Abstract

The internal arrangement of the cabin of a telepherique prevents any concentration of passengers around the walls by providing seats 26-40 at the perimeter of the cabin.

TELEPHERIC VEHICLE
The invention relates to a vehicle of an overhead cable transport installation having a cabin coupled by a hanger to said cable, said cabin of generally parallelepiped shape comprising four faces, in this case front and rear front faces, substantially perpendicular to the direction of movement of the vehicle and two lateral faces parallel to the direction of movement of the vehicle, at least one access door provided on at least one of the lateral faces and of the seated and standing places for the passengers.

When a vehicle has a suspended cabin, the inclination of the cabin depends on the distribution of passengers inside; and this more significantly depending on whether the line is shorter. Excessive tilting can interfere with proper operation and cause discomfort for passengers.

The present invention therefore proceeds from the idea of organizing the interior of the cabin so that the maximum possible density of passengers is found in the center of the cabin and the lowest at the periphery.

The vehicle according to the invention is characterized in that seats are distributed around the periphery of the cabin at the locations without a door and that standing places are provided in the central port of the cabin.

The highest density is obtained with standing passengers who in the cabin according to the invention are confined in the central part directly above the hanger.

The important thing is to avoid high density grouping on one side of the cabin and in particular near the front faces or walls, which is the normal tendency of passengers, and the provision provided imposes a minimum density near said walls, in organizing seats making standing almost impossible in these sectors. The low density areas, made up of the seats, are confined to the periphery of the cabin.

By providing passengers seated around the edge, this also brings the advantage, in the case of panoramic journeys, of allowing the view of passengers standing in the center to pass. To facilitate embarkation and disembarkation, no seats are provided along the axis of the generally central doors. The center of fit of a seated person is close to the backrest and the backrests of the various seats are as close as possible to the two axes of symmetry of the cabin.

Other advantages and characteristics of the invention will emerge more clearly from the description which follows of an embodiment of the invention, given by way of nonlimiting example and shown in the appended drawing, in which the figure a single is a schematic plan view of the internal arrangement of a cabin according to the invention.

In the figure, a cabin of a cable car of generally parallelepiped shape has a longitudinal axis 10 of symmetry, oriented in the direction of movement of the vehicle, a transverse axis 12 of symmetry, two faces or front walls 14, 16, front and rear , and two sides or side walls 18, 20. In the central part of each side wall 18, 20 is provided an access door 22, which don the illustrated example is with two sliding leaves, other types of doors being usable. Four seats 26, 28, 30, 32 are arranged in the four corners of the cabin with the backrests 24 against the side walls 18, 20, the passengers facing two by two. Four seats 34, 36, 38, 40 or two benches with backs 24 joined together in pairs are arranged symmetrically on either side of the longitudinal axis 10 on the side of the front front wall 14 and on the side of the rear front wall 16, these two groups of four seats 34-40 being respectively interposed between the front corner seats 32, 26 and the rear corner seats 28, 38, being attached to the front walls 14, 16.

It is easy to see that when the seats are occupied the space between the seats 26-40 is taken up by the legs of the seated passengers and access to the front walls 14, 16 is almost impossible. If the passengers remain standing, the number of them who can access the front walls 14, 16 is also limited.

The presence of seats 26-40 promotes symmetrical filling of the cabin, standing passengers always remaining in the center.

The arrangement of seats 26-40 frees access to the two doors 22. If the cabin has only one door, seats can be arranged along the entire side wall without a door. It would not go beyond the scope of the invention to reduce the number of seats, for example by removing the two seats 38, 40 on the inside of the two groups of four seats 34-40 or by increasing the number of seats, in particular in a larger cabin whose space in each corner would be sufficient to accommodate two seats, other arrangements being conceivable.

Claims (6)

1. Vehicle of an overhead cable transport installation having a cabin coupled by a hanger to said cable, said general rectangular cubicle comprising four faces, in this case front and rear faces (14, 16), substantially perpendicular to the direction of movement of the vehicle and two side faces (18, 20) parallel to the direction of movement of the vehicle, at least one access door (22) provided on at least one of the side faces (18, 20) and seated and standing places for passengers, characterized in that seats (26-40) are distributed around the perimeter of the cabin at the locations without door (22) and aue the standing places are provided in the central part of the cabin. 2. Vehicle according to claim 1, characterized in that four seats (26-32) are each arranged in a corner of the cabin. 3. Vehicle according to claim 2, characterized in that the backrests (24) of said four seats (26-32) are backed by said lateral faces (18, 20) of the cabin, the seated passengers facing each other in pairs. 4. Vehicle according to claim 1, 2 or 3, having a central access door (22) on each of the side faces (18, 20), characterized in that the cabin comprises a pair of seats (34, 36) to backs (24) joined adjacent to the front end face (14) and a pair of seats (34, 36) with backs attached adjacent to the rear front face (16), said seats (34,36) being arranged symmetrically in part and across the longitudinal vertical plane of the cabin. 5. Vehicle according to claim 4, characterized in that next to each of said pairs of seats (34-36) is arranged another pair of seats (38-40) with backrests (24) joined on either side of the longitudinal vertical plane. 6. Vehicle according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the arrangement of the cabin is symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis (10) and with respect to the transverse axis (12) of the cabin.
