Abstract

The invention relates to a package of the type comprising a lid (10B), which is articulated with a box body (10A) by a hinge zone and which has a dropped edge (30), with, integral with the box body (10A), a flap (32) on which the dropped edge (30) can be superimposed in the closed position. According to the invention, and in combination, the lid (10B) is provided with a handle (35) capable of allowing the handling of the assembly and, between its dropped edge (30) and the flap (32) of the box body (10A), engagement means (36) are provided which are capable of allowing this lid (10B) to be firmly attached, in a manner such that it can be disengaged, to the box body (10A). Application, in particular, to re-closable packages.

The present invention relates generally to packaging made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or other sheet material suitably cut and folded.

 It relates more particularly to those of these packages which comprise a box body, and, articulated to this box body by a hinge zone, a cover.

 More particularly still, but not necessarily exclusively, it relates to those of these packages whose cover, in one piece with the box body, is formed from the head part of this box body, being separated from the latter. by a release strip, which, extending from one end to the other of the hinge zone, is tear-off.

 In this case, the cover has a dropped edge, which extends in practice along its perimeter, and, for its nesting, it is usual to associate with the box body a flap to which this fallen edge is superimposed in closed position, this flap belonging for example to an internal blank forming a rebate on the box body.

 Such packaging is for example used for packaging laundry.

 To facilitate handling, and handling during successive samples of detergent, it is usual to equip them with a handle.

 To date, this handle directly interests the body of the box, extending from one to the other of two opposite edges thereof.

 It therefore constitutes a discomfort for the opening and reclosing of the cover, even when it is, in the case in particular of detergent, it is desirable that such reclosing takes place after each withdrawal.

 The present invention generally relates to a provision allowing the implementation of a handle while avoiding these drawbacks and also leading to other advantages.

 More specifically, it relates to packaging made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or other suitably cut and folded sheet material, of the type comprising a cover, which is articulated to a box body by a hinge zone, and which has an edge. fallen, with, integral with the box body, a flap to which said fallen edge can be superimposed in the closed position, this packaging being generally characterized in that, in combination, on the one hand, the cover is equipped with 'A clean handle to allow the handling of the assembly, and, on the other hand, between the fallen edge of this cover and the flap of the box body, there are provided specific latching means to allow to secure a disengageable manner said cover to said box body.

 For example, these latching means comprise, on any of the elements that constitute the fallen edge of the cover and the flap secured to the box body, at least one tab folded against said element, and, in correspondence, on the other of said elements, a cutout specific to the at least partial engagement of said tab.

 Anyway, by the connection they provide in the closed position between the cover and the box body, they advantageously make it possible to lift the assembly by the cover, and therefore by the handle which is coupled to it. .

 In other words, it is thus advantageously possible to transport the packaging using this handle, even when this packaging has already been opened.

 As a corollary, being attached to the cover, this handle is advantageously more likely to hinder opening or reclosing.

 The latching means provided according to the invention also advantageously make it safer to keep the lid in the closed position between two uses, for the benefit of the durability of the qualities of the contents of the packaging.

 The present invention also relates to the blank or blanks necessary for constituting this packaging.

 These figures illustrate, by way of example, the application of the invention to a generally parallelepipedic package 10.

 This package 10 comprises a box body 10A, and, articulated by a hinge zone 11, to this box body 10A, on a first side thereof, a cover lOB.

 In the embodiments shown, and in a manner known per se, the cover lOB is formed from the head part of the box body lOA, being separated from it by a release strip 12, which, extending between the ends of the hinge zone 11 is removable.

 The cover lOB is therefore in this case in one piece with the box body lOA, the assembly coming from one and the same blank 10 ′, made of corrugated cardboard for example, suitably cut and creased, FIG. 9.

 In FIG. 9, and in a conventional manner, the cut lines have been shown in solid lines, and the crease lines, which constitute fold lines, in broken lines.

 As illustrated in this FIG. 9, the blank 10 ′ has an alignment of side panels initially common to the box body 10A and to the cover lOB, namely, successively, a side panel 14, a front panel 15, another panel side 14 and a rear panel 16.

 On a first side of this alignment of side panels, the blank 10 ′ has flaps 17, suitable, jointly, for constituting a bottom panel 18 for the box body 10A.

 Likewise, on the other side of the alignment of these side panels, the blank 10 'has flaps 19 suitable, jointly, for constituting a front panel 20 for the cover lOB.

 At one end of the alignment of these side panels, a tongue 22 allows, by gluing, to close the assembly on itself, said assembly then constituting a tubular packaging blank advantageously available flat.

 In the embodiments shown, the detachment strip 12 runs continuously throughout the side panels 14 and the front panel 15, biting lightly on the rear panel 16.

 It is delimited by precut lines 24 shown diagrammatically by dotted lines in FIGS. 1 and 2.

 On the rear panel 16, FIG. 2, the detachment strip 12 is relayed by the hinge zone 11, then by a cutting line 24.

 In the embodiments shown, the hinge zone 11 is limited to a simple fold line.

 To make it easier to tear off, the detachment strip 12 is preferably, and as shown, doubled, on the internal face of the blank 10 ', by a strip 26, which runs continuously throughout this blank 10', but which, at the ends of the hinge zone 11, is sectioned locally by transverse cutting lines 27, FIGS. 2 and 9.

 These provisions being well known in themselves, and not falling within the scope of the present invention, they will not be described in more detail here.

 It will suffice to indicate that it follows that, after tearing off the release strip 12, facilitated by a tab 29 provided for this purpose at one end thereof, the cover lOB has, on the side opposite to the hinge zone 11, and, in practice, along its perimeter, a fallen edge 30, FIG. 3.

 In a manner also known per se, there is associated, with this dropped edge 30, a flap 32, which is integral with the box body 10A, and to which this dropped edge 30 can be superimposed in the closed position.

 In the embodiment shown, this flap 32 belongs to an internal blank 33 forming a rebate 34 on the box body lOA, for the engagement of the cover lOB in the closed position.

 This internal blank 33 is shown in isolation in FIG. 10.

 Like the blank 10 ', it has a succession of panels.

 But also not falling within the scope of the present invention, it will not be described in detail here.

 It will suffice to indicate that it is usually duly superimposed on the blank 10 ′ and duly secured thereto before the reclosure on itself, in tubular blank available flat, of this blank 10 ′, and that its height is sufficient so that, after elimination of the detachment strip 12, it effectively forms a rebate 34 on the box body 10A, on the three sides of the latter opposite the hinge zone 11.

 According to the invention, and in combination, on the one hand, the cover lOB is equipped with a handle 35 suitable for handling the packaging 10, and, on the other hand, between the fallen edge 30 of the cover lOB and the flap 32 of the box body 10A, there are provided, according to methods described in more detail later, snap-fitting means 36 suitable for making it possible to disengage this cover lOB to this box body 10A.

 In the embodiment more particularly shown in Figures 1 to 10, the handle 35 is constituted by a strap which extends from one to the other on two opposite sides of the fallen edge 30 of the cover lOB.

 For example, this strap is glued or welded to this fallen edge 30 at its ends.

 But, of course, different other types of handles are possible.

 This is the case, precisely, and as explained in more detail later, in the embodiment shown in FIGS. 11 to 13.

 In the embodiments shown, the latching means 36 implemented comprise, on any one of the elements which constitute the fallen edge 30 of the cover lOB and the flap 32 of the box body lOA, at least one tab 37, folded back against this element, and, in correspondence, on the other of said elements, a cutout 38 suitable for at least partial engagement of this tab 37.

 More specifically, in these embodiments, there are thus, at a distance from each other, two tabs 37, these tabs 37 belong to the flap 32 of the box body 10A, extending on the internal face of this flap 32, in the direction of the bottom panel 18 of the box body 10A and with a root fold line lying along the free edge of the flap 32, and, identical to each other, they each have a profile trapezoidal, with their free edge 40, formed from the small base of this trapezoid, substantially parallel to the bottom panel 18.

 As a corollary, there are, in correspondence, each respectively, with the legs 37, two cutouts 38, these cutouts 38 belong to the fallen edge 30 of the cover lOB, and their profile, which is at least partly complementary to that of the legs 37, is generally that of a flat bottom trough.

 These cutouts 38 therefore leave, along their outline, within the fallen edge 30 of the cover lOB, tongues 42 which essentially maintain the continuity of this fallen edge 30.

 The shutter 32 also includes locally, between the legs 37, at least one recess 43.

 In the embodiments shown, it is a notch.

 Furthermore, in these embodiments, the flap 32 of the box body 10A is at least locally separated by cutting lines 44 from the rest of the blank 33 to which it belongs, to allow the fallen edge 30 of the cover lOB to be locally engaged behind him.

 For the flap 32 itself, these cutting lines 44 are straight.

 For the rest of the blank 33 to which it belongs, they are oblique, to facilitate the engagement of the cover lOB.

 To close the lOB cover, it is therefore sufficient, as shown in FIG. 7, to engage behind the flap 32 of the box body 10A the fallen edge 30 of this lOB cover.

 At the end of this engagement, and as shown in FIG. 8, the tabs 37 projecting from the internal face of the flap 32 of the box body 10A more or less elastically push the tabs 32 from the fallen edge 30 of the cover lOB, engaging, at least partially, in the cutouts 38 delimiting these tabs 42.

 I1 follows that, during a lifting of the package 10 using the handle 35, the cover LOB directly coupled to this handle 35 carries with it the box body loA, the flat bottom of the cutouts 38 of its fallen edge 30 then being in abutment against the free edge 40 of the tabs 37 of the flap 32 of this box body 10A.

 For a new opening of the lid lOB, it suffices to exert a push on its fallen edge 30, by means of the recess 43 of the flap 32 of the box body lOA, as shown diagrammatically by an arrow F in FIG. 7, and exerting a thrust on this flap 32 in the opposite direction.

 The lugs 37 of the flap 32 of the box body 10A then emerge from the cutouts 38 of the fallen edge 30 of the cover lOB, and they therefore release the latter.

 As will be noted, the latching means 36 consisting of lugs 37 and cutouts 38 intervene, in the embodiments shown, on the internal face of the flap 32 of the box body 10A and on the external face of the fallen edge 30 of the lOB cover.

 But, conversely, they could just as easily intervene on the external face of the flap 32 of the box body 10A and on the internal face of the fallen edge 30 of the cover lOB, the cover lOB then usually covering this flap 32 in closed position.

 Similarly, if, in the above, it was assumed that these latching means 36 intervened on the front side of the flap 32 of the box body lOA and the edge 30 of the cover lOB, they could just as easily intervene on the one and / or the other of the lateral sides thereof.

 In the alternative embodiment shown in FIGS. 11 to 13, the strap constituting the handle 35 belongs by a sub-assembly 45 attached to the internal face of the front panel 20 of the cover lOB, and, accessible through a window 46 provided for this purpose in this front panel 20, it is folded back into the standby position, FIG. 11, so as not to be deployed until it is used, FIG. 13.

 For the rest, the provisions are of the same type as those described above.

 The present invention is not however limited to the embodiments described and shown, but encompasses any variant.

 In particular, the flap of the box body to which the fallen edge of the cover must be superimposed does not necessarily belong to a blank internally lining this box body over its entire perimeter.

 I1 could just as easily be a component associated locally with this box body.

 I1 could also just as easily be a flap forming an integral part of one of the panels of this box body, for example its front panel, being formed by the upper part of this panel.

 Likewise, instead of extending all along its perimeter, the dropped edge which the cover has may just as well only extend over part of this perimeter, for example along its only front side.

 In this case, this fallen edge is initially secured in a detachable manner to the flap associated with the box body, for example by one or more glue dots, on the outside of this box body.

 But, as before, it is introduced inside this box body to close it again.

 The two preceding provisions can, for example, jointly find their application in the case of packaging which has come integrally from a single blank.

Claims (13)

 1. Packaging made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or other suitably cut and folded sheet material, of the kind comprising a cover (lOB), which is articulated to a box body (lOA) by a hinge zone (11), and which has a dropped edge (30), with, integral with the box body (10A), a flap (32) to which said dropped edge (30) can be superimposed in the closed position, characterized in that, in combination, on the one hand, the cover (lOB) is fitted with a handle (35) suitable for handling the assembly, and, on the other hand, between its fallen edge (30) and the flap (32) of the box body (lOA ), it is provided with latching means (36) suitable for making it possible to disengage said lid (LOB) releasably to said box body (1or).  2. Packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that said latching means (36) comprise, on any of the elements that constitute said fallen edge (30) and said flap (32), at least one tab (37 ) folded against said element, and, in correspondence, on the other of said elements, a cutout (38) suitable for at least partial engagement of said tab (37).  3. Packaging according to claim 2, characterized in that the tab (37) belongs to said flap (32), and the cutout (38) to said dropped edge (30).  4. Packaging according to claim 3, characterized in that the tab (37) extends in the direction of the bottom panel (18) of the box body (10A), and the profile of the cutout (38) is generally that of '' a flat bottom trough.  5. Packaging according to any one of claims 2 to 4, characterized in that said latching means (36) comprise, at a distance from each other, two tabs (37), and, in correspondence, two cutouts (38).  6. Packaging according to any one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that said latching means (36) intervene on the internal face of said flap (32) and on the external face of said fallen edge (30).  7. Packaging according to claim 6, characterized in that lddit flap (32) locally comprises at least one recess (43), to allow to exert a push on said fallen edge (30).  8. Packaging according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that said latching means (11) intervene on the side of the cover (lOB) opposite the hinge area (11).  9. Packaging according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that said flap (32) belongs to a blank (33) forming a rebate (34) on the box body (lOA).  10. Packaging according to claims 6 and 9, taken together, characterized in that said flap (32) is at least locally separated by cutting lines (44) from the rest of said blank (33), to allow said fallen edge (30 ) to be engaged behind him.  11. Packaging according to claim 10, characterized in that for the remainder of said blank (33), said cutting lines (44) are oblique.  12. Packaging according to any one of claims 1 to 11, characterized in that, in one piece with the box body (lOA), the cover (lOB) is formed of the head portion of this box body (10A), being separated from the latter by a detachment strip (12), which, extending between the ends of the hinge zone (11), is removable.  13. Blank (s) of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or other suitably cut and grooved sheet material, characterized in that it is or are suitable for constituting a package according to any one of claims 1 to 12.
