Abstract

The present invention relates to a method of installing an insert attached to a panel, or the like, which is preformed, a panel fitted with such an insert and a device for the implementation of this method. The method is characterised in that it essentially consists in centring the insert (1) formed by a fabric assembly having a high elongation percentage and foam, the perimeter of the latter being located set back in relation to that of the fabric, on the support panel (2), in pressing this complex into the bottom of a groove (6) internally concentric with the perimeter of the insert (1), in the zone which includes the foam, by means of a tool (punch) (7), then in pressing and welding (bonding) the edges of fabric forming the insert (1) in the bottom of an outer peripheral groove (8) of the panel (2) by means of a welding tool (9).
