Abstract

- The invention relates to a display/sleeve for bottles or the like. - The subject of the invention is a display/sleeve for bottles or the like comprising, on the one hand, a base (7a, 7b; 10a, 10b) capable of covering over the bottom of at least one bottle and, on the other hand, a jacket (5a, 5b) capable of closely surrounding, at least partially, the shank of the bottle or bottles, characterised in that the said bottom is formed of an element of uniform thickness and exhibiting a continuous and smooth external face, and in that the bottom and the jacket are, at least in the position for covering the bottle or bottles, directly both secured to one another and secured to the bottle or bottles for tamper proofing purposes. - Application to the display of bottles or the like on sale.

Description

DISPLAY CASE FOR BOTTLES OR THE LIKE
The present invention relates to a new packaging for the presentation for sale of bottles or the like, and in particular of fine wine bottles.

 Presentation boxes, for example of whiskey bottles, have been known for a long time, but this method of packaging is cumbersome, impractical and expensive.

 Also known is a cardboard case consisting of a folding case body and bottom and provided with a gripping-transport means, such a device being used essentially for packaging an individual bottle after purchase by a customer.

 Such a case is unsuitable for presentation at the point of sale of bottles in the supine position because the visible face of the bottom results from the assembly of two elements which practically prohibits the affixing or printing of a label or the like. identification of the wine.

 In addition, such a case is not very stable in the upright position due to the non-regular thickness of the bottom, some places of which have a single thickness of cardboard while others have several.

 Finally, the case is completely independent of the bottle.

 The present invention aims to overcome the various drawbacks mentioned above by proposing a display case of light structure, practical, inexpensive, particularly well suited to the trade of fine wines and ensuring in particular a presentation for sale of the bottles in the best conditions, '' on the one hand, for wine storage, that is to say with the bottles lying down and preserved in the best of light, on the other hand, for storage, that is to say with the maximum of bottles for a space gives, while allowing easy identification of each bottle without having to touch it, and, finally, in good warranty conditions, that is to say by assuring the buyer that the bottle which is at the 'interior of the display case corresponds to what is marked on the latter.

 To this end, the subject of the invention is a display case for bottles or the like, comprising, on the one hand, a bottom capable of covering the bottom of at least one bottle and, on the other hand, an envelope capable of '' tightly at least partially surround the barrel of the bottle or bottles, characterized in that said bottom is formed of an element of uniform thickness and having a continuous and smooth external face and in that the bottom and the envelope are, at least in the covering position of the bottle or bottles, directly both integral with one another and integral with the bottle or bottles for the purpose of guaranteeing inviolability.

 According to a first embodiment, the bottom is made of rigid or semi-rigid material, has a curvilinear or polygonal external contour and is extended peripherally by a return constituting a primer for enveloping the bottle barrel (s), while the envelope is a film of a heat-shrinkable plastic material applied to the said barrel (s) so as to enclose said return by retraction.

 According to another embodiment, the envelope and the bottom are integral and made of the same sheet material, by cutting, creasing and assembly, by gluing or other, so as to be storable flat before being placed on one or more several bottles, the casing body envelope being constituted by a cylindrical or polygonal sleeve provided with fold lines along opposite generatrices allowing flat storage, while the bottom is of the automatic type and consists of two identical stackable parts, l one constituting the external face of the bottom and being provided with a fold line situated in the plane defined by said fold lines of the case body and the other being partially integral with the first, the two elements being integral with the case body in two opposite places, themselves equidistant from said fold lines of the case body.

 Such packaging in the form of a sleeve closely matching the bottle or bottles, allows a presentation, in particular of fine wines, original and attractive thanks to the possibility, for example, of printing on the external face of the envelope various information and decorative elements. including the label of the bottles thus presented, as well as on the external face of the bottom which allows, according to a very interesting advantage of the invention, the display for sale of the coated bottles.

 it is also important to underline that due to the extremely small size of such a display case, made in fact of a sheet of relatively thin material, a light cardboard for example, pressed all around the bottle, it is possible to place side by side the maximum number of bottles for a given space. In addition, in the case of a polygonal case body, the bottle, in the lying position on a flat surface, is well wedged because prevented from rolling laterally because it rests on a facet of said polygonal case body.

 According to yet a substantial advantage of the invention, the guarantee of inviolability is ensured, in the first embodiment, by the fact that the heat-shrinkable film tightly secures the bottom and the bottle and, in the other embodiment, by example by gluing at least part of the case body with the bottle.

 Finally, such packaging is of a very reasonable cost price and its ease of flat storage, ready for installation by simple shaping by manual or mechanical pressure, is particularly appreciable.

 Figure 1 illustrates a first, simplified embodiment of the device of the invention.

 It comprises a bottom l made of rigid or semi-rigid material, advantageously cardboard, provided with a peripheral return 2 forming a primer for wrapping the lower end of a bottle 3, for example of wine.

 The bottom 1 is preferably circular and of diameter corresponding to that of the bottle 3, but it could possibly be of polygonal outline.

 The return 2 is continuous or not and its role is to serve as an anchor to a film 4 of heat-shrinkable plastic sleeving at least part of the barrel of the bottle 3. The film 4 is put in place while the bottle 3 rests on the bottom l, the assembly being on a conveyor chain.

 The bottom 1 carries all appropriate decorations and / or information, applied by printing or any other process, such as in particular for example a partial reproduction of the wine label, which allows the bottle and its case to be presented for sale. lying position, the bottom only being visible.

 The film 4 can also carry all kinds of information such as label, back label, recommendations, various indications as well as any decoration or presentation.

 The assembly 1.4 is perfectly integral as is the assembly formed by the bottle 3 and its case 1.4, which prevents any substitution of one case for another.

 Figures 2 to 4 illustrate a more elaborate embodiment in which the bottom and the envelope intended to sleeve the barrel of the bottle are in one piece advantageously produced by cutting a blank of cardboard or other semi-sheet material -rigid suitable.

 The part or body of the case intended to sleeve the bottle barrel consists of a rectangle 5 provided with two fold lines 6 along two opposite generatrices of the future cylindrical case.

 The bottom of the case is an automatic bottom, that is to say one with automatic shaping and positioning when the case is shaped. For this purpose, the bottom consists of an octagonal part 7, one of the faces of which will constitute the visible face of the bottom of the case. Part 7 is integral with rectangle 5 along one of the sides 8 of the octagon, the area of attachment of part 7 to rectangle 5 being equidistant from the fold lines 6.

 Part 7 is foldable along said rib 8 as well as along a median line 9 parallel to side 8.

 With the part 7 is associated a second octagonal part 10, substantially identical and integral with the rectangle 5 by a rib li of the octagon arranged symmetrically at the side 8 with respect to the lines 6 when the rectangle 5 is folded to form a sleeve.

 The sleeve is formed for example by gluing the superimposed parts of the lateral edges of the rectangle 5, the hatched part 12 of FIG. 2 symbolizing the area of overlap and bonding of said parts.

 The case of Figure 2 is pre-assembled and stored flat, that is to say the sleeve part (rectangle 5) flattened on itself along the two lines 6 and the two octagonal parts 7 and 10 assembled but not superimposed.

 FIG. 3 illustrates the case in an almost completely formed position, the shaping being effected by pressing in line with the lines 6 in the direction of one another to make them move away from one another and to shape cylindrical final the two opposite parts 5a, 5b of the case. In doing so, the bottom (7,10) is automatically shaped and in place.

 Part 7 is delimited in two equal parts 7a, 7b separated by the fold line 9.

 Furthermore, the part 10 is delimited in two equal parts iOa, 10b which are not foldable with respect to one another.

 The free half-part 7b is bonded to the external face of the half-part 10a adjoining the part 5b of the sleeve.

 From FIG. 3, it can easily be deduced that at the end of assembly of the case, the two parts 7 (7a, 7b) and 10 (10a, 10b) will overlap as illustrated by FIG. 4, while in the position of flat storage of the case, the two parts 7a, 7b are folded back on themselves and the part 10 (10a, 10b) folded against the part 5b, the assembly constituting the bottom being flattened and sandwiched between the two parts 5a, 5b of the body of the case.

 Once the case has been formed, the bottle 3 slides easily into the case and perfectly holds the elements (7, 10) of the bottom which has a regular thickness, without any extra thickness, thus ensuring perfect stability of the case. in standing up position.

 The diameter of the case is just greater than that of the bottle.

 The fold lines 6 are not very visible and can be easily hidden or embedded in the decoration printed on the case.

 The visible external face of the bottom, formed by the part 7 in one piece, is continuous and smooth and allows printing or bonding, for example of a label, very easy and precise during the manufacture of the case. display.

 The bottom of the case of Figure 2 is octagonal, but it could have a polygonal outline with any number of ribs or a circular outline.

 Likewise, the body (5a, 5b) of the case, instead of being curvilinear, could be polygonal with any number of facets and, for example, octagonal as illustrated in FIG. 5.

 In this FIG. 5, to each side of the octagonal bottom 7 corresponds a facet (13a, 13b, 13c) of the polygonal sleeve 13 forming the body of the case.

 The sleeve 13 comprises, like the case of Figures 2 to 4, two fold lines 6 along two opposite generatrices. Because it is an octagonal sleeve, in order to allow flat folding of the bottom 7 and the body 13, the lines 6 must be at the center of two facets (13b) of the body. In this embodiment, as in that of FIGS. 2 to 4, as well as in general with an automatic bottom, the line 9 for folding into two equal parts of the bottom must remain constantly in the plane delimited by the two lines 6 for folding the case body, regardless of the state (unfolded, in final or intermediate form) of the case. I1 would be different with a hexagonal sleeve, the lines 6 being confused with edges of said sleeve.

 The bottom of the case of Figure 5 is made like that of Figures 2 to 4, by two octagonal parts 7,10 arranged in the same way.

 Figures 6 and 7 illustrate an alternative embodiment of the internal octagonal part of the bottom.

 This part 10 ′ is extended on its side opposite to the side 11 for attachment to the case body 13 (FIG. 7) by a tab 15 with two lateral flaps 16, fold lines 17 being provided between the different parts.

 When the case is stored flat, the parts 10 ′, 15 and 16 are in the same plane. When the case is formed and a bottle 3 is in place (Figure 7), the tab 15 is 90 "from the bottom, as well as the side flaps 16, the three elements 15,16 being pressed against the three adjacent facets of the polygonal case body 13. These elements introduce locally an extra thickness interposed between the bottle 3 and the case body and which thus wedges the case on the bottle. This makes it possible to give the diameter of the case body , at the level of the introduction of the bottle, a diameter appreciably greater than that of the bottle and avoiding the attachment and therefore the damage of the label during the positioning of the bottle in the case.

 For the purpose of guaranteeing that the case is not substituted, the latter is advantageously provided with a means of attachment to the bottle, once the latter is in place, this means being arranged to signal, in a clearly visible and irreversible manner, any attempt to extract the bottle from its case.

 Such a means can be constituted for example by the application of a film of adhesive on a small part of the internal face of the case body, as symbolized at 18 on the body 13 (Figure 5), in a suitable place. Once the bottle is in place, this bonding zone 18 is activated so that said part 18 is bonded against the bottle.

Thus, any attempt to extract the bottle would cause a revealing tearing of the part 18 of the case, the outline of this part being semi-incised.

 Such a means of guaranteeing inviolability is of course advantageously provided on any type of case.

 FIG. 8 illustrates another variant according to which the case body 13 ′ is extended, in line with the shoulder of the bottle 3, of legs which can be folded over said shoulder. In the embodiment of Figure 8, there are provided two opposite single legs 19 and two legs 20 with double lateral extension 21 coming to stick on the single legs 19. This device completes the packaging of the bottle and acts as a means of inviolability guarantee.

 FIGS. 9 to 13 illustrate a case according to the invention intended for the side-by-side presentation of two bottles 3. The principle of the structure of the case is entirely similar to that of the structure illustrated in FIG. 5.

 This structure comprises a double bottom 22 foldable along a line 23 and a case or sleeve body 24 enveloping the two bottles, of polygonal outline, provided with two fold lines 25 (FIG. 11) corresponding to lines 6 of the FIG. 5. The facets of the case body 24 are of course not equal, as are the hexagonal bottom sides 22.

 The case body 24 is advantageously windowed at 26, in line with the barrel of each bottle, the cut parts 27 (FIG. 13) being folded inside and serving as a spacer and wedging element between the two bottles. In FIG. 13, the opening width of each window 26, corresponding to three small facets of the case body 24, is indicated at

 The upper part of the case is advantageously extended at 28 so as to completely envelop the assembly of the two bottles 3, this upper part 28 being provided for example with a gripping window 29 or any other means enabling it to be picked up and transported.

 The display case of FIGS. 9 to 13 can comprise means of guaranteeing inviolability of the type illustrated in FIG. 5 or of another type, for example in line with the means for closing the case (28).

 FIG. 14 illustrates an alternative embodiment of means for separating the bottles in a double case. This case is for example of the type represented in FIG. 9, the separation means being constituted by a simple folding internal partition 30 glued by lugs 31 to the two large flat facets facing the case 24 which is, in FIG. 14 , shown in the mid-training state.

 Finally, the invention is obviously not limited to the embodiments shown and described above, but on the contrary covers all variants thereof, in particular as regards the configuration of the bottom and of the case body, for the packaging of bottles, containers or the like, not only individually but also in groups, in particular of two, three or four.
