedure allows in particular the disassembly of carrier belts for cleaning by production personnel not specially qualified for maintenance operations.

Conveyor belts used in the food industry are generally belts having continuous surfaces generally formed of synthetic material reinforced by woven textiles; in a conveyor, the conveyor belt Fig 1 forms a ring stretched between two cylinders (1) and (2) Freeze whose axes are substantially parallel; one of the cylinders (1) is generally driven by a motor (3) while the other turns idle and serves as a return cylinder (2); during its course the strip (4) receives, transports and transmits loads (5), but is not used for the transmission of power Usually the operations of assembly and disassembly of the strips (4) are only done occasion for mounting a new tape because the old one is worn, and it is an operation which retains an exceptional character involving qualified personnel; we cut for example the old strip and we remove it we pass the new bander not yet closed on itself to form a rings so as to make it follow the path it will have to travel, then, we proceed to the fixing ends together; this baleen to operate stems from the fact that for economic reasons the conveyor is designed so that if one wanted to mount a band already closed
Fig.1, at least the end cylinders should be removed; what constitutes an operation coming under the intervention of qualified personnel In the event that frequent disassembly of the conveyor belt (4) Fig.E is necessary, the current design would quickly lead to deterioration of the assembly elements; it would then be necessary to provide elaborate systems allowing their frequent disassembly which would lose the initial economic advantage. The fixing of the ends of the conveyor belt can between removable and be presented for example as a hinge with an axis that can, on the contrary, between permanent and obtained for example by gluing or welding the two ends. In the food industry it is preferable to avoid surface discontinuities which can constitute zones of development of bacterial foci if they are difficult to access for cleaning; the hinges for assembling the end of the conveyor belts constitute zones of bacterial development all the more since they can exhibit a certain aggressiveness for the products transported.

The invention aims to solve these problems by allowing rapid and frequent disassembly of a conveyor belt (4) Fig.2 by production personnel, without the use of specialized tools, in order to be able to clean it properly.

Fig.5 shows an expansion system of the conveyor belt by additional rollers.

The invention consists in designing the frame (6) Fig.2 of the overhanging conveyor; the ring formed by the conveyor belt (4) has two orifices (7) and (8) Fig.1; the connection of the mechanical assembly (9) Fig.2 supporting the band with the support points (10) of the chassis (6) of the conveyor is made only through a single orifice (7) there is no continuous connection of the tape support elements (9) with the support points (10) of the blackcurrant (6) passing through the other orifice (8); which does not exclude the existence of elements outside the other orifice (8); but they are connected to the support points (10) by passing through first the orifice (8) then the orifice (7) r these elements external to the other orifice (8) can be for example retainers preventing for example the conveyor belt (4) from moving laterally or guardrails to prevent the transported products from falling. 8) through which the band support elements (9) have no direct connection with the support points (10) of the chassis (6). , as an example in a version of the invention7 the drive (1) and return (2) cylinders of the conveyor belt (4) are connected to a rigid frame (11) located in the space delimited by l 'interior of the ring of the conveyor belt (4); this rigid frame (11) is connected to its support (12) only by a single cell; the connection (13) of at least one of the two cylinders (i) and (2) with the rigid frame (11) is of variable geometry to allow the strip to be relaxed and removed from the side opposite the connection side of the rigid frame (11) and its support (12).

There are many ways to solve this problem; the first is to use the conveyor belt tensioning system by giving it more travel than is necessary for tensioning the conveyor belt; it consists for example of one or more belt expansion devices (15) comprising a lever (16), at at least two positions7 connected to at least one of the drive (1) or return (2) cylinders ) that they move relative to each other so as to bring them together as well as possibly the elements which are directly connected to it so as to at the same time retract the obstacles which could prevent the conveyor belt from passing (4 ); one position of the lever (16) corresponds to the operating position of the conveyor belt (4), the other to the position of its disassembly; when the lever (16) is in the operating position of the conveyor belt (4), there is a second adjustment (17) which makes it possible to adjust the tension of the conveyor belt (4) and which is only adjusted by personnel specialized; during disassembly of the conveyor belt this tension adjustment (17) does not move although the conveyor belt (4) is relaxed by the operation of the lever (16); when the lever (16) is returned to the operating position7 when the conveyor belt (4) is returned to its place, the latter recovers its operating tension; the belt tension adjustment device (17) is in a preferred version of the invention integral with the belt expansion device (15) r but it can be in between; by way of example, the drive cylinder (1) may comprise the belt tension adjustment device (17) while the return cylinder (2) comprises the belt expansion device (15); the amplitude of the displacement of the cylinders (1) and (2) created by the operation of this lever (16) is not unlimited; If it is not sufficient7 one can imagine having parts that stow away like for example a guardrail who goes to bed; one way to considerably increase the travel is to make the frame (18) Fig.4 for holding the two drive cylinders (1) and return (2) foldable; the frame (18) has a working position and a disassembly position which is obtained by rotation about an axis (19), substantially parallel to that of the drive (1) and return (2) cylinders, one of the ends (20) of the conveyor; the angle @@ ion peot be very variable @ il pent alle @ ju @@ u @@ @@ and even approach 180.
Another way to relax the conveyor belt (22)
Fig.5 to be able to remove it easily is to have one or more rollers (21) Fig.5 whose axis is parallel to that of the end cylinders (1) and (2) arranged so as to increase the distance traveled by the conveyor belt (22) and therefore its length; there are rollers (21) which are connected to the rigid frame (23) and which sot in the internal space of the ring formed by the band t @ ansporteuse; one or more external rollers can be added thereto (25) Fig.3, if the conveyor belt has a compatible external surface condition and more particularly does not carry tabs; these outer rollers (25) are mechanically connected directly to the support (24) Fig.5 of the rigid frame (23); all or part of these rollers can be retracted by tilting around an OR several axes parallel to that of the cylinders (1) and (2) end, so as to give slack to the conveyor belt (22) to be able remove it; when these rollers are in the working position, they are locked in position either mechanically or by the tension of the conveyor belt which keeps them in position; the tensioning system of the conveyor belt (22) is provided as before by a conventional device
