Abstract

The invention relates to a press which makes it possible to deform a malleable support, one very fragile face of which does not support any mechanical contact. It consists of a metal "box" 1 open via an operator-side slot permitting positioning of the support to be deformed 6 between two clamping elements 4 and 5. A die 9 deforms the support without any contact with the upper face of the support. At the end of stamping, the movable elements 4, 9 and 10 return to the "rest" state (drawing 1) and the deformed support 5 may be withdrawn. The device according to the invention is intended particularly for embossing photographs or reproductions in order to give them an impression of relief.
