Abstract

It consists of two quite distinct and separable parts: - a "spoon" part in contact with the ice cream; - a "handle" part containing the heating element. The self-heating rim of the hemispherical spoon enables it to dig into the ice cream. The heating energy is generated by the handle which contains the electric element and the "trigger" which allows the current through the apparatus. The rim of the spoon is instantly heated by simple finger pressure on the trigger. The two components can be separated very easily so that the spoon part can be cleaned in a washing-up bowl without wetting the electrical part contained in the handle.
