Abstract

The invention relates to a device for detachable assembly of a trial prosthetic head on a piece fixed in the medullary cavity of a bone for the purpose of preparing the positioning of an articular prosthesis. It is characterised in that: - on the one hand, the spherical head (16) is integral with one of the ends of a shaft (13) which, for its part, is guided in rotation and is immobilised at least in translation with respect to the block (17) in a defined axis (13a), and - on the other hand, the abovementioned shaft has at least one cam (18) which, at least after assembly of the block (17) on the support piece (3), has its active profile (12a) facing a limit stop (11) of the locking member which is substantially transverse to its direction of displacement, which profile is designed to bring about, by rotation of the shaft, at least in one position of the cam, the immobilisation of the locking member in the locked position, and in at least one other position to release the locking member (10) in the unlocked position.
