Abstract

Method for mounting a folding seat or bench seat in a vehicle, in which a backrest which can be folded down onto the seat cushion is secured to the latter in a pivoting and articulated way and during which the seat is inserted through an opening in the bodywork in order to secure it to supports carried by the floor of the vehicle, characterized in that it comprises the operations consisting in: a) grasping the seat in the folded position by means of a programmed robot; b) inserting the seat into the vehicle through the opening; c) lowering the seat towards a support and laying it thereon; d) locking the seat in contact with the support whilst it is moved towards its position of use so as to be locked to another support.
