Abstract

The invention concerns a label with multiple data designed to be affixed by adhesive on the outer wall of a container, receptacle or the like (8), containing a particular product, consisting of at least two superimposed leaflet (1, 2) each bearing data on at least one of the surfaces, the rear leaflet (2) being adapted to be fixed through its entire surface against said receiving wall. The invention is characterised in that the front leaflet (1) has a first edge arranged such that the front (1) and rear (2) leaflets are, when the label is fixed, pressed one against the other and the front leaflet (1) has at least a tear strip (7).

Description

LABEL MULTI DATA AND METHOD OF MAKING

The present invention relates to a multi-information label and, more generally to a label-type information medium, based on a container, a container, one package containing or enclosing any product, food or non and consisting of a plurality of sheets each carrying information.

It is known to provide containers such as bottles or similar items reported in addition to the label or labeling of conventional and consist of additional labels or labels or against an informative support more or less structure complex, such as a booklet or a structure cut cardboard secured by various means of the container.

Typically these inserts carry information related more or less directly to the product in the container.

These systems are impractical and expensive due to their nature and their implementation mode.

The present invention is to provide a simple single multi-informative means combining various functions separately performed by known devices which all lead to divide the useful space on the container between an area for conventional and mandatory labeling and another area assigned to a supplementary information display.

To this end, the invention relates to a multi-informative label to be adhesively secured on the outer wall of a receptacle, container or the like containing or enclosing any product, constituted by a superposition of at least two layers each covering at least one side of the information, the backsheet is capable of being fixed by its entire surface against the said receiving wall, characterized in that the front sheet has a first edge arranged such that the sheets front and rear may be, when the label is in place, pressed against each other, and in that the front sheet has along a second edge opposite said first edge, a tear strip.

According to a preferred embodiment, said first edge of the front sheet is prolonged by an overflow portion of the rear sheet, this portion being adapted to be fixed adhesively on said receiving wall and being separated from the rest of the sheet by a fold line may also permit possible separation.

The label can have a contour of any shape and dimensions, depending in particular on the nature of the container, for example a bottle of glass or plastic containing a liquid food product or not, or even a canister containing food preserved or any other liquid.

According to a preferred embodiment, the label has a generally rectangular shape, the overflow portion of the front sheet extending for example along the one side edge of the label. Along the opposite edge is advantageously provided in the front sheet a detachable vertical strip separated from the rest of the sheet by a first line of weakness, said tear strip being adjoining the rear sheet and separated from the latter by a second line of weakness.

To facilitate detachment of said strip, the latter is advantageously provided with a transverse thread of lesser resistance defining a release tab.

The label may of course comprise more than two superimposed layers, for example three layers, the third being interposed between said front sheet and said back sheet and secured to the latter at a right fold line. Thus, one obtains a label formed integrally folded in three superimposed flaps.

The label may also include four or five layers or six layers, superimposed. Generally, the said rear sheet is flanked along one edge of said sheet before and along an opposite edge, of successive sheets No. 3, 4, 5 or 6, which are subsequently, separated by folding lines and is folded or rolled into accordion so that the stack of sheets together forms a thin, flat, the dimensions of said sheet before which preferably has the function label vector, e.g. a bottle of wine.

Alternatively, the front sheet can be extended beyond the rear sheet and attached to another sheet folded between the sheets the front and rear, the portion of this other sheet in beyond the rear sheet being coated with an adhesive, and optionally can be extended by one or several other sheets bent in accordion or rolled.

Other available information on the label is located on the inner face of the front sheet, on the outer face of the rear sheet and on both surfaces of the interposed complementary layers.

The tearing of the tearable tape releases the front sheet which can then be opened as a page of a book by pivoting along said folding line of the overlapping portion of the rear sheet. Any intermediate sheets are then freely accessible and can deploy or unfold.

The invention also relates to a method of producing such tags, more particularly, although not exclusively, for the labeling of wine or the like bottles.

More specifically, the object of the invention is a method for producing a multi-information label integrally and 'consists of a front sheet hinged to a rear sheet along one side of the label , the backsheet being secured or not one or more intermediate sheets, from a paper support having a gluing face and a printing face, characterized in that the printing of the exposed surface, after installation , the front sheet is provided on the face sizing said sheet, whilst on the opposite face to the face sizing of the rear sheet are made an impression using an ink preferably opacifying and a coating of a varnish over-printing.

Such a label is particularly intended for laying or mechanical chain. In another embodiment, the front sheet has an edge opposite to an edge of the rear sheet, the two facing edges being connected by a bead of adhesive.

Other features and advantages become apparent from the following description of label embodiments of the invention, description given by way of example only and the accompanying drawings in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of a label according to the invention with two layers;

Figure 2 shows a label of the type of Figure 1 in position on a bottle;

Figure 3 shows the bottle of Figure 2 with the front sheet deployed;

Figure 4 is a similar view to that of Figure 1, showing a three-layer label; - Figure 5 is a similar view to that of Figure 3 showing the label of Figure 4 in the deployed position the front sheet;

6 illustrates an alternative embodiment of the label to two layers of Figure 1, - Figure 7 illustrates an alternative embodiment of the label of Figure 4;

Figure 8 is a schematic cross section of another embodiment of the label of Figure 1; Figure 9 illustrates a variant of Figure 8, - Figure 1 0 is a view of a label according to Figure 9 after removal of the release strip and deployment of the front sheet and; Figure 1 1 also illustrates another alternative. In Figure 1, a label is shown according to the invention, of rectangular size, type label wine bottles for example.

The label includes two rectangular sheets may be superposed, respectively a sheet 1 as stated before for carrying conventional information of a label and therefore necessarily in all cases and visible when the label is placed on the bottle and a rear sheet 2 said to be fixed by adhesive on the bottle.

The two layers 1, 2 are secured to the right of a folding line 3 defining for example the vertical left edge of the label, this line also having a lesser resistance to permit separation higher as discussed below.

According to the invention, the front sheet 1 is protruding relative to the backsheet 2, on the right, for example, right vertical edge 4 of the sheet 2.

The projecting portion 5 of the sheet 1 has for example a form of a narrow rectangular strip separated from the rest of the sheet 1 by a line 6 fold.

In the embodiment illustrated by Figure 1, the front sheet 1 also includes on its left side a narrow rectangular strip 7, for example identical to the 5 and separate strip from the rest of the sheet 1 by a line 8 of weakness.

Finally, in the upper part of the band 7, is formed a transverse thread 9 of lesser resistance defining a triangular tab 1 0 detachment. The label (1, 2) is a single piece of suitable material such as paper, cardboard, plastic film, metal, flexible suitable for bonding or other attachment on a plane or curved carrier of any kind, according to the envisaged uses.

2 illustrates a label E of the type of Figure 1 in place on a bottle of wine B for example.

The front sheet 1 occupies the entire face of the label and carries all traditional information necessary or useful. The label E is glued on the bottle, on the one hand, by the backsheet

1, the entire side facing the bottle is secured by conventional bonding means and in the usual way and, secondly, by the projecting strip 5 of the front sheet 1, the rear face of said strip 5 being also in full screen bonded to the bottle B.

Labels E and are manipulated into place by conventional means, the label being individualized and stored in the folded state, the application of adhesive or adhesive being effected in the known manner on the rear face of the label, the two layers 1, 2 are placed flat against one another. When we want to access the information carried by the inside of the sheet 1 and the front face of the sheet 2, simply remove the tab 10 (Figure 2) which makes it easy to detach the tear strip 7, lanes 3 and 8 being lines of least resistance. Then, the sheet 1 is deployed (Figure 3) by pivoting to the right of the line 6 in the manner of a book page.

It should be noted that the position of the portions 5 and 7 of the label E could be reversed, the release strip 7 being to the right of the label sheet 1 and the opening to the left of the bottle rather than to the right as shown in Figure 3. Alternatively the tear strip may be, as illustrated at 7 'in Figure 1, contiguous to the line 6. in this case, after removal of the strip 7', the sheet, the sheet is spread by pivoting about the line 3. the tear strip may also be vertical but always at a distance from one and the other of lines 3 and 6, for example in the central area of ​​the label, the sheet 1 after removal of dividing the band into two half-sheets by pivoting about the lines 3 and 6 respectively.

According to yet another variant, in the case of affixing labels planar surface, may be provided in the front sheet 1 several parallel tear strips and side by side, disposed horizontally. Figure 4 illustrates a three-layer tag variant, namely a front sheet 1 adjacent to a rear sheet 2, itself extended by a third sheet 1 2, the same size as the sheet 2 and interposed between the sheets 1 and 2.

The sheet 1 2 is free and is simply articulated on the rear sheet 2 along the edge 4 of the latter. When the label of Figure 4 is in place for example on a bottle, it has exactly the same appearance as the label of Figure 2.

The deployment of the sheet 1 (figure 5) releases the sheet 1 2 which is pivotable around the bending line 4 (coincident with the line 6) to expose the information about the two faces of the sheet 1 2 as well as on the visible face of sheet 2 and, of course, the back of the sheet 1.

The line 4 can be a line of weakness where complete and clean detachment of the sheet 1 2 if desired. For this purpose, line 4, as well as the fold line 3 and the lines 6 and 8, can advantageously be provided with micro-perforations aligned. Optionally, the sheet 1 2 may be extended at its free margin 1 3 which is then folding line office or line of weakness by a fourth sheet shown dashed in 1 4 of Figure 5 and the same size as the sheet 1 2.

An even greater number of sheets, five, six or more, may be provided by being attached to the rear edge 4 of the sheet 2 and being folded in accordion as shown in FIG 5 or rolled.

Generally, the label according to the invention is in one piece and consists of sheets following one another.

The outline of the label can be any, rectangular, square, polygonal, curvilinear etc .. Along a side or a portion of the outline, the said front sheet (1) and said back sheet (2) are integral with and hinged or detachable, while on at least one further side or on at least another part of said edge, the said slip back (1) is partially beyond the rear sheet (2), the intermediate sheets, if any, such that the sheets 1 2 and 14 of figures 4 and 5 having a size preferably but not necessarily similar to that of the backsheet 2. in the embodiment of Figure 4, the sheets 1 and 2 are hinged along the left vertical edge, while the front sheet 1 is outside the backsheet 2 on the right vertical edge of the label.

The arrangement may of course be reversed as for the embodiment of Figure 2.

Similarly, the joint between the sheets 1 and 2 could be along the top or bottom horizontal edge and the projecting strip 5 during low or high part of the label provided with a tear strip is provided in opposition to the web projecting the front sheet 1 for the deployment of the latter.

The positionnemnt variants of the tear strip 7 of the embodiment of Figure 1 course apply to the embodiment of Figure 4.

Figure 6 illustrates another alternative embodiment of the label of Figure 1, wherein the band 5 of the front sheet 1 is notched in 1 5 to reveal an extension 1 6 of the same dimensions of the backsheet 2.

Once the label in place, the band 5 is completed by part 1 6, but both sides of this band can be individualized by a color code or specific information indicating that the sheet 1 behind, there 's other information to discover.

7 illustrates the same principle applied to a label of the type of Figure 4 in three respectively 1 slips, 2 and 1 2, the two non-visible layers 2 and 1 2 are indicated by parts, respectively, 1 7 and 1 8 integral with said leaf and appearing in notches provided for this purpose, namely 1 9 in the band 7 detachable from the sheet 1 and 20 in the sheet 1 2.

The principle of figure 7 is applicable to the label of Figure 1, the notch formed in the tear strip 7 showing a portion of the backsheet 2.

Note that in the label of Figure 7, the tear strip 7 could be in any other place, for example adjacent to the line 6. Of course, numbers, shapes, sizes and local offices in the label or said notches cooperating extensions can vary in a large extent.

According to another variant, the label may comprise a front sheet 1 which may not be beyond the rear sheet 2. To this end, the front sheet 1 has a leading edge facing an edge of the back sheet 2, both edges being bonded, in the manufacture of the label by an adhesive bead.

Figure 8 illustrates such an embodiment. There is shown at 1 the front sheet with its detachable band 7 delimited by the weakened line 8 and the fold line 3 of separation between the front sheet 1 and the backsheet 2, the two other opposite edges of the two sheets 1 , 2 being joined and bound by an adhesive bead 21 running the full height of the label.

9 illustrates a variant in which the back sheet 2 is extended to the right of the adhesive strip 21 binding the sheets 1 and 2, a first inner sheet 1 2, itself extended by a second inner sheet 1 4, slips 1, 1 2 and 1 4 being folded in accordion.

Note that these sheets could be disposed rolled. In 7, is referred to as the release strip of the front sheet 1, this strip being, again, .placée to another location, e.g., adjacent to the bead 21

Figure 1 0 shows a label according to Figure 9, the sheet 1 being deployed after detachment of the strip 7 may be, again, placed at a different place, for example, adjacent to the bead 21. Figure 1 1 illustrates yet another embodiment in which the front sheet 1 is extended, opposite its edge 3 of articulation on the backsheet 2 by a 5 overflow portion of the back sheet 2, which portion 5 is itself extended by another sheet 22 folded between the front sheet 1 and the backsheet 2 and itself extended by a further sheet 23 (or more), said additional sheets (22,23) being folded in accordion or rolled . The portion 24 of the sheet 22 protruding from the back sheet 2 is coated with adhesive, this part 24 being bounded by a line 25 facing the line 4 and ensuring the gluing of the front sheet 1 of the label media.

7 is shown in the tear strip of the front sheet 1. This strip 7 could be disposed in another place, for example in juxtaposition to the portion 5.

Preferably, the sheet 22 does not extend opposite the tear strip 7. This results in labels that have on their two opposite side edges of the same thickness (two layers). This facilitates storage stacked labels that remain flat horizontal, which would not be the case if one of the edges of the labels had a different thickness than the other edge.

For the same reasons, the storage of such pre-adhesive labels and deposited on a silicone tape roll gives a symmetrical roller. In all embodiments described above, the tab 1 0 may be replaced or supplemented by a separate element associated with the same function to input help of the tear strip. This element could for example be a strip, a zipper, a cord or the like, positioned inside of the label in protruding height of the tear strip and ensuring easy opening. There is shown at 26 in Figure 7 such element consisting of a strip inserted between the sheets 1 and 1 2, bonded to the sheet 1 and projecting with a freely accessible end height of the part 1 8. In the case of mode embodiment of figures 8 and 9 this element could be a wire embedded in the adhesive bead 21, the tear strip being attached to the cord 21.

Finally, the various layers of the label of the invention may include all kinds of information related or unrelated to each other and the product contained in the bottle, vessel, container, etc .. provided with said label and individually by all graphics, colors, etc. It should be noted that a flat electronic chip can be placed inside the label on one of the faces of a sheet for purposes of traceability or e.g. control the invention also relates to a label such production method, in particular of labels such as shown in the drawings and capable of laying a chain or mechanical.

To this end, the invention relates to a method for producing a multi-information label in one piece and consisting of a front sheet hinged to a rear sheet 2 along a side 3 of the label , the back sheet 2 with or without being secured to one or more intermediate sheets 1 2, 14, from a paper support having a gluing face and a printing face, characterized in that the printing of the exposed side, after installation, the front sheet 1 is formed on the said sheet gluing face 1, while on the opposite side to the gluing face of the back sheet 2 are formed an impression using an ink preferably opacifying and a coating of a varnish over-printing.

In such label after laying the exposed face is as well as the face of the back sheet 2 adhered to the bottle B on the sizing surface of the support paper. It is known that this face sizing has a physical appearance (more matt and rough) different from that (smoother) of the face intended for printing.

This allows in particular to produce self-adhesive labels stored on roll.

Furthermore, the use of an opacifying ink for performing printing on the exposed face of the back sheet 2 and a coating of an over-print varnish on the same face on the one hand, prevents , gluing veneer sheet on the backsheet and, on the other hand, allows an impression which is not reflected on the exposed side of the label in place.

In the absence of such a varnish, glue of the gluing face of the rear sheet 2 might migrate therethrough.

Note that it is possible to reproduce on the exposed face of the rear sheet 2 the information content of the exposed face (front sheet 1) of the label, thereby satisfying the regulation of wine labeling, stating that the support for this informational content must adhere to entire surface of the container.

Claims

1. multi-informative label to be adhesively secured on the outer wall of a receptacle, container or the like (B), containing or enclosing any product, constituted by a superposition of at least two sheets (1, 2) carrying each on at least one side of the information, the backsheet (2) being capable of being fixed by its entire surface against the said receiving wall, characterized in that the front sheet (1) has a first edge arranged so that the sheets front (1) and rear (2) may be, when the label is in place, pressed against each other and in that the front sheet (1) has at least one tear strip (7 ).

Label according to claim 1, characterized in that said first edge of the front sheet (1) is extended by a portion (5) beyond the rear sheet (2), this portion being adapted to be fixed adhesively on said receiving wall and being separated from the rest of the sheet (1) by a fold line (6) can also allow for any separation.

Label according to claim 1, characterized in that said first edge of the front sheet (1) is extended by a portion (5) beyond the rear sheet (2) adjacent another sheet folded between the front sheets (1) and rear (2), the portion of this other sheet in beyond the rear sheet (2) being adapted to be fixed adhesively on said receiving wall, said other sheet being éventuellemnt extended by one or several other sheets bent in accordion or rolled .
4. Label according to claim 1, characterized in that said first edge of the front sheet (1) faces an edge of the rear sheet (2), the two facing edges being connected by a bead of adhesive (21 ).
5. Label according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that said tear strip (7) adjoins said first edge of the front sheet (1).
6. Label according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that said tear strip (7) adjoins another edge of the front sheet (1).
7. Label according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that said tear strip (7) is parallel to two opposite edges of the front sheet (1) and spaced from each of these edges.
8. Label according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that it comprises several parallel tear strips, side by side, disposed parallel or orthogonal to said first edge of the front sheet (1).

Label according to claim 2 or 3, characterized in that it is in one piece and consists of sheets (1, 2, 1 2, 1 4) adjacent the front sheet (1) being articulated on the sheet rear (2) along one side or a part of the contour of the label, said tear strip (7) adjoining the folding edge (3) of the front sheets (1) and rear (2).
1 0. A label according to Claim 9, characterized in that the sheets (1, 2, 1 2, 1 4) have a rectangular shape and are accordion folded or rolled.
