Abstract

A container for moulding ice cubes (plate 3/3) comprising a rectangular tray (2) having tapering octagonal indents (3), and a hollow, smooth lid portion (4) connected to the tray (2) via two side slide channels (5) allowing the lid to be moved freely in both directions. The indented element (2) receives water to be frozen in an amount corresponding to the volume of the indents (3). The lid (4) is mounted in said slide channels (5) prior to storage and the entire container (1) is placed on its indented side (2) to allow the water to freeze. Removal of the ice cubes from the mould is achieved by a simple twisting of the ends of the containers (1), whereby the ice cubes fall into the lid (4) which is in a folded back position (fig. 8). This method of easily controlling ice cube removal avoids the annoyance caused by the sudden and simultaneous ejection of the ice cubes which often fall out of conventional moulding containers during the handling thereof.

Description

The present invention relates to a container intended to be
filled with water before being placed in freezer for preparation
ice cubes for domestic consumption. It is composed
of two elements held one on the other via
two guide rails that will be called slides.

The slides are placed laterally, from and to
trough, over the entire length, and allow the lid
slide for serving ice cubes or conserved
tor. The operating details of the system, according to the inven
tion, will be highlighted during the description which
follows with reference to the accompanying drawings:

The tray (Fig.l) consists of octagonal alveoli (3) tronco
receiving sufficient freezing water
to completely fill each alveole.

The flexible assembly, tray and lid (fig.7) is placed
dish in freezer, on the honeycombed part. After freezing
of the water, the demoulding of the ice cubes formed by the tank is obtained
naked by simply twisting the whole at its ends as
shown in Fig.7. We can carry out the demolding indifferently
lid in upper or lower position.

 The addition of a lid therefore presents a real convenience of use by its simplicity and efficiency. In addition the lid, according to the present invention, can be completely clear of its slides for a table service without it being necessary to recover the ice cubes in a service tank.

 The octagonal shape, as well as the central perforation of each ice cube, presents an additional originality.

 The invention according to its simple design presents a real convenience in the use of an ice cube tray and finds its application as a new industrial product.
