Abstract

La prothèse de hanche selon l'invention comporte un corps allongé 1 sensiblement élliptique en section, allant en se rétrécissant vers son extrémité inférieure et dont la partie supérieure définit un cône 2 conçu pour coopérer avec une petite tête d'accouplement 3. Le corps allongé 1 comporte une paroi intermédiaire 5 de profil constant quelles que soient les dimensions dudit corps, et une paroi latérale 6 dont le profil varie en fonction des dimensions dudit corps.

Description

PROTHESE DE HANCHE UTILISABLE SANS CIMENT.
La présente invention concerne une prothèse de hanche utilisable sans ciment, et présentant des caractéristiques de résistance mécanique supérieures.
On connaît déjà des prothèses de hanche comportant pour l'essentiel un corps allongé prévu pour recevoir une petite tête formant un élément de liaison avec l'articulation du bassin.
Les corps allongés de type connu ont une configuration adaptée au cas par cas. Notamment, la forme des parois latérales est variable, selon les caractéristiques dimensionnelles de l'articulation.
Ceci signifie qu'il est nécessaire d'élaborer et de concevoir chaque prothèse au cas par cas, ce qui implique de nombreux calculs et travaux de préparation qui compliquent singulièrement la fabrication des prothèses.
Par ailleurs. les prothèses utilisées actuellement ne sont pas toujours conçues en vue d'une mise en place facile dans le fémur, et dans de nombreux cas ne présentent pas des caractéristiques de résistance mécanique suffisantes.
La présente invention a pour but d'éliminer les inconvénients exposés ci-dessus en réalisant une prothèse de hanche utilisable sans ciment, dont l'un des côtés a un profil constant quelles que soient les dimensions de la prothèse, de manière à faciliter les opérations d'élaboration et de fabrication.
Plus précisément, la prothèse de hanche selon l'invention est conçue pour permettre la réalisation de toutes sortes d'articulations différentes, quelles que soient les dimensions. et sans qu'il soit nécessaire d'y apporter des n#6difications partict èles ou complexes. La prothèse selon l'invention présente en outre des caractéristiques de résistance élevées et peut être insérée dans l'os sans difficultés, de manière à faciliter la reconstitution de la structure osseuse.
Un autre but de la présente invention est de réaliser une prothèse de hanche facile à fabriquer et offrant toutes les garanties de sécurité quant à son utilisation.
Les buts mentionnés ci-dessus sont atteints par une prothèse de hanche utilisable sans ciment caractérisée en ce qu'elle comporte un corps allongé de section sensiblement élliptique, dont l'extrémité inférieure va en se rétrécissant et dont l'extrémité supérieure définit un cône d'accouplement prévu pour recevoir une petite tête. La paroi intermédiaire dudit corps allongé a un profil constant sur toute sa longueur et la forme de la paroi latérale est variable en fonction des dimensions et caractéristiques physiques propres à chaque patient.
D'autres caractéristiques et avantages de la prothèse de hanche selon la présente invention ressortiront mieux de la description donnée ci-après à titre indicatif d'un mode de réalisation préférentielle, et en référence au dessin annexé dans lequel

Les figures Il et 12 représentent respectivement une vue frontale et une vue dans la direction de la paroi intermédiaire du corps allongé, la paroi intermédiaire présentant des dimensions constantes et la paroi latérale étant représentée sous différentes dimensions.
En se référant aux figures annexées et plus particulièrement à la figure 1, la prothèse de hanche selon la présente invention comporte un corps allongé, désigné sous le chiffre de référence 1. Ledit corps allongé est de section sensiblement élliptique et va en se rétrécissant vers sa partie inférieure. Sa partie supérieure définit un cône 2 prévu pour recevoir une petite tête d'accouplement 3.
Le cône 2 forme avec la paroi intermédiaire 5 du corps I un angle variable en fonction des dimensions opératoires. Plus précisément, cet angle augmente en proportion avec les dimensions de l'articulation. Les études expérimentales effectuées ont permis de constater que l'angle varie de manière progressive en fonction des dimensions de la prothèse, entre 1350 et 1420.
Une caractéristique importante de la prothèse de hanche selon la présente invention réside dans le fait que la paroi intermédiaire 5 a un profil constant, quelles que soient les dimensions de la prothèse, alors que la paroi latérale 6 du corps allongé a un profil variable en fonction desdites dimensions.
La partie supérieure du corps allongé I comporte des rainures s, s'étendant sur tout le pourtour dudit corps allongé, sur environ un tiers de sa longueur totale.
En se référant également aux figures 2 à 12, on remarque que le cône 2 est conçu pour coopérer avec des petites têtes 3, à l'intérieur desquelles est niénagé un logenent cônique li, dont la profondeur peut varier pour permettre de modifier les modalités dsaccollplement entre ladite tête et ledit cône et ainsi autoriser une adaptation optimale de la prothèse.
Notamment, cette construction permet de modifier la longueur du col en utilisant le même corps allongé, en changeant simplement la tête, ainsi que cela est représenté schématiquement sur les figures 7, 8 et 9.
La description qui précède permet de remarquer que la prothèse de hanche selon la présente invention permet une parfaite adaptation quelles que soient les conditions opératoires ou les caractéristiques dimensionnelles de l'articulation, grâce à la possibilité de régler la position des petites têtes.
Par ailleurs il faut remarquer que les conditions d'ancrage de la prothèse dans l'articulation sont grandement facilitées grâce à la présence des rainures 8 sur une partie de longueur du corps allongé.
Bien entendu, la prothèse de hanche décrite ci-dessus pourra subir de nombreuses modifications et variantes évidentes pour l'homme de l'art sans que l'on sorte du cadre de la présente invention.
Notamment, les matériaux utilisés, de même que les dimensions et formes indiquées pourront varier en fonction des exigences.

Claims (6)

Revendications
1. Prothèse de hanche utilisable sans ciment caractérisée en ce qu'elle comporte un corps allongé (I) de section sensiblement élliptique, allant en se rétrécissant vers son extrémité inférieure et définissant dans sa partie supérieure un cône (2) conçu pour recevoir une petite tête d'accouplement (3), ledit corps allongé comportant une paroi intermédiaire (5) de profil constant quelles que soient les dimensions de la prothèse et une paroi latérale 6 dont le profil varie en fonction desdites dimensions.
2. Prothèse de hanche selon la revendication 1, caractérisée en ce que la partie supérieure du corps allongé I comporte des rainures S.
3. prothèse de hanche selon la revendication 2, caractérisée en ce que les rainures (8) sont ménagées sur tout le pourtour du corps allongé (1), et s'étendent sur un tiers de sa longueur totale.
4. Prothèse de hanche selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée en ce que les têtes d'accouplement 3 comportent un logement (II) de profondeur variable selon la longueur du col du cône (2) du corps allongé (1).
5. Prothèse de hanche selon l'une quelconque des revendications précédentes, caractérisée en ce que l'angle entre l'axe longitudinal du corps allongé (l) et l'axe longitudinal du cône (2) augmente avec les dimensions dudit corps allongé.
6. Prothèse de hanche selon la revendication 5, caractérisée en ce que l'angle entre l'axe longitudinal du corps (1) et l'axe longitudinal du cône (2) est compris entre 1350 et 1420.
